Hi, Im currently rebuilding my personal site with figma and upgraded to use some additional features. With hosting a website through figma, how does that work exactly? If I were to build the site with figma pro, host it and connect a domain name etc, will that website still be live if I decide to not renew my pro subscription and go back to basic?Thank you in advance

HiI'm new to Figma, and I'd like to learn how to create masks for icons. What you see in the image are several icons from this design file. Each icon comes with a mask, and the mask follows the shape of the icon, It also has an alpha color, (semi-transparent pink) Please, I need step-by-step instructions to learn how to create masks that follow the shape of the icon. I'm a noob at Figma so I need your help.  Thank you in advance.

Hi team 👋,I’m looking for clarification on how API rate limits are calculated when requesting specific node IDs compared to fetching the entire file.Questions: When calling the /nodes endpoint with multiple node IDs, does it count as: a single API request regardless of the number of node IDs, or multiple requests internally that affect rate limits? Is there any difference in rate-limit cost or weighting between: fetching the whole file, and fetching a subset of nodes? Do factors like number of node IDs, file size, or response payload size influence how rate limits are counted?

The After Delay interaction has suddenly stopped working in all of my Figma projects. It fails to trigger in any file, including existing ones where it previously worked.This issue does not affect other teammates, even in projects that use the same design system within the same organization.I have already tried: Clearing cache and restarting Figma Reopening files and duplicating them Reapplying the interaction Following common suggestions found online and in forum threads So far, none of these steps resolved the issue.Is this a known bug, account-specific issue, or environment-related problem? Are there any additional troubleshooting steps or diagnostics I should try?

Hi, I am writing plugin to merge remote variables (from a library) into the local file.example: “color-content-primary” variable from library file used to color an icon from Lucide Icons library and find, match & merge with color variable of the same name from the local file.*The purpose is to ensure my design system (semantic colors) have been applied.I have the plugin working but I have an issue where it can find the ‘collection name’ for the variables for the remote file but when i have used multiple libraries it only displays one collection name. Is this expected ?example: When i select sample icons from Lucide Icons library after import and run the plugin it fetches the collection name. When i select sample icons from Hue Icons library after import and run the plugin it fetches the collection name. When I select icons from both libraries it only returns a single collection name.Is this a limitation ? (or an error)

Hi, can you please tell me if there is a limit on the number of people who can edit a free team file?

So i am trying to get something to work that might be a little specific.  I have a file with components that have semantic variables that i use as a ‘database’ of different site components, i have set different variables like border-radius, font-family etc. When i want to create a new project i want to use the library from this file and use all the component with all their variables except for the color variables. So what i did was export the color variables from the ‘master’ file, import in the new project, published the library from the new file and swapped the color variable from the masterfile (thats connected) with the new library from the new file.So this worked, which is great, but the only problem is that everytime that i want to change the colors and see changes i have to publish the library (from the new project) en then push the updates on that same file, which seems kind off strange since i’m working in that file already. Is there a way to instantly auto-update the swapped

I have some kind of inappropriate memory error in my workspace - a crash in debug mode - "memory usage".I have a workspace with three pages, and they've been working on it for a year - no errors.I've done this, and there are a few photos left - the memory is 80% full.I've tried to fix it many times, but the result is the same. I need to delete everything, and only then will the error stop appearing.I did it through Help - troubleshooting - "reload all tabs" and "reset figma and restart". It didn't work. And I literally cleared the memory every time in debug mode - it went down to +- 30%, and it still gave me an error that it was 80+% full.

Hi I’ve been a Figma user for the past 3-4 years, all of which I have been using the education plan. However this year I changed schools, and my school email does not accept third party emails. This means that I cannot receive any email confirmation emails, when trying to change my account email to my school email in order to be eligible for the education plan. I have tried contacting Figma by email a couple times with no answer.I would really appreciate if this issue could be resolved since I use Figma on a daily basis. Thank you.

Yesterday, December 20th, I was charged $40. I would like to know, firstly, why this is, since the payment I made on November 20th was only $3.Secondly, I would like to know if my plan has been canceled, as I no longer require a professional plan and I don't see the need to be charged $40, which I won't be using.I need help confirming whether my professional plan has been properly canceled.

  I know there are a ton of topics on ghost components. But I have THREE different ghosts of a button in my library.It has been a loing journey to master this button through variable collections, but the control with only a minimal amount of variants is amazing!But the ghosts? I cannot escape the ghosts.Only ONE of the buttons is actually placeable as an asset.One is placeable but trying to go to source says “Restore component,” so this one is a ghost.Here is the weird...the other two buttons throw this bonzo error.“You can't add an instance of a shared component into the document from which the shared component was published if the original component was deleted.”Someone explain that one.   

During Figma Schema 2025 they announced upcoming support for extended variable collections and native variable export/import conforming with the DTCG token specification.It was announced during this session: Here is a screenshot of what they were proposing:An update to the app dropped a few days ago with extended collections but I cannot find how to export variables to JSON (without using a plugin).I don’t have the “Export modes” option in my dropdown menu, even with our Enterprise account.Has anyone got that feature and how do you do it?
