Hi,I need urgent help recovering a project file that suddenly disappeared.Yesterday I worked on it from my main device — everything was normal, and I closed the file as usual.Today, when I opened the same tab again (on the same and another device), I saw a message saying the file was deleted.I checked all folders, Recents, Drafts, and Trash — the file is gone.I also followed the official instructions from the Help Center (including checking the Trash and applying the "Created by: Anyone" filter), but still couldn't find the file anywhere.There were no sync issues while working, and I had full editing access — possibly even ownership.This project is very important and I need to recover it as soon as possible.I'm currently on a Starter plan and can’t reach email support directly, so I really hope someone from the team or community can help, or escalate this internally.Thanks in advance!

Hi everyone ! This is a question for the engineer / design team around the plugin API.First, a big thanks and cheers to the dev team for this API which is a real pleasure to work with.So for context, i’m working on a plugin, and i’ve recently subscribed to dev-mode in order to optimize it for dev-mode. My plugin is a code exporter, and there are multiple reasons that force me to write in the user design :removing things like border, radius, shadow, ... in order to define them as CSS rather than leaving them in the exported image (no serious front-end dev want that) for image-background, sometimes, it can’t be defined with the image fill because of some transformation (filters, crop...) and must be exported instead (node.exportAsync), in that case, the content of that node must be hidden before the export (since that content will be HTML dom) other reasons related to nested rotation which are a bit hard to describe in a short sentence.Of course, i make sure that each of those writes are

I was trying to clean up a file and move some older stuff to an “archive” file. I accidentally used cmd + x and cut the frames I wanted to move. Now when I try to paste them, Figma hangs for a minute, then the frames all show up as if the paste worked, Figma is unresponsive for a moment — then I get an “Open this file in recovery mode” modal, and when I do so all the pasted content disappears.You can see it in action here: https://monosnap.com/file/3VMxNwbMXEoFAkDcUNR2JH7t4jcmUQI can’t seem to get around this. I’ve tried the desktop app and multiple browsers. I’ve tried using a new file, restarting Figma, and wiggling my nose in every direction during the paste…Any idea how I can get these frames out of my clipboard and back into Figma? Is there some way I can paste the data into another app and attempt to break it up into multiple pastes? It’s not even THAT much stuff, but I guess it’s just a teeny bit over the line for what Figma can handle.Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

is there something you can do to make sure someone sees something different on your website every time you open it?

I'm designing a segmented control in Figma. I want only one item to be in the "Selected" state at a time — so when I click on an item, it becomes selected and the others automatically return to the default state.Is there a way to prototype this without manually creating a separate interaction for every possible combination? I’d like to keep it scalable if possible.I've heard that using Variables and "Set Variable" actions might help, but I'm not sure how to set that up correctly.

EDIT: in the title I meant to say “Hosting or platform” not “hosting domain”. Figma Sites sounds cool and handy, but I’m a bit of the fence regarding lock-in.What is official Figma stance on moving the website elsewhere for one reason or another.Who own the design? Who owns generated html and Javascript bits? (There is a little bit of React application going on, for what I gathered from browser DevTools.) Will Figma Corp be so generous to allow to download the project folder to take it to VS Code? I’ve noticed that DevMode tab is missing from Sites UI, does that mean devs are not welcome?

Hi everyone! I accidentally deleted all my drafts and slides while deleting team projects (all of it happened because of ChatGPT that’s said my drafts will not be deleted while deleting team projects and they will always appear in my personal files). Though the worst of all is I can’t restore any of them, they simply don’t appear there, it’s empty, how I get back my projects?

What could possibly be wrong? I have a Dev Pro Plan subscription, no updates, I have always had all the early Beta tests available, why didn't the MCP features show up? What should I do, help me please?Do i need to re-install app?  

Hello! I’ve run into an issue: initially, the text and input elements were perfectly center-aligned with each other. But after I started editing the text field, it shifted upward, and ‘Align middle’ no longer works. What could be the problem? I’d really appreciate your help!

Hi everyone,I'm facing a strange issue where the "Layout Grid" option is completely missing from the right-hand panel.This happens even when I select a Frame. I've already checked the following:I am selecting a Frame, not a Group or a Section. Auto Layout is turned off (there is no "Layout" section with a minus button). The Frame has zero rotation.No matter what I do, even creating a brand new Frame with the F key, the "Layout Grid" section simply does not appear. Has anyone experienced this before or knows what might be causing it?Thanks for your help!

Hi everyone, how to zoom both sides of the toolbar instead of the middle of the design screen? Thank you. 

Almost a year ago and this Bug is still present: Re-Center doesn’t work when linking to a component via Dev Mode link.Zoom level is totally zoomed out, making it hard for the devs to find the component. Pressing “2” or “Zoom to selection” has no effect.Please fix it. It has been a year!!!

When presenting interactive components with a hover state, the cursor sometimes shows the pointer hand on hover and other times does not. Curious if I’m experiencing a bug or missing a setting. Thanks!

@Junko3 This issue is still persistent today. Actually there’s 2 issues here, depending how the component is built: Firstly a nested component that uses slots loses any override when using variables, this is not the case when changing from UI For components that have nested components in the master pre-made, without using placeholders, it is not possible to use DIFFERENT variables if the variant property is the same. In my example the blue instance has a light and dark variant. The property name is “blueProp”. Because the blue instance appears twice in the green component, the “blueProp” also appears twice in the nested component panel. See attached video for these 2 problems. Master with pre-nested instances: No problem while using UI Same setup but I cannot use different variables for different nested instances Master with placeholders / slots: No problem while using UI Using variables breaks / loose overrides I can provide the file if needed. Hi, why can I not change the shape of a picture anymore freely without using a mask? It was so easy to do before, where did that  design option go? I would really love to use it in THAT simple manner (not masking pls) Also can we turn back the previous UI maybe?

I just upgraded to Profesional (full seat) so that I can, among other things, take advantage of the video feature — adding one to the workflow — and despite FIGMA taking my money and my profile now showing the blue “Professional” badge, the feature is NOT working. It’s still saying I need to upgrade. I tried the browser version and refreshed that at least 12 times, closed and re-started the desktop app at least 6 times and finally shut down and re-strted my Mac once...NOTHING! Worst of all, I submitted a support ticket (##1380952) and when completed, it showed me a summary at the end that said “Status: solved”. How can it be solved without anyone even looking at it or contacting me. So you take my money and then instantly tell me that my problem is solved? What a complete RIP-OFF! 

I’m struggling to configure projects in a way that lets Figma keep components synced between designs and the design system without destroying its performance. Is there any way to improve Figma’s performance while working with components? I watched their video, and they didn’t mention anything about addressing this issue. It feels like we’re being pushed into a setup that will be costly to change later on.

I have a foundation figma file with unpublished and published variables and collections. I am trying to apply such variables to another file with two ways: Importing the foundation file library to the file i am working on. With the command await figma.teamLibrary.getAvailableLibraryVariableCollectionsAsync(); i do get only the published collections so i do not have access to the unpublished ones. Using figma rest api endpoint GET /v1/files/:file_key/variables/local i get all the variables and collections but i cannot import the unpublished ones in my working file, so i cannot apply unpublished variables to the working file’s nodes. Is there any way to apply unpublished variables to a file through figma api? the weird part is that through figma ui the user can apply unpublished variables. Something goes wrong when trying to do so via code.Thanks in advance!

 We have a library of tokens with subgroups.token has a scope setting (like text tokens shouldnt appear in the list when user tries to select background color token etc) Scope setting works however empty groups are shown in teh dropdown (see screenshot, border tokens are not available):This behaviour is pretty annoying! Can you please hide grouping when no items available in teh group.
