I can't see the Total Views or Individual Product Views under the Metrics tab after updating to the latest version. Could someone help me determine if this is an issue specific to my account or a general problem affecting all users in the community?    

Hello, I recently went back to studying UX/UI Design after a hiatus and received a message from Figma saying that my student plan will expire in 4 weeks. When I tried to re-apply, I received the message "You’ve already used up your free access to the Figma Education plan." I am still a student and do not work in the field yet, how can I re-apply for the education plan?

I am having difficulty putting text on top of some of my images. I click on the text and choose bring to front. Sometimes this works, sometimes it does not. On certain images no matter how many times I click bring to front the image is always on top. Thanks!

Hello,I was wondering whether prototyping with variables is incompatible with interactive component states? Specifically, I wanted to create a one screen prototype using tab components such that when one tab is selected, all of the other tabs deselect. I was successful in doing so using the steps described below, but had to remove the prototyping connectors from my component. Is this a known issue, by design, or is there a way around it? Thanks in advance for any insight. Added local boolean variables for Tab 1 Active, Tab 2 Active, Tab 3 active and set only Tab 1 to true. Then in design mode, I applied the variable to the component property for active state for each tab. In prototype mode added set variable actions on click to make the tab being clicked set the boolean variable to true, and false of each of the other tabs present in the prototype.

There is a problem when we use Instance Swap, the initial min-width setting remains and is not reset when we swap the element.Example of the image below:The button has a min-width of 60px, when I swap it for the icon-button it maintains the 60px min-width, however, the icon-button does not have a min-width and should be 40px x 40px.  

Additive work in Figma: Two Figma files with the same variables. File1 contains elements like buttons, etc., while File2 is empty. Is it possible to copy buttons from File1 into File2 so that the buttons are automatically linked to the variables in File2 (same names and connections, but different color assignments for the primitives)? If the variables in File1 and File2 are identical, can I copy a button with links to variables from File1 into File2, and will the button automatically link to the variables from File2?

Recently, I often encounter the error Figma is not defined in the console The Figma plugin API in the global variable no longer exists. "I want the selected shape node to become a child of a specific frame while keeping its position and rotation unchanged. When I manually drag and drop the shape into the frame using the Figma Layers panel, this works perfectly (left frame in the image). However, when I try to do the same using the Figma Plugin API, the shape’s position and rotation are altered (right frame in the image). Any way to achieve the same programmatically?

Hi there,I’m trying to use a toggle to be able to open and close a panel while clicking on a different button (different component)So I created a collection of boolean variables to do that, with the “Hide for publishing” option unticked :  But I cannot for the life of me associate it with my target panel like I think I used before by finding it in the appearance option? Update: The comment doesn’t exist when I open the prototype in Figma web. It’s driving me nuts; I use comments like a checklist, and it makes me feel like I have something left to do and it makes my workspace feel messy. For the string variable. I have been trying to delete the “string value” and leave it blank, but it keeps reappearing. Also,I have repeated to add string variable with another design and it worked. But the time im adding to the existing file, it’s frustrating.

I want to export my variable collection and import into a new file. All the plugins I found do import the individual variables and collections, but the connections/links are lost. This means my collections are no longer linked to the primitives, and instead, the hex values are displayed. Is there a plugin or any way to export the variables while keeping all the connections intact?

Hey everyone, I’m trying to create a heatmap feature in a custom embed that tracks where users click in Figma prototypes. I’m using Figma’s Embed Kit 2.0 and specifically listening for the MOUSE_PRESS_OR_RELEASE event. The only coordinate-related fields I see are:nearestScrollingFrameMousePosition nearestScrollingFrameOffsetThe thing is, in some prototypes, nearestScrollingFrameMousePosition is properly populated, but in other prototypes, it stays null (even though I do have scrollable frames). One of the last remaining pain points that I encounter in most of my projects when trying to set up components to be responsive across devices, is needing to be able to define a fixed aspect ratio for responsive images. For example say I’m creating an instagram or youtube feed where the images/videos are 1x1 or 16x9, It would be great if we could lock the image layers aspect ratio to that. Unfortunately in the current state there is no way to have those images retain their aspect ratio’s on a responsive screen by using the fill property or left and right constraints, it would be amazing if responsive components respected a locked aspect ratio (or something similar) on shape/image layers so image/video heavy designs could be more accurately responsive.

I have a component with a limited amount of space for text. The text will be too long in some instances and I need it to overflow to a second or third line. However, I don’t want that second or third line to always be there. How can I replicate this with Figma?  

Hello! A few days ago I tried to share a FigJam to Google Classroom. I clicked “make a copy,” but when the FigJam was shared, a copy for each student had not been made; all the students were viewing the original FigJam together, which was, obviously, chaos. Another teacher with a separate account on a separate computer tried to re-share the same FigJam as a copy twice but had the exact same result. The following day, a completely different teacher in my school system - with a separate account and a separate computer - tried to share a completely different FigJam to Google Classroom and had the exact same result. It would not copy, despite clicking “make a copy.” All three of us double-checked that we were following the procedure correctly, and have successfully shared Figjams in the past using the “make a copy” function, so there was no user error. This has never occurred before, but the issue is making those Figjams unusable for our school system. Please
