What I can’t stand the most is that the panels of the new UI can’t be attached to the edges. They leave some gaps, wasting the space to display the main design and operation area. And visually, these gaps are also distracting my attention. The toolbar at the bottom also interferes with the main operation space, especially if its color is the same as my design draft. By the way, is it just for the convenience of novices to move it from the top to the bottom? If someone who uses Figma more frequently, he will use shortcuts instead of mouse clicks to trigger these functions. So I hope that adjustments can be made in time in the official version of UI3, otherwise these redesign will seem like a subjective conjecture of someone who doesn’t use Figma much.
Hi! Turning off “snap to pixel grid” in a Figma Design file no longer changes snapping behavior when dragging frames around. Whether this feature is turned on or off, a dragged frame still snaps to each pixel, no matter how zoomed-in. Note that some other objects (e.g., vector objects) still respect this setting. It’s just an issue with frames, components, and component instances. Note that If I group the frame, I then can drag the group to any sub-pixel location. I’ve restarted my machine, restarted Figma, checked for updates, reloaded tabs, tried it in other design files. Tried it in the client, in Chrome, and in Safari. Same problem. Can anyone else replicate this?
In our flow, we try to use annotations to describe data paths for components and text fields. In some cases the dev mode UI becomes cluttered. A keyboard shortcut to toggle annotation visibility would solve this issue and also align the toolbar option with the others around it. As this is targeted to developers, they find more comfort into using the keyboard more. Side-note: i think there is a small bug: in a section, with multiple frames that contain annotations, the selected frame will have the annotations visible. But if no frame is selected, one of them will have the annotations visible. I don’t see a clear algorithm regarding the winning frame here.
Why is copying and pasting not working? if i try copying a frame only the text inside of it will be copied not the entire frame. Anyone got a fix or dealing with the same issue? if i right click that doesn’t work and if i do CTR + C and CTR + V it works.
Request:Provide an option to easily duplicate or backup files via an API Reasoning:The REST API comes with a lot of options, but it doesn’t allow you to copy files, projects or teams.There’s an option to download files, but not as uploadable content (i.e. as .FIG), nor is there any option to duplicate them, if they are e.g. used as a template for another team. Possible (i.e. my) use case:I work in an enterprise. We have a base design system with tokens that we hand out to external agencies and do some automatic checks via different APIs. I would like to automate the duplication process of these files completely. However there’s no good option to do this at the current moment.
Background: I have a Primary file for wireframe and prototype and a Design file for components. In the design file, I have a component that contains a button variant and quantity pill variant. The designed interact is as soon as you hover, the button changes to the quantity pill . When you click on “+” the quantity increases and “-” the quantity decreases. (similar to Amazon). This works as expected in the design file. Issue: When I update each file, the interaction in the Primary file does not update. (see image) I’ve tried in browser and in Figma software (Windows). All libraries are updated. No beta options are turned on. Libraries are enabled for all files. I have read that other people are having issues with their variants across different files, but haven’t found anyone with a similar issue. Any ideas why this isn’t working? Thank you in advance!

Hello everyone, I’m having some issues with Figma Slides when trying to present both in presenter and audience view. In particular, the “smart animate” slides transition doesn’t work in the audience view but seems to work fine in the presenter view. I already tried to restart the presentation, open it in the app and on different browsers, I just can’t find a way to make it work. It’s driving me crazy, I’d 100% prefer to not view the smart animations in the presenter view rather than in the audience view.Do you have suggestions for solving this? It’s for my graduation presentation, I need to use 2 screens, one external for the audience view and my macbook screen for reading the notes in the presenter view:(
Hi Figma, As the title suggests, the main use case for UI 3 as a product designer like myself is utilizing AI features, background removal, and layer renaming. However, beyond these, the UI itself presents cognitive challenges. Here’s a small comparison between UI 2 and UI 3: UI 3 has more complex icons. (Why use a border in the typography icon, especially in such a small space?) Wasted space and visual distraction. (I don’t understand—why does everything need to be wrapped in a background? This adds unnecessary layers of complexity and distraction.)
When you have alot of variables it would be nice to be able to search for specific things
Possible bug: Currently, when I use the paste and replace option (either via keyboard shortcut of the menu options), instead of the thing I copied replacing the thing I selected, the text of the thing I copied replaces the thing I selected. I need it to work as before, where the entire thing I copied (component, section, frame, etc) replaced the thing I selected. There are a few older posts regarding the copy and paste+replace; however, I believe my experience is novel.
Paste to Replace is no longer working properly as of a few days ago. It seems to be using Paste as Text despite using the shortcut and context menu options for Paste to Replace. Desktop app seems to be working as intended but I prefer the browser version if that’s still a viable option. In browser I have tried: Logging out/in Signing out of other devices Clearing browser cache, history, etc. Worst case I can switch to desktop app, just curious if I’m doing something wrong here. Thank you!
I’ve sent a copy of the project to my client. She has accepted it. But Ui kit with components doesn’t work. Components still linked to the original file. The project has several files inside, including the UI kit file.
Hello Whenever I run a Find/Replace to remove some quotes ( " ), Figma identifies and removes apostrophes ( ’ ). And vice-versa. It doesn’t make sense as each character have its distinct ASCII code. Or am I doing something wrong here?
I’m not able to copy the text with in comments in Figma Slides to paste elsewhere. Seems like a bug. Are any other folks having issues with this?
I’m unable to see the variables icon in any of the fields where they are supposed to appear. Right clicking on the field doesn’t provide the option in the dropdown either. I’m on a pro plan using the latest version of the desktop app.
