Figma Make keeps showing old version even after refresh, logout, and duplicate file

Hi everyone,

I’m having an issue in Figma Make and I’m wondering if anyone else has experienced this.

After I revise my design, sometimes the preview shows the updated version correctly. But later, it goes back to the old version before revision. Sometimes after refreshing it looks correct for a moment, but then it reverts again. So the preview is inconsistent — sometimes it shows the latest revision, sometimes it shows the previous version.

I have already tried:

  • refreshing the file

  • logging out and logging back in

  • duplicating the file and continuing from the duplicate

But the issue still happens.

I’m using Figma Make, and this keeps happening even though my latest revision was already updated properly.

Has anyone experienced the same issue?
Is this a cache/sync problem, version issue, or a bug in Figma Make?
Are there any fixes or workarounds so the latest revision stays consistent?

Thank you.

Hi @Via888

I understand you're experiencing some inconsistency with the preview in Figma Make.

Thank you for taking the time to troubleshoot this already. To investigate further, I’ve gone ahead and created a support ticket(#1802801) on your behalf.

Once you receive the ticket confirmation email, please reply to it with the following details:

  • The URL of the affected Figma Make file and grant View access to support-share@figma.com (rest assured that granting this access won’t affect your billing).
  • A screenshot or screen recording showing the inconsistent preview

This will help our team pinpoint where the issue is occurring and investigate more effectively.

In the meantime, could you please try these additional steps:

  • Switch to Fullscreen Preview: Does the issue still persist in the fullscreen view?
  • Is this happening only in this specific file, or across all of your Figma Make files?

If you discover anything new from these steps, please reply directly to the ticket email so we can gather all the information in one place.

Thanks!

Hi Figma team,

Thank you for your follow-up.

Yes, the issue also persists in Fullscreen Preview, and I also experienced it from the Edit Prompt menu.

I have already tried revising the chart multiple times, and I even recreated the chart from scratch using prompts. However, the result was still the same. Each time I updated it, the chart would briefly reflect the changes, but then it would revert back to the original/previous version again.

This issue appears to be happening within that specific project/file. I also tried duplicating the project, but the duplicated version showed the same result.

Until today, I still tried to update the chart using prompts, but it did not work. Since I could no longer fix or update it properly, I ended up deleting the chart.

At this point, I’m also unable to reproduce the issue again because I have already reached my credit limit on the free plan. So unfortunately, I’m not able to provide a new screenshot or screen recording of the error, since the chart has already been deleted and I can no longer continue testing it.

Is there any other solution or alternative way to investigate this issue without requiring me to reproduce it again?

Thank you for your understanding.

Best regards,
Via

Thanks for following up.

To investigate this further, please reply to your dedicated ticket (#1802801) with your file URL. Even if it’s difficult to provide a new screenshot or recording right now, having the file URL is the most important step.

As we cannot investigate individual file issues here in the Forum, the best next step is to work directly with our support specialist via email. I’ve already added the details you shared here as a note to your ticket to keep all the information in one place.

Our specialist has already reached out to you, so please check your inbox when you have a moment. I will close this forum topic now, please continue the conversation through your support ticket moving forward.
