Verification limit exceeded - SheerID confirms they have approved it

Hi team,

 

I’m having trouble getting my Education account plan verified. I have reached out to SheerID and they confirmed my access was approved on October 3rd, 2025. 

 

They explained that any requests after this date won’t get new approvals, as Figma allows only one approval per person within a 335-day period.

 

I don’t understand what this means - I’m still getting the “verification limit exceeded” on my Figma board and I can’t use it. 

 

SheerID referred me to you. Can you kindly let me know how we can resolve this?

Hey ​@Andrea C , thanks for explaining the situation, I can see why this is confusing.

I’ve escalated this internally so our Education team can take a closer look at why you’re still seeing the “verification limit exceeded” message, given the approval SheerID confirmed. They’ll review what’s happening on our side and I’ll follow up as soon as they have more information. Thanks for your patience in the meantime!

Hey again ​@Andrea C , after confirming with the Education team, it looks like your Figma Education verification is currently tied to a Gmail address. To use the Education plan, you’ll need to verify with a school-issued email address instead.

Updates to the email on a verified EDU account are handled directly by our Education team. To request this change, please submit this form: Request to Move Figma EDU Status.

Requests are reviewed in the order they’re received, and responses can take up to 5 business days. Thanks for your patience!
