I attempted to create an icon-sizer component that adjusts the dimensions of a set of componentized icons. When testing this icon, I notice that the color is preserved but the stroke width is reset when I swap the default nested icon to another icon (both with manual swap as well as setting up an instance swap property). I ensured that the icons have the same layer names as well as the same structure and I’ve also manually set the color and stroke width in the icon-sizer component. Is this a bug?

I have noticed that if I paste an instance the frame name that displays at the top left corner of the frame in grey text will be missing. The instance’s name is only visible under the layers bar. Is there a way/ work around to display the name of the instance? this is for display on a screen flow chart, it’ll be a lot easier to differentiate the frames if the name is next to the frame. Thank you community! 

I use a ton of arrows with descriptions whenever I am doing a user flow. I do a line for this, with an arrow tip. Quick and dirty by eye then go back and make sure everything is beautifully aligned and precise throughout the flow.I used to be able to select the anchor on Line A and the anchor on Line B and use the alignment panel to make sure those lines terminated in the exact same spot. I no longer seem to be able to do this and it’s driving me insane. With basic straight lines with only two points, I know I can just set the width evenly, but if the lines branch with out from straight lines I can no longer line the anchor points up.I want both of these blue lines to touch the pink line precisely using the alignment too. Not moving the entire line, just the anchor point of one to be aligned perfectly with the other.

Hello ! I know that figma extension in VSCode is in beta, but when i installed the plugin in VSCode and then tried to click on the Log in button to login my Figma account, nothing happens. Does anybody else has the same issue ? Thanks ! Caroline

In Figma, how can I create a blurred rectangle behind a text box that expands dynamically as the text grows, while also being able to adjust the rectangle's transparency/effects separately from the text? I was trying to get chatgpt to help but it wasn’t working. Auto layout turns my rectangle into the frame which then has transparency and effects effect the text, which I don't want.

When I open the Figma app on ipad, it gives me a login page. I fill out the information, it sends me to my email for authentication, and then from there it sends me to Safari. If I go back to the Figma app, it remains on the screen that says “Check your inbox.” There doesn’t seem to get any way to get Figma to actually let me use the app. Is this an ongoing issue?

How can I transfer a community figma handle to another user? Can a person have multiple?How do orgs manage this?

Has anyone else noticed an issue (glitch?) where layers are locking on their own, with an unremovable dot where the padlock icon appears when layers are locked? Clicking it just adds a padlock. A coworker and I are working on a deck together and just encountered this and don’t know how to resolve it so that it’s editable again.It’s the child-layer-locked-icon.We thought maybe it was a font issue but it’s happening on non font layers as well. Duplicating the content into a new slide is removing them, but it’s a long doc and we want to avoid this in the future.I did try to google for it/search for it here, and see some people who may be having the same issue, but no resolution.

Hi everyone,here is my issue, and i wonder how you guys proceed in this case.Sorry if that’s long but didnt think of a shorter way to explain.I’m designing a desktop web app, with a lot of different menus, drop down lists, modals, collapsible elements, accordions, and all. Let’s take the example of a modal window, triggered by the same CTA on different screens.(example : “Create new unit”, which can be found on page A, but also page B which has different content).The content in the modal is multi steps form.If i’m thinking “Prototype”, i will :make a Create button component make a modal window component, with different variants corresponding to form steps, with interactions to switch between steps (previous/next/cancel/finish). add a “Open Overlay” interaction on the button to open the Modal component. Place the button on the page A (and B)

I just update my figma. And my navbar not showing. I can’t use multi tab and resizing the window. 

When I right-click on a page no menu appears in the Figma app. I only get a menu when I right-click in the layers panel. and I don’t have the top pane where the pen tool is (which I need), so I can’t make that panel appear without the menu.

Yesterday I noticed the “Hide when publishing” option no longer works properly.In my main component library, I have a component that is intended to be used locally for documentation and it used to be unpublished. Now, it is visible in other files, and when I find that component in the Assets panel and right-click it, it only shows “Show when publishing” even though it is clearly published. Clicking this option does nothing and on the next right-click it still says “Show when publishing”.Has anyone else run into this, and can you help me resolve it? Edit: this issue is present on the native app on both MacOS and Windows.

Hi, it was always fine when i resize images in figma. But yesterday my images start to be smoothed on export. How to disable this? I cannot find any setting. I tried different browsers. Its a disaster  

So im pretty good in figma.. been using a few years.. a little newer to making components, but so far so good.However im stuck on this and pretty much losing my mind over it. I thought it would be simple, but I cant seem to get it to workBelow is what im looking to achieve Any help would be greatly appreciated

Hello. I am having this issue for a long time now. When I move the design into my clients Figma file almost all images disappear and I get this message “ Invalid image was removed”. And I am downloading images separately to place them in clients design file every time.

Hi Everyone, I am using Figma Rest API to update the variables on Figma File...  I came across a situation where I am unable to update the variable-description through the API.... For example,consider someone has edited the description on Figma file.. I want to keep the description as it is defined in tokens( I am using styled-dictionary), if I run the figma-api script, was expected to update the description as it is in tokens, but it is not working.. It is working w.r.t tokens values, but not the description..

Hi all. So my org has a pretty big requirement for presentations and lately we’ve switched everything to figma slides.Now what we wanted to do was mas the public URL of figma slides (the presentation) with our own organizations URL but it seems that there is some sameOrigin error that prevents this from happens and thus prompts the login screen on load. I’m not sure how to fix it and my dev team has also tried most options. Technically the public URL link should be accessible regardless of where it is hosted right or what URL is it masked under. I’m essentially trying to do the below thing:   If I load just the public link that I got from figma slides as it is in incognito (or a browser where I dont have figma logged in) - then the link loads fineBut as soon as I mask it in my own U
