hello, my daugther used Figma to take math lessons she’s got a tablet with a stylet but she can’t write on the documents because she’s only spectator. Her professor tell us that we need to plug a graffic tablet to a computer if she want to write on the documents. she hasen’t got a computer so we are looking for a tips how can use Figma with a normal tablet and be able to write with it on Figma ?

Hi everyone, I’m currently creating a homepage mockup for a website in Figma. I’d like to be able to show what it would look like on mobile and tablet devices, starting from this single mockup. Is it possible to do this, or do I need to create 3 artboards (one for desktop, one for tablet, and one for mobile)? Can Figma’s Auto-layout feature handle this with just one artboard? I think I read an answer about this on a forum, but I’d like to know if it’s still valid as of October 2024. Thank you for your answsers Have a nice day 😉

Hello! I am making a prototype with a “select interests” page very similar to Bumble’s. I am trying to figure out how to make it so that when 3 interests are selected, the rest will change to the deactivated state. Does anyone know how to do this?

Imagine a container (say a frame) 40 x 40. And, dozens of icons with different aspect ratios and sizes, e.g., 10x20, 30x5, 50x45, etc. I want to setup this frame (or a set of nested frames) such that when I drop an icon inside the inner-most frame, the icon automatically scales proportionately to fill the 40x40 container. So, a 10x20 icon when dropped inside, would automatically become 20x40 (i.e. it would retain the aspect ratio and not exceed the 40x40 limit). I know how to do this manually but am looking for an automatic solution. Would greatly appreciate a solution.

So I wanted to create a button that will copy the component when clicked and it can be used in a Figma after pasting But I can’t find any guide on how Figma Copy works and how to achieve that. Hello. Let me try to explain myself the best i can. First i have 0 knowledge and background on programming, so excuse me if i don’t refer to things as good as i should. I built a plugin with the help of chatGTP. In short this plugin fetches inside your current selection and retrieves all the styles used, the unstyled colors and fonts. I use it to transfer components between files and reapply the remote styles to their local matching styles. When they anounced Variables, i wanted to implement it to the plugin. So far i managed to list the variables bound to a node and list them in the ui. Then i noticed about the modes, and wanted to retrieve the mode applied to that node, with no look. I tried to fetch inside the whole variable collection and match the hex color of the variable bounded to the hex color of the different modes, and get the mode name by making a comparison. But this solution is not good because various modes can share the same variable value inside. So here i am now, i ha

I am trying to get the value of an alias variable from a remote library and I can’t get the color value. While in alias variables of local libraries it works perfectly using the id that has the “VARIABLE_ALIAS”, but for remote libraries I can’t access that value. Manifest is set with “permissions”: [“teamlibrary”], Someone has any idea what could happen? Thanks in advance

Is there a way to use percentages or ratios in Figma variables? I tried using number variables like 1, 1.5, and 2 as ratios for line height, but it doesn’t seem to work. Just wanted to check if there’s a solution.

On the new UI, I can’t see the pixel size of any element or component that have autolayout applied. It’s hidding an essencial information that I need to see constantly. Now, I can’t see it unless I hover, and it’s not only very annoying, but it’s not best practices. Bad UX Figma. Please bring it back.

Hi guys, I’m working on a multi-brand design system with one shared component library. My header component is also located in this library. My goal is to be able to change the logo in this header since it is going to be used for multiple brands. I have made another component which holds the logo’s of all the different brands. This logo component is nested in my header component. However, when I change the logo variant it keeps sticking to the aspect ratio of the default property. I do not prefer to make a header component for each different website since that breaks my main library. Is there a way around to achieve this goal?

Wondering if this is a bug or a feature that hasn’t been implemented yet. I’m trying to change the auto layout direction from ‘horizontal’ to ‘vertical’ on an instance but it doesn’t allow me. When I click on the direction arrow, nothing happens — however if I detach the instance, it works. I remembered it working before or maybe I imagined it did. Thanks in advance.

I am trying to use the eyedropper tool to copy a color that exists in an image that I have copied into figma. Can’t get the eyedropper tool to appear once I’ve selected the image. Not sure what to do.

Bring old UI back. I used it without any problem, now i can’t find tools properly, and toolbar why it’s bottom of the screen, it’s distracting me and it’s really annoying and it’s really lagging a lot, why separate Position and Dimentions? Almost in every design app these tool are next to each other. Everything was perfect untill UI3. If you don’t wanna change it then let people downgrade the version. I need prev version which I used almost a YEAR. Then i was able to attach files to community where is it and why i can’t attach anything? It says new users can’t attach files, i’m using community over for over a month.
