Ability to output a color variable's value in a text layer

Kellie3

Seems you can only add numbers or strings to text layers. It would be great if you could output a color value as text. It’d be really useful for setting up a style guide template that can be updated to different themes.

Hey All, thanks for the feedback!

We’ll pass this onto our team for future consideration.

Same case here, some plugins make a good attempt but the sync between interconnected variables isn’t smooth and that matters to me, would love this addition

I’d like to bump this. I have a very similar use case of providing component definitions with colour variables in light + dark mode variants.

Currently, the only duplicates I have to make are for the text values for the colours, even if I create string variables for each it still allows for regression in the values if I forgot to change both the colour and the text description simultaneously.

This change could resolve all that, essentially having the ability to “Extract a colour as text”.

It will help a lot to create a Style Guide.

+1 here too. Google search brought me here.

Would definitely help a lot with Style Guides/Design Libraries especially if you have a load of colours and want to utilise different color themes (light vs dark mode etc)
