Question

Hover interaction on vector shape instead of bounding box?

Hi everyone,

I'm running into an issue with hover interactions on vector shapes in Figma. Currently, hover states are triggered based on the shape's bounding box, not the actual vector path itself. This is causing problems for me, I'm trying to make a graph interactive, but because of the bounding boxes overlapping, the hover triggers incorrectly.

Is there any way to make the hover interaction respect the actual visible vector shape instead of the bounding box? Or is this a known limitation?

Any ideas or workarounds would be greatly appreciated!

PS I know there already are some topics on this, but they date from more than 1 year ago, maybe something has changed in the meanwhile.

Thanks in advance.

I think this is actually a limitation. Have you tried 'mouse enter' instead of hovering? Not sure if this will change the current behavior, but I'd give it a try.

@giliard Thanks for the tip. Unfortunately it didn't work :-( I guess the bounding box is leading withing Figma.
