Hello, I am trying to build a presentation and we need to rename all of the frames to numbers in numerical order (based on placement in file: left to right, then top to bottom) We are not allowed to use 3rd party plugins. Is there an easy way to do this using built in tools? Secondary question: Is there an easy way to link all of these screens from one to another in order for the sake of a prototype presentation. (Rather than exporting to Figma slides)

Red: I added this file to the library, and everything worked fine. Blue: I added it the same way, but it’s not in the library list, and I can’t search for any components from this library. I tried removing and adding it again, but it still doesn’t work. Does anyone know why?

Hey Figma community - is anyone having issues with text jumping up the frame on click? What’s happening is the following: I have design system components and my own components in a spec file, including inputs, buttons, etc. A lot of these instances have text props Clicking on the text, or even the component makes the text layer jump up. This is affecting text in auto layout too, where it will jump 1 or 2 times above the frame bounds of the box Only fix I have without resetting, is setting the text layer to align middle Otherwise I’m resetting all and reconfiguring my component Is anyone else dealing with this issue? If so, have you fixed it? Or what are your work arounds?

Hello, The instance swap function of component work in a way that I find disturbing. So I want to know if you have the same problem or if I am missing something. I have a component that work as a form container for other component. It’s basically a label with a list that can contain one or multiple sub-components. So, in order to change the nested components, I’ve created an swap instance attribute. But then, when I change a property of one of the nested component, all of the others one replicate the same change (see video attached Figma-recording.mov - Google Drive). Is it supposed to work like that or is a bug ? I know i could create different property for every nested component to avoid this problem but I would painful to use.

Every time I go to do some prototyping in Figma, I encounter a new bug or problem that causes me to spend hours trying to understand why it is happening and figuring out a workaround. The latest is I have a button component nested in another component combined with other components into a form layout. The button has variants and nested components for icons, style, and state. I am trying to attach a variable to the state so that when clicked it will switch from default to disabled (So that people will perceive that it can no longer be clicked). As soon as I set the State to use a variable it breaks the button variant Style so that the hover and disabled states do not retain the overrides. This is amongst several other issues including having the theme mode flash in the default theme (Dark instead of Light mode) for interactive components, and the infamous color change for instance swaps on nested components. And then to still not have proper drop-downs and actual text inputs or a table

The pen is too thick when I annotate. I need a thinner stroke as an option.

What am I missing?

These tools are really helpful for my projects, so I’d like to understand if this is a temporary issue or a permanent change. Thanks!

I cannot get a node to appear when I am trying to prototype. I’ve searched the similar comments before and that stuff isn’t working for me. I am in prototype mode, not design mode, I have clicked on the objects and selected “frame selection” and am still not able to get any node to appear to create a connection. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi all. I am attempting to use variable modes as a way to create one dropdown component, but many different contexts (i.e., Phone Type mode, Visa Type mode, Gender mode). I have string variables successfully dictating text in each mode for the input label and items. Because each type of dropdown has a different number of items (Phone Type: 4, Gender: 3), I am attempting to use booleans to dictate visibility of menu items. This is how my variable collection setup looks to accomplish this. And here is how I have the booleans applied to the component. I am hovering over “Row 2” to show that I have the variable applied to the right layer.However, when try to switch modes to show different types of dropdowns, I keep getting a bunch of white space below the items. It seems to correspond the vertical size of the variable-controlled items. Is it possible to give read access to an admin to see the entire console but without being able to change anything? Only reviewer mode. How to do it?

Hello, I was wondering how to make my dropdowns stay in place and overlap one another. They are also a part of a frame and would like for them to spill out of the frame if needed. I already messed with canvas stacking for “first on top” and it does not work. Thanks in advance!

Why does the edited text in the component not show in Preview?I need to check the Visible Options on the right for it to appear, but if i turn it off (because i want all options to be collapsed), the edited text changes back to the Master component’s text. Can anyone help? Thanks!  

 Vecton in Figma.Vector after be exported.I need help with a vector that was supposed to be "transparent" but acquires edges when exported. How can I solve this?PS: There are several vectors that are grouped together and make this symbol. I was unable to merge them into a single vector.

Today I use a component library built by me. And this week I'm noticing that some components that are being imported have elements being exported that are not visible even if the visibility is correctly enabled.

I have a nav component that shows a menu on hover I want to be able to use an instance of this nav component then change the state to show the menu on hover. Then in that menu, I want to be able to add click events  However,  when I test the prototype the click event doesn’t exist on the menu. I’m assume this is because it’s showing the menu from the main component, instead of the menu from the instance.  Is there a way to do this that maintains the components? The only way I can think to do this is to not add the menu into the main nav component but that seems unfortunate.  

Hi there. Our team is much smaller than before, therefore we think about downgrading the plan from Organization to Professional. I saw that “Branching and merging” is not supported in the Professional one. But what does it mean in practice? We have quite a few ope branches at the moment. Does it mean that we will loose access to them, or won’t be just able to merge them?Would be grateful for any insights on that.

Hi everyone! I’m creating a table with a row header component and I want to change the header’s state to a collapsed version based on the scrolled x position of table. The idea is that the row header has text when at x=0 and after let’s say x=-200, I animate a state change for the header component to a collapsed version so it’s sticky but not as wide. I can’t seem to find a way to detect the X value of a layer so I am assuming that I can’t setup the conditional statement in order to update the state. Is this a correct assumption or is there a workaround?  Thanks!

I'm developing a Figma plugin that scans and fixes styles with missing variable references. However, I can't find a way to unbind variables without recreating styles, which breaks library references.My current approach is to save style properties, create a new clean style, and delete the original - but this breaks all external references when using libraries.Is there a method to remove variable bindings without recreating styles? Can textStyle.setBoundVariable(propertyName, null) work for unbinding? Any plans to implement proper unbinding functionality?This is critical for design systems when variables are renamed or removed. Any insights would be appreciated!
