Suspended Account "Signups from this email domain are forbidden"

Figma Support,

 

I just found out my Figma account [redacted by forum moderator to remove PII] that I have been using for months without any problems, was suddenly suspended as I was trying to log into it today. The error message says:

“Signups from this email domain are forbidden. Please use an email on another domain.”

 

I can understand blacklisting domains for new signups, but for an existing account!! All my files are now gone just like that, seriously?! Why did no one give me a heads up to change the email domain, not instanlty suspend me?!!

 

Now I had to make this new account just to send you this. Unbelievable.

Same problem with duck.com domain name. No answer from support for now. I can’t believe I lost all my files and project.

Hello Figma Support,

I need help changing the email address on my Figma account. I no longer have access to the current email connected to the account, so I can’t update it myself.

 

Please help me replace the old email with a new one.

Same issue with me yesterday. I am so annoyed because it is not even possible to create a report without having to create a new account that is not using my DuckDuckGo email alias. So, is this a permanent or temporary fix? Because I can currently login today with my DuckDuckGo email alias as of March 20, 2026. Should we change our email just for Figma?? I personally do not want to use my real/additional addresses anymore on any sites because email aliases should be a norm anyway in 2026 to prevent inbox spams and trackers, and to reduce the consequences of data breach. If companies don’t want users to use aliases, then companies should make sure not to spam and track us, and to keep our accounts safe. We shouldn't have to compromise our privacy and security by using primary addresses just because Figma’s security is too bad to distinguish between spam abuse and legitimate alias users. Banning well-known email aliases is a lazy move. SMH.
