Background:I am designing a simple sidebar for a website that can open and close. The sidebar contains element representing the different pages Each element can be active or not. When active, the color changes to blueActors:Sidebar Elements: as described in the top right panel, each variant is either active or not, and either open or closed. Sidebar: The Sidebar can be either open or closed Full prototype: As you can see, I only set the variant state to “active” directly in the prototype, so I only keep the parent component outside of the prototypes  Problem:When I close the sidebar, the instance swap “color” goes back to the default value I could create different Variants, one for each page, but I want to keep it easy and to the least number of variants possible.The sidebar is open and the first element is active​​​​​- When I close the sidebar, the text changes properly, but the color goes back to normal. why? As mentioned before, I could create one variant for each page with the elem

I’ve been wanting to change my email to my .edu email to verify for the education plan on Figma. I have been trying to change the email multiple times, and there’s always a popup saying that a verification email was sent, when it actually was not.I’ve even tried making a new account with my .edu email, but there’s no email with the verification link.Figma support does not even respond, I have tried contacting them. I’ll be happy if someone can help me resolve this issue.

Hello,I’m trying to get my Education account approved, but the system keeps saying that it has already been approved under another account.Because of this, I cannot proceed with approval on the account I actually want to use.Has anyone experienced a similar issue or know how to resolve it?Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Hi!I’ve “developed” a web app via Figma make, it gives me and my team the possibility to add markups to animation shots. It’s working and all, but what is missin is persistency and collaborative work.I tried adding supabase to the formula, but it’s not really working. Figma make tried to make the connection with the supabase account but for some reason the login screen doesn’t work and has this phrase on top:Edge Function Not DeployedThe Supabase Edge Function needs to be deployed for collaborative features to work.To deploy the Edge Function:Install Supabase CLI: npm install -g supabase Login to Supabase: supabase login Deploy the function: supabase functions deploy serveryou can’t login, you can’t really access the app anymore.now, what should I do to make it work?Sorry I imagine this got too complex for Make to take care of and I’m not a real programmer (although I know bits of programming...)Any help is much appreciated

I’ve started using Figma Site mode and no plugins I use nor the option to get new to add showing up. I’m on Prof Plan. Did I miss any setting changes or it’s not available in Site mode yet?

This happens with large text boxes that stretch the entire height of my screen.

We’re building a country selector with flag icons for our design system. For legal/IP reasons we couldn’t just grab an existing flag set. Our IP&S department suggested we create our own abstracted, round versions so they’re safe to use.We designed the icons in Figma. To make them round, we used masks on groups (instead of subtracting everything into one circle shape), because otherwise it would be a huge amount of manual work and would result in SVGs with tons of paths and layers.The problem:When we export from Figma, those masks become opacity masks in the SVG. These render fine on desktop browsers, but cause issues in iOS and Android (both in apps and sometimes in WebViews).So my question is:👉 What’s the best practice for handling this? Should we: Convert all masks to <clipPath> post-export? Do a boolean “subtract/intersect” in Figma to bake the circle into the geometry? Or handle the rounding at the UI layer (e.g. border-radius / ImageView corner radius) and drop the

hey guys, so i made a prototype on figma make, i wanted to share it with a focus group when i finished it, so i clicked “share” and copied the link but first i tested the link in the chrome browser free of other cache and it didnt load well it did for a split second and loaded up nothing after that like it was blank with only the figma top toolbar avaialable… so i tried publishing it and doing the same thing and the same problem happened, now the easier solution is to just share the link diectly but it will show the ai prompts which i dont want , i know there was a way to turn it off and thats if you publish which i have done but the file is not loading when i go to view it. and accessability is definitely set to public.prototype

I have multiple prototypes that include a trigger that allows them to advance to the next screen. [When video ends > Navigate to] Some screens get stuck and don’t advance. It’s happening on old prototypes that used to work seamlessly and new prototypes and it happens intermittently. I’ve tried restarting my computer, clearing the cache and other troubleshooting tips from Figma community forums; however, I can’t find anyone that is having the same issue and nothing has helped. Sometimes, I can restart the prototype and all screens will advance as expected. But this doesn’t always work. 

There are many closed posts trying to understand why Mode conflicts happen. While the Figma team continues investigating, I believe I’ve found some clues about the root cause—and part of the solution—based on repeated testing.Before you start Make sure your libraries are exported and up to date: Accept all updates in the source libraries. Re-publish if anything changed. In the affected file, relink/accept updates to the latest library versions. How to diagnose Find the component that shows the ⓘ warning when you try to switch a mode. Duplicate the component, then detach the copy. Work on the detached copy so you don’t lose the original. Check if the conflict persists on the detached version. If it persists, inspect layer by layer (text layers, containers, etc.) until you isolate the problematic element. In my experience, the culprit is almost always text styles or typography tokens. Hi everyone 👋I’ve been trying to create a “multi-select services builder”, where there are four types of services and depending on what combination of services you select, the respective plan card shows below.Ex: When you select Internet, Mobile, and TV services, you will see an “Internet + Mobile + TV” plan card below the toggles.I managed to utilize boolean variables and conditional prototyping to get to the point of showing the card swapping when selecting Internet and Mobile. However, I have to take into account what cards will show when selecting other variations of services. It’s also complex because the toggles (how you would select each service) have a selected/unselected state on click that I have to take into consideration. I did try connecting the Mobile selected state to the MobileSelected boolean variable and Internet selected state to the InternetSelected boolean variable, but the conditional prototype doesn’t seem to work when I have the variables set to false by defaul

Hello - I am having issues accessing any of my variables/tokens from the variables files from my main design system figma file. both are published. in the main design system file only two to three variables are showing up but not all of them. i’ve deleted styles and variables from the main DS file, but still no luck. i’ve also tried destroyer to remove color and text styles, along with variables in the main file. having a hard time figuring it out and at wits end. appreciate any advice or insights. text styles seem to be loading properly, but not everything else. my variables in tokens file are following the correct color, number and string variables.  

Is it possible to animate boolean shapes in Figma yet?

Can you use the stroke width less than 1 px and in decimal values for websites? If no, why?

Figma stopped suggesting me to create a style by default, now it always suggests to create a variable and I always have to switch. How can I switch it back to suggesting to create a style by default?

Can I switch to a different bootcamp for the student plan if the original one didn't meet Figma's requirements?

Hello Figma Community,  I am trying to re-verify my Education plan before it expires.  When I upload my student documentation, I get the following error:  “Your last name is missing from the documentation submitted.”  However, my document clearly shows my full legal name (First + Last) along with my institution details.  I also updated my Figma profile name to exactly match the document, but the system still rejects it.  Steps I’ve tried so far:  1. Uploaded student ID card (clear scan, PDF format).  2. Updated my Figma profile to match my full name.  3. Retried multiple times, but same error appears.  I believe this is an issue with the automated verification system.  Could a moderator or Figma staff member please review my case manually?  I’ve attached a screenshot of the error message and my documentation.  Thank you for your help!
