Student licence not working

Pedro martinotto

I seriously need help with my Figma Education verification because this has become extremely frustrating.

I already submitted EVERYTHING possible:

  • student documents

  • identity documents

  • tuition/payment proof

  • academic calendar

  • course schedule

  • institutional email

My verification through SheerID was APPROVED on May 4th and it says I am verified for 335 more days, but Figma still does not activate the Education plan on my account.

Every time I try to redeem it, I get “Verification Limit Exceeded”.

I already created new teams/workspaces, retried the process multiple times, and nothing fixes it.

At this point, it looks like the Education benefit is stuck somewhere internally on my account and I need someone from Figma support to manually resolve this issue urgently.

Please help.

Hey @Pedro martinotto, thanks for taking the time to explain everything you’ve already tried, and I’m really sorry this experience has been so difficult.

A couple of things that are still worth double-checking before escalating further:

  • Education access isn’t automatically applied to an existing team, so you may need to either create a brand new Education team or manually upgrade an existing one. This guide walks through the process step-by-step:
    https://help.figma.com/hc/en-us/articles/360041061214-Figma-for-Education#teams

  • Please also confirm you’re logged into the exact same Figma account/email that was used during the SheerID verification flow, since mismatched accounts can sometimes cause this behavior.

That said, given everything you’ve already tried I’d recommend reaching out directly to education@figma.com and include:

  • screenshots of the “Verification Limit Exceeded” message

  • confirmation that SheerID shows your verification as approved

  • the email address tied to your Figma account

  • a short timeline of the troubleshooting steps you’ve already attempted

Providing all of that upfront should help the team investigate the account state more quickly and determine what can be done to resolve it.

Hope this helps and let me know if you have any further question!
