Export variable collections and import into a new file and keep all linkes of variable collections

I want to export my variable collection and import into a new file. All the plugins I found do import the individual variables and collections, but the connections/links are lost. This means my collections are no longer linked to the primitives, and instead, the hex values are displayed. Is there a plugin or any way to export the variables while keeping all the connections intact?
