I cannot connect GitHub from a Figma Make template. The error I get is like the following. How do I fix? It is quite frustrating.

Hi @YBao

I understand that you're getting a 403 error when trying to connect your Figma Make project to GitHub.

I see that you already submitted a support ticket (#1636553) and went through the troubleshooting steps the chatbot suggested.

Your case has now been escalated to our team, and they’ll reply once they’re ready.

In the meantime, here are a few things to check:

  • Are you the owner of this Figma Make template file? If not, does the issue occur with other Figma Make files that you do own?

    • If you're not the file owner, you may want to reach out to them to see if they can try the GitHub connection from their side. They might have the necessary permissions to resolve the issue.

  • Try connecting from a different network (such as a mobile hotspot) to see if that resolves the issue.

  • Does this happen only in a supported browser, only in the desktop app, or in both? If it happens in a browser, try accessing the integration from a different supported browser (Chrome, Firefox, Safari, or Edge) to see if it’s browser-specific.

Here are some related articles for reference:

If the issue persists after checking above, please reply to your ticket email with:

  • The results of the troubleshooting steps above

  • The file URL, with view-only access granted to support-share@figma.com

This will help our team investigate the specific file setup and assist you directly via the ticket email.

Thanks,

YBao

Hi @Junko3 ,

To answer your questions:

  1. I am not the owner. The issue does not occur with other Figma Make files I create on my own. I clearly know that the owner cannot connect GitHub either.
  2. (TBD)
  3. Both.

I don’t think I have ever received any emails about the creation of a ticket.

Thanks.
