Touchscreen and Stylus Input Issues in FigJam

Daniel1984

Hello Figma Support Team,

I’m experiencing severe issues with touchscreen and stylus input specifically in FigJam.

For over six months, I was able to use my stylus to draw and annotate without any problems. I could also navigate the canvas smoothly using two fingers. However, recently this functionality has broken:

  • When I select tools (e.g., the Selector) and try to pan the canvas with two fingers, the view wiggles unpredictably, making navigation nearly impossible.

  • Drawing with my stylus now behaves erratically—strokes do not register accurately and jump around or lag.

  • I have tested this on both the desktop app and in multiple browsers. The behavior is identical across all environments.

This issue is easy to reproduce: simply use a stylus to draw and then try navigating with fingers in FigJam.

I’d appreciate any guidance or updates on whether this regression is known or if a fix is planned, as this is disrupting my workflow.

Thank you for your help.

Best regards

Hello Figma Support Team,

I want to add that I am also facing major difficulties with using a stylus in FigJam since the recent changes.

Previously, I could write and sketch freely with a consistent pen thickness, which was essential for taking quick notes and brainstorming visually. The new feature is interesting, but without a stable, consistent pen tool, it has become almost impossible for me to use FigJam effectively in my workflow.

Please understand that I truly cannot work like this. I rely on FigJam daily for capturing and developing ideas quickly, and without a consistent, reliable pen tool, it disrupts my entire process.

Is there any plan to reintroduce or add an option for a pen with consistent thickness for writing in FigJam? It would mean a lot to many of us who need to write and think visually while using FigJam.

Thank you for looking into this, and I appreciate your support in keeping FigJam practical for stylus users.

@AnabelBu seems to experience the same issue as a daily FigJam user. I wanna add that the pen has some input lag which makes it draw with the delay which makes it impossible to draw. It is not related to real life pen at all which draws as soon as you touch the surface.

This is how it worked before and I think this is how it is supposed to be working.

Senior high school teacher here.

Since the school account cannot be used to log in, I'm replying with my personal account.

I'm having the same problem on Chromebooks as well.

The lag is acceptable to some extent, but recently not only the pen has become faint but the pinch-to-zoom also stopped working properly.

TL;DR:

- No.

- Chromebook.

- Yesterday. It worked on last Thursday (where I used it on my last class last week)

- Across files and different chromebooks.

- Yes. None of them worked.

Hi there,

I understand you're having some trouble in FigJam. We'll let you know as soon as there's any update from our team.

In the meantime, if you haven't mentioned it yet, could you please share the device models you're using? That would be super helpful.

Thanks for flagging this!

Can confirm the prior mentioned problem is solved on Chromebook.

The delay is also negligible at the moment I was testing.

Thanks for the hardwork.
