I have a big projects with lots of comments and they keep disappearing and only reappearing when I restart Figma. I also have comments that have been resolved reappear all of a sudden and old and resolved comments reappearing in the wrong place. In short, comments are a complete mess and I would like some official confirmation that they are messed up so I can  tell my client that this is a know bug.And why are comments once I resolve not disappearing anymore?

Good morning, I tried to overlap two texts, creating a negative space on the edges of the first one by a stroke to subtract from the second one. I have repeated the 'operation several times but I have encountered the following problems: 1) often figma gets the outline of the text wrong and I don't know how to edit the selection 2) once I get the outline right and click “flatten” on the text in front, if I select both and click “subtraction” often the effect doesn't work and the images are not edited.May I know what is the correct procedure to make the outlines of the texts and to overlap them with the effect of negative space on the edges of the first text applied to the second text ?Thank youTranslated with DeepL.com (free version)

good morning, I can't create textured/distressed text with figma. Let me explain: if I upload a jpg texture image, apply it over a text, select both image and text and click “mask”, everything works but the text color is no longer editable. But I would like to apply the texture to the text while maintaining the ability to change the color of the text. I tried to do the opposite and bring the text on top of the image and apply the mask, but the text remains unchanged and the image underneath disappears.Can you please help me ? Thanks 

Hello!I am wondering if there is a way to have the content in a mobile layout in Figma that automatically updates when you edit the content on the desktop layout, and vice-versa. For instance, if I have the two layouts side-by-side and I update the headline copy on desktop, I want it to also automatically update on mobile, so I don’t need to copy and paste back & forth. Same with an image fill or button text.I tried creating a component with the desktop and mobile sizes as different variants, and it updates the size correctly when I switch variants, but not the content (text and/or image). I’m assuming something needs to be linked somewhere in order for this to happen, but I’m not sure what or where. Any insight would be greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance :)

Hello hope you're doing good today. I am facing a problem with my figma account. I have no longer access to my student gmail account and suddenly I also lost access to my figma account too. But there so many important files that I need. Can anyone please help me to recovery my account?

I have a modal drawer component, where the body is just one big slot. So the designer would make their drawer content into a component, and swap that into the slot. The problem is that the drawer contents have states and variants, but none of these are surfaced at the top level, even when I try to expose them.

Hello, Say I have a file that contains a few remote component instances that are assets from another file i created. Is there a way to identify the file name the main component belongs to using the API? I figured this would be possible since you can physically see the file name in the right panel when clicking on it. I initially thought that I would be able to get all nodes from a file and check to see if they were remote components, then use the component key to find the file key. But it does not seem like that is an option. Is there any other way this would be possible?Thank you.

I am the creator of this file, marked as the owner, but the file is locked and cannot be copied. The educational version has expired. When attempting to copy, I receive the message "Only editors of this file can copy it." Even my friend, who has editing permissions, is unable to copy it. (Other project files are functioning normally.)I tried to log into it from other browser(Safari, Chrome), logged out and re-login, no luck. 

Hi, both of my CV and portfolios files are missing in my Figma account. I remembered that those 2 files were even starred by me. I created those files in 2023 and I’m the only owner of the 2 files. Never shared them with anyone. I checked everywhere - recent, drafts, projects and trash. I can find all past files created before and after them, but only these 2 are missing. Very weird situation and please help me to check it. They are the most important files to me. Thanks.

I have various button sizes in separate master components, and it gets pretty messy in the assets panel before I turn on the “Show Subfolders” option. Is there a way to make this the default setting so anyone using my library sees them organized right away? ? Or, if I turn this on, does it also get turned on for others using my library?

First time poster, long time fan of Figma :) Since the changes in March, I’ve been struggling to get developers to understand how to get access to the file. It’s been chaotic.  TL;DR - if I add developers in Dev Mode, with VIEW access, shouldn’t they be able to inspect designs? Do all the Dev Mode things? I don’t want them to edit ANYTHING (anymore). There are several places this process may be falling apart, so I’ll explain: I’m in an enterprise, and a different department manages permissions. Figma is new here, and we’re working out the kinks in the other department. I was told to invite the developers to the Figma file, so I used the Share button and added their emails with View access.  I’m working with about 20 vendor developers, some onshore and some off. I don’t think any of them actually read the instructions in any emails, including mine with screenshots.  The delivery file I have invited them to, I added them in dev mode with view access. I would like to change the text and/or images in a figma file by using an API (from what I understand only plugin api can write) but without the need for a user to run the plugin or do any interaction with the figma fileUse case - a user creates a business card with the business logo and name but I want to use the same card for another business, therefore another logo and text. I do not want to alter the figma file itself, I want to send a request with the new image and text and get the png.

In the April 2025 release notes, Figma announced improvements to the annotations feature. It is now visible outside of dev mode, with no need to switch.I interpreted this to mean that everyone can see my annotations, regardless of having a Dev Mode or a Viewer seat. However, that is not the case. Team members with view access to the file cannot see my annotations.Could you please clarify the difference, now that annotations can be managed without dev mode? How do I solve the problem of Viewers not being able to see annotations?

Hello we have a huge application that really has 30 apps that work together. We use Jira to track our work and segment that work into Program Increment (PI) and then into Epics. How do others structure their figma files to find the most recent file to work on? We will have many 100’s of files. The figma search is total crap to find pages in files and branch names. What we thought we could do is to rename the pages to epic numbers. Any advice please let me know.

Me hovering on item doesn’t seem to work. I have background gradient in locked layer to make glow. For some reason it measures to it. Here is with Layers tab for understanding: 

I was logged into an old school email, and after graduating recently, the institution deleted that email address. I wasn’t able to edit the email for the account and now, I cannot sign back in. This was 3 years worth of work 😭 and I would hate to lose it. I have created this temporary account to connect with support teams to get some help. Hi everyone, I recently had a problem with interactive animated components when user testing them, since our users didn’t have the custom fonts installed on their machines the animations ended up glitching. I “fixed it” by sending the fonts for them to install. Since this is not normal behaviour with this feature, I’d like to report this as a bug if possible. Thanks a lot, loving the feature btw.

Hi Figma Support Team,We’ve noticed an issue with our billing where our account is being charged for 21 seats, but we only need to pay for 13. It appears that additional seats are being automatically added without our approval, which is increasing our monthly cost.Could you please help us adjust our billing so that we are only charged for the 13 members we need? Hi!I’ve seen that similar issues have been discussed on this forum before, but this might be a slightly more unique case. When I’m working on our organization’s design system in the App UI design and I’m selecting a few very simple components, like a notification with just an icon and some content, I experience a significant drop in FPS and severe lag starts to occur. I’ve already tried recreating the component, deleting and rebuilding specific frames, etc., but nothing seems to help. I’m not sure what this could be related to, but it definitely disrupts the workflow quite a bit.I’ve made a Video of FPS drop.

Is there a way to view Figma’s regular website when logged into Figma? When I go to www.figma.com and I am logged in, it redirects me to the Figma app files view. There is no way to view the regular site once in the app. There are times where I want to see the Figma site. Occasionally, someone asks me what does a plan include or what the different plan levels are… And I want to check for myself and/or send them a link. I have sign-out or open a different browser or search for a direct link manually.
