Figma May 2025 update introduced squiggly strokes. This is great for designers, but how are developers expected to create them on the web? The Dev Mode code output just has a standard border stroke.   

I have design file created in Figma containing of our consumer site. Example attached. We have another website that is different but using the same variables seen here. So, I copied them into the new project so both are using the same variables in the properties section in the right for spacing, colors and width etc.If I update something in the main file like a variable color or text size, I will update it in the variables section in the new project file. Am I doing this right?Thanks  

I would like to format the message text when I create comments using the REST API (POST/v1/files/:file_key/comments)Something like this:curl -X POST -H 'X-FIGMA-TOKEN: figd_xyz' -H "Content-Type: application/json" 'https://api.figma.com/v1/files/ZXY/comments' -d '{"message":"This s a **bold** comment","client_meta":{"node_id":"1:360","node_offset":{"x":700,"y":10}}}'However, this creates the comment with the literal string in the Figma file and without applying any formatting, the comment will show up in Figma like this:“This s a **bold** comment”How can I create formatted comments using the REST API?I can see that the GET comment endpoint has an as_md parameter to get the comment with the markdown formatting, so I was expecting this to work the other way around too.Is this possible?

I’m currently making a Chants of Sennaar prototype for a school project using figma. I’ve come across this issue while making the annotation feature of the journal. When the user submits their text using the arrow button, i update the text variable of the bubble to the user’s text (see attachment). This works fine, however the bubble’s hug auto layout doesn’t seem to pick up the change and therefore doesn’t adapt to the new text’s length.The bubble’s auto layout propertiesIs there any way to fix this ? The text in itself also has the “hug” property and the bubble + text is a variant (if that changes anything).

I came up with an idea using Set variable in Interaction to swap background color of a button. Although I have both enabled and pressed color of the background, the value field are not currently supporting tokens in the Value field. It there a way we can avoid building a component set with enabled, hover and pressed, but to use variables to control? 

Hi everyone 👋I'm working on a large scale design system with hundreds of components, each containing multiple variants. In my design files, I use many of these variants across different pages. Before handing off my file to the development team, I want to identify exactly which variants from which components are being used throughout the design  and which ones are not used.My goal is to:\tGenerate a list of all used component variants across the entire Figma file.\t\t\tUse that list to clean up unused variants, so I can simplify the file or create a lightweight version for handoff.\t\t\tIdeally, this should cover multiple components, not just one.\tI’ve tried searching for plugins that do this automatically, but I couldn’t find one that scans all components in a file and lists their used variant combinations.Has anyone come across a plugin that does this?Or would anyone be interested in building one? Hi, last year I bought a design from the Figma Community and now I want to connect to the creator. However, his/her Figma profile url is broken. I can’t find his/her works any more on Figma.

hello! I was testing out a set up in a Figma file and I was wondering about a scenario where a component was updated in the Figma Design System library file by a designer, how would those changes be carried over to developers? Is there a specific command developers can run to pull the changes and update their code, or would they have to do this manually?The pipeline from connecting a component from code to design works just fine, so long as you don't have the file made yet. But once the file exists and for example a designer adds another set of variants to the code, then the generated code isn't updated anymore.To explicitly spell out what I was doing:I used the existing Simple Design System file from Figma Community and followed the steps laid out in the Code Connect docs.\tI also cloned the figma/sds Github repo to follow along the code aspect and had the React files just ready.\tI ran figma connect create with the Button component and it was successful; it created the Button.figma.tsx

Hello everyone! It used to be that I could select a frame or section, and the “mark ready for dev” option would be in the toolbar at the bottom of the screen.However now I cannot find the option to “mark ready for dev” anywhere in the interface. Where has it gone to? Where is it hiding? Please send help my devs are waiting.

 Hello, I’ve been a college professor for a long time and have been using Figma’s educational plan for my classes for a long time as well without any issues. Out of the blue today I got an email stating that my educational plan will expire in 4 weeks. I clicked on the get verified button once again on the figma website and got this.   I went back into my files and looks like nothing has changed. Should I get a confirmation email stating everything is ok or do I need to do anything else?  Right now I have four teams under the educational plan and I plan on adding a 5th. I doubled checked everything and it all looks good for now. I’m teaching a figma based summer class in two weeks and I want to make sure everything is good to go or if i’m missing something.  BTW I related this to education@figma.com as well.  I just would like any reassurance that what I have done is good and I don’t need to worry about it or if there is something else I need to do i’m directed in the right direction.

Hello dear community,\nI’ve created a 30-sec prototype in Figma using smart animation.\nAs I’ve seen that there’s no way to export any of that as a piece of JSON file from Figma directly, I had to re-create all those “smart animated” parts manually in Jitter, where I could export it as JSON. The problem began when I realized that Android and iOS couldn’t play those animations because I used SVGs for some graphics. Jitter offered to convert all SVGs to PNGs, and this workaround works only for the same viewport, which is not ideal, to say the least.\n\nThe ideal solution for me will be to have the ability to export a smart animation from Figma directly in a JSON format.\nThe second ideal solution will be to discover whether there is a motion design tool that supports Figma’s smart animation and is able to export the animation as a JSON format.\nThe third ideal solution will be to discover a motion design tool that a) gives the possibility to re-create manually what I did with the smart animati

Hey guys,I have a file with 8 small vector Illustrations in it and running into difficulties exporting them. If I export a pdf the vector illustrations will not be displayed in it, an error message appears: "not all elements will be shown correctly" If I export the file there are error messages because of the pixel sizes of the graphics. But I don't want to scale every element of the layout by hand and pixel perfect plugin was no use in this matter. Only way to fix it was exporting to SVG and the. Export the avg to pdf. What can I do next time?

Newbie here and really struggling on some very basic stuff.A couple of questions - When I try to extend my desktop frame on Myaccounts_v2, so that I am able to design below the fold, three of my icons also drag, I’m not sure what I’m doing wrong? Also with icons, on some of them I’ve been able to vectorise so I can scale and on other ones I haven’t. This is so basic but what is the exact way to do this?  Thanks
