Figma is a powerful design tool that allows designers to create and collaborate on projects seamlessly. However, as the number of projects grows, organizing your workspace can become a daunting task. Finding specific projects can be difficult, especially if your workspace is cluttered and disorganized. Fortunately, Figma provides users with the ability to create folders and subfolders to keep their projects organized and easily accessible. One of the most useful features of Figma is the ‘Drafts’ section, which allows you to save incomplete or unfinished projects. This feature is especially handy when you need to work on multiple projects simultaneously, but don’t want to clutter your workspace with unfinished designs. The ‘Drafts’ section gives you the ability to save your progress, so you can come back to it later. To add a folder to your Drafts section, follow these easy steps: Click on the ‘Drafts’ section located on the left-hand side of your Figma dashboard. Click on the ‘Create n
If I use “ctrl + c” to copy a file from my computer, then select the layer in Figma I want to update and use “ctrl +v” to paste/replace it. The layer will inherit the name of the file on the desktop. So if it’s “IMG_ASD123” the Figma layer changes to be named this instead of what it was labeled in Figma. Is this a recent update? It never used to happen? It’s a bit frustrating as I used to name my layers “Asset (3:4)” or whatnot to indicate to dev what the ratio of the asset was but now I need to keep renaming it everytime I copy/paste a new assets onto the layer. Is there a way to disable this at all? Thanks in advance! 🙂
Hi!I'm currently experiencing some erratic behavior when navigating within a file using the spacebar. It seems to be related to the Sections containers, although I haven't looked into it in detail yet. Would you mind taking a look at the attached video? Thanks
Hi there, y’all! I’m currently making this component that should be able to be sized responsively. However, when I drag it to widen the component, the right icon is staying in the same place. I’d like to keep the assets on the left (^Component) anchored to that side but anchor the plus sign on the right hand side to the right side so that it responsively widens. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to do this? Thank you so much and apologies for poorly explaining that- would be happy to elaborate!
PROBLEM: Currently, if you and a user outside of your team both have paid Figma accounts, and you need the other person to be able to edit your file, you need to pay for A THIRD account. i.e. For TWO freelancers to edit the same Figma file, you need to pay for THREE Figma accounts. This is clearly a terrible customer service experience and I suspect it’s a common issue as you’ll see from Figma’s own Product Support team response below. SOLUTION: The ideal workaround would be to offer free editing when both accounts are paid. Alternatively, if it’s an expensive service to provide, it seems reasonable for Figma to charge a clear fee (e.g. Editing collaboration: $2 per file per month, or $5 per project per month). Please upvote and add to the discussion. For reference, here’s my last message from Figma’s Customer Support, who are clearly trying to help solve this problem: Hey there Paul, Thanks for reaching back out. Again, all editors in your team space are billable to you. Even if Robin
Everything look alike and the position of the UI keeps on changing. It’s been a few weeks trying the new UI and I’m so much slower and inefficient with this new layout. I used to believe Figma would be my long term tool, but now I’m not so sure about that.
I think it would be interesting if plugins inside Figma could be organized by categories, similar to how it's done in the Community. You can see in your menu that your installed plugins are already arranged in a way that helps you better understand how each one works.
I'm experiencing an issue with the selection tool in Figma. When I try to click and drag to select multiple items on the canvas, it often fails to work properly. Sometimes it only selects some of the items within the selection box, and other times it doesn't select anything at all even though I'm definitely dragging over layers. And then I have to select them one by one, the only way it works.
In Sketch, you can simply hold ALT and the selection tool will only select items that are fully enclosed by it. Super useful! You can also do a deep selection, to only select items that are fully enclosed inside a group, by holding ALT and COMMAND. AFAIK Figma doesn’t support this? Would be appreciated if it would be implemented...
As a passionate user, I truly love Figma for its powerful capabilities and the way it fosters creativity and collaboration. However, I am very frustrated with the current direction the platform is going, particularly with the added financial and administrative barriers for collaboration among paid users. To ensure seamless and frictionless cooperation among Figma users, we propose the following adjustments to the current collaboration and billing model: Unrestricted Collaboration Among Paid Users: Allow users with paid subscriptions (e.g., Professional, Organization plans) to collaborate on team files without additional costs. This means that if a freelancer or agency with a paid subscription joins a team project, there should be no need to pay for extra design seats, as all parties are already contributing financially to the platform. Temporary Paid Seats for Non-Paying Users: Continue offering the option to add temporary paid seats for non-paying users. This is a great solution for p
This auto-layout frame is a child/inside a basic frame that I should be able to move things around in. How the heck do I turn this off when I hover over to click and drag. all I want to do is drag the group/autolayout over a bit manually and arrows in this small space are producing too large of a move. this comes up for me a ton and it’s insanely annoying. I can’t click and drag without it also changing the auto layout spacing. if I want to change that I will go to the tool sidebar and do it myself. I don’t need this pink stuff trying to do it for me just because i’ve hovered over it. Also, FYI - I couldn’t even screengrab it through the OS, because this literally happens on hover, so I snapped it with my phone - hence the bad photo, apologies.
file access was lost and after checking in Figma, we realized an ex-employee deleted the files. How we can restore file. I don’t see any single file in Thrash. Please assist. I have Figma admin access.
Please… PLEASE! For those of us with lots of simultaneous projects and heavy deliverable schedules, tab browsing in Figma needs some LOVE! Now, I’m not one of those psychos that keeps 300 tabs open in their Chrome browser, but I do, at any given time, need access to multiple projects simultaneously. If I could easily group those tabs together in Figma and give them a nice, friendly name, maybe an emoji, or… dare I say… a color, I’d be a really, really happy camper.
I have 32 gb 3200 MHZ ram with rtx 3050 8gb Gpu. and MD Ryzen 5 8600G CPU. Dont know while creating component figma desktop app and browser both are getting crashed. And it really effecting on my project deadline. Can anyone know the solution ? its not like that i’m creating heavy component , for example i have created a component for desktop version when i’m trying to do it for tablet and mobile version it suddenly got crashed. And i’m facing this problem for past 2-3 weeks.
This seems to be relatively new and I’m not sure if its a bug or a feature. In the past, all your instances would update in real-time as long your main component was on the same page. Even if the instances are nested in some other components (also on the same page). Today I made some changes to my main components but the instances were still stuck on an older version. I had to manually update them even though all of the main components were on the same page. Anyone else experiencing this??
