Hello Figma Support Team,I'm reaching out for assistance with verifying my student status for Figma's Education plan.I'm currently an IT student and attempted to re-verify my account due to Figma's recent update. However, I'm encountering an error that's preventing me from completing the verification process.The issue is when I try to verify, I receive the message: "Verification Limit Exceeded - We're glad you're enthusiastic, but it looks like you've already redeemed or attempted to redeem this offer." What happened is that initially, I received a "we're having troubles, please verify later" error. I waited a few days and tried again, which resulted in the "Verification Limit Exceeded" message. I've attempted multiple times over the past few weeks, but continue to see the same error page.I'm unsure if my re-verification actually went through or if my account is still pending. Could you please help me resolve this issue so I can continue accessing Figma's Education plan?Thank you,Anh T

Is there a way to reset the prototype with an interaction without forcing the user to press R to reset? I’d rather continue the flow and just reset some key components and variables rather than take them out of the flow and start the whole thing again. Resetting variables is OK, but there are a few components (an add to trolley one for example) I need to reset back to its original state but I don’t see a way to do this.

When pasting links into my FigJam board some show the preview image as expected but others do not… they just who the link text. Hi,normally, when you try to create a second variable with the same name (next to next), Figma returns this issue:Variable names must be unique within a collection But, if a variable doesn’t exist yet and will be created in the main and branch in parallel, and you then merge the branch, you have a duplicated variable.Since, Figma doesn’t normally allow doubled names, this looks like a bug.variable duplication with same name

Hey everyone! 👋I’m currently building my portfolio site with Figma Sites (loving it so far! 🎉), but I’m running into a GDPR question.I plan to add Google Analytics for basic traffic stats — which means I technically need a cookie consent modal for GDPR compliance (I’m in the EU).As far as I can see, Figma Sites doesn’t (yet) support any built-in cookie consent options.So my questions: How are others here handling cookie consent with Figma Sites? We have a Design System with parent components composed of nested instances. Both parent components and nested instances are in the file “A”. To avoid having thousands of components available within the Assets when publishing the library, the nested instances are hidden with “.” at the beginning of their names. The problem: When using the component library from file “A” in file “B”, everything works fine. The issue arises when a nested instance from file “A” requires an update. Firstly, it does not allow me to publish the nested instance update without removing the “.” from its name, and I also cannot publish the parent component containing the updated nested instance. If somehow I manage to publish the parent component, file B will prompt me to update it, but the updated nested instance does not receive the changes made. Is this a bug? Or what is the correct way to work, update, and publish nested instances so that they always receive their updates without cluttering the Assets librar

Hi there!Our filename syntax is generally [Feature name] - [Feature ID]. However, when the file name’ length is medium-long, it is trimmed (In Figma Desktop). I thought I could see the full name in the tab tooltip, but since Figma displays the cover instead, we cannot see the full name:One could argue that we could move the Feature ID at the beginning of the file name, but then we wouldn’t see the feature name, which is also really useful.Is there any way we could see the entire filename when we mouse over the tab?

Hi, I am building a UI where I frequently resize frames with rounded corners and I have encountered an animation glitch.Steps to reproduce:Create any frame or rectangle with rounded corners Animate it only to change it’s dimensions, leaving the corner radius the same in both statesSee the GIF below for result. This happens regardless tothe element stroke or fill type the smart animation type or speed (you might miss it in fast animations of small transformations but it’s there) 

Please make Dev Mode Annotations visible by all roles, not just Full Dev Mode seats. This can become costly for users needing context but not all the other dev-mode features. Here’s the scenario: We have a dashboard, with cards showing a customer’s account status. This status can be mapped from multiple back-end statuses, to show just one front-end status. For example, any of the following could be mapped to a single status known to the customer as “Completed”: canceled, terminated, sold, complete, etc. This is something that the developer needs to reference, but then also the PM needs to reference in writing tickets (who doesn’t need full dev-mode access), the QE needs to reference for testing automations, and various other individuals on our team. Placing it in a comment makes it less clearly attached to the specific piece of the design, and requires us to keep documentation dispersed among different tools (Jira, Confluence, Figma etc). Hey there Figma team.I enjoy working with variables, but my team and I are currently facing two annoying issues related to the variables panel.First one:When I open variables panel, then try to copy something from a text layer from my Figma canvas by using ctrl+c, and then I try to paste it somewhere outside of Figma (in gmail, in slack, in google docs, etc), the paste never works. I just paste whatever was in my clipboard before I copied that text. It looks like Figma doesn’t register ctrl+c action on a layer, as long as the variables panel stays opened. Second one:Normally, when I edit a text layer and hit ESC, it is registered as ‘confirm’ action. However, while variables panel is opened, hitting that ESC while editing a text on the canvas results in closing variables panel instead. It can be extremely annoying if I’m working on something simultaneously on canvas, and in variables. I hope both bugs can be addressed sooner then later :) Best,Figma enjoyer

Hi everyone,I’m currently working on a prototype in Figma, and I’m trying to achieve the following keyboard-based interaction: When I press the A key, an overlay appears. When I release the A key, the overlay closes automatically. I noticed that Figma’s "Key" trigger only allows actions to be triggered on key press, but I haven't found any way to differentiate between keydown and keyup, like you would with standard JavaScript events.Is there any workaround or trick to simulate this behavior directly in Figma?Or would I need to use an external tool (like ProtoPie, Framer, or a coded prototype) to make this interaction possible?Thanks in advance for your help! 🙏

Maybe it’s too much to ask for a full-on photoshop within Figma, but here are two features that would help my team and I tremendously moving over from XD. The biggest issue is in XD we can easily click “open in photoshop”, edit an image, save, and go back to XD where that instance of the image is edited live. Some of the things we do very often are placing a color overlay over an image, and erasing parts of an image using a brush. Just thought I’d put this out in the world, thanks for reading!

Hi everyone :-)I’m trying to prototype a menu that stays fixed in the bottom-left corner while scrolling, but stops (or “sticks”) right before reaching the footer so it doesn’t overlap.In real code this would be a simple position: sticky with a stopping boundary, but I can’t find a clean way to reproduce this behavior in Figma.What’s the best way in Figma to simulate a sticky element that stops before overlapping another element (like a footer)?Any tips, alternative workflows, or plugins that could help?Thanks in advance xx

The Figma Universe is a feature rich universe with many possibilities and does only work with architecture mindset. So for UX Designers for example, but they are complaining a lot anyway… There are so many learning curves and concepts which do not show any usability, obvious logic or intuitive workflow, if you do not take some lessons. I tried to find a summary, video or help documentation, which are there but have lose ends… So the figma dschungel is good for specialised Architects, but there are thousands of alternatives meanwhile, most of them are just small AI Apps which have solutions to certain parts of a workflow, like wireframing ect… The more easy way is Canva and the Affinity Suite, which is for free now...

After a late switch from Sketch to Figma about six months ago, here is my conclusion regarding the UX of Figma:While Figma has many great features that Sketch does not have (dev mode, way more capable prototyping, variables,…) the general UX of the tool is just sooo bad! Here are the things that annoy me most:Visibility of functions: There are so many functions hidden below a small icon that has no label. Much stuff is hard to find. And what drives me really nuts: When a function is not available, then its UI element (or entry in context menu) is hidden – not disabled! I’m using Figma for UX Design, and it just feels so wrong to use this tool that does not handle UX basics correctly itself.   Library management – publishing components: You can do this from the book button on the top left where you usually update components from other files, but publishing is mixed in here if you click on “This file”. Hi! I have an issue with the Sora Medium font in one older Figma file.What happens Sora Medium is correctly installed on macOS. It works in all new Figma files. But in one specific older file, Sora Medium does not appear or text becomes non-editable. We work on a browser app Why I think this is a Figma bugI completely reset my environment (removed all Sora fonts, cleaned system folders, reset macOS font cache, reinstalled Figma Font Helper, cleaned its cache, rebooted, duplicated the file, ran “Cleanup file…” etc.).Despite this, Sora Medium works everywhere except in that one file.So the issue must be inside the file itself → likely corrupted font mapping, which happened to us once before and Figma support fixed it.What I needHelp with repairing the font mapping inside that file, if you have idea how we can fix it independently I will grateful for your support.Thanks!
