Mostly I like to use figma on browser (with fullscreen) just because it has more space, because there is no tabbar on browser. So, my suggestion is, there should be an option to hide topbar (or tabbar) on figma app, so users on smaller screen like macbook air will have more canvas view. Most people keep open a single tab, Why to waste entire screen width with tabbar?. Something like “Dock” on mac os. You can hide it, but when mouse hovers on that area it will be shown.
I was super pumped to start using grids for my layouts until I learned of one fatal flaw that killed my excitement :( The inability to set a row height to hug is simply a deal-breaker for me. Also no variables support for gaps? really?
When working with SVG assets within a design system we’re often using named color variables that are part of the design system so that our designs support different color modes (light, dark etc) it would be super helpful if there was some way for these variables made their way into the SVG code (with a fallback for situations or usages where the variable may not exist) So in your SVG export instead of this: <rect x="0.331604" y="0.717941" width="20.9977" height="20.9977" fill="#ffffff"/> you’d get something like this <rect x="0.331604" y="0.717941" width="20.9977" height="20.9977" fill="var(--color-background, #ffffff)"/> which would then be able to be able to be dynamically changed based on what is being set for --color-background in the consuming web app.
The base background layer that I have in all of my artboards is a satellite map image that’s part of a library component. It has multiple backgrounds in the component that I can switch between (via visibility toggling). I opened Figma this morning and all of the images within that component have been cut down to a thin horizontal slice of their proper height. I can paste a new image into the component and it’ll properly display that, but the images already in the component have been corrupted. If I copy the component and try to paste it into another file the corruption comes with it. This is occurring only on Desktop, though. If I go to the web the images still appear properly. 🤔 I’m running 125.2.3 on a Mac running 15.4.1.
Why don’t Figma developers just keep community link in the top tabs?
Figma has removed the ability to switch frame between Portrait and Landscape mode (without adding rotation to nested elements). Now the only option is to “rotate” the canvas and it adds -90degress to everything that is designed within. Which also flips W and H. And if a component is designed in portrait and then added to landscape (rotated artboard) and you want to “fill” autolayout and contraint proportions totally mess up. I could make my own frame and use that instead, but I cannot save it as a template within Frame templates, super annoying. Bring this back please: https://www.delasign.com/blog/figma-frame-landscape-portrait/
After the latest update I see a LOT of this! Not when opening files, but zooming in / out, moving components etc.
Hi, team; I’m trying to access my Figma account. The log-in email is x***@**.edu, as I already lost access to this email, I cannot verify the account and log in to my Figma. Could you help me get access to this account, or can I update my email address from your end? I submitted two requested and they were automatically marked as solved. Thank you
Could you please add a new method that returns a Promise? setValueForModeAsync(modeId: string, newValue: VariableValue): Promise<void> I’m working with hundreds of variables applied across complex layers in my plugin, so applying changes can take some time, and the next modification in the queue might already be out of date when it finishes. Being able to await each change would ensure they finish before the next step. Thanks for considering!
Hello, I have a team member who is not able to interact on open sessions. This happens often and sometimes we are able to troubleshoot i.e open session on incognito. however, most of the time she is still unable to interact with the board. We also have send her multiple “can edit” invitations but when she accepts them is says she can only view. on my end I see her with editing capacity and don’t know what else to do. her name is Racquel Redwood redwoorl95@gmail.com. How can i resolve this recurring issue? Thank you in advance for your help
why figma getting slow. whether it is because of complex design components or any other reason.
Hi all, I’m running into an issue with Smart Animate that seems to be a recent regression. I’ve used Smart Animate successfully across multiple components in my file, and everything was working fine in Present mode until this past week. Now, some animations that used to work perfectly are either: • Not playing at all, or • Playing incorrectly (e.g. jumpy, incomplete, or skipping interpolation) Here’s what I’ve found through troubleshooting: • The animations still work when I isolate the animated component and test it on its own. • They break only when nested inside more complex parent components (which contain other nested instances). • Detaching the parent instance or simplifying the nesting restores the expected animation behaviour. • Clearing Figma’s cache and restarting the app had no effect. • I haven’t changed anything in the component structure that would explain this — it genuinely seems to have broken out of the blue. This leads me to suspect either: • A recent Figma update ch
I’m playing around in figma sites and I’ve got some specific text styles and crops on a component, but when I view it in the ‘preview mode’ all the styles get resset to default (ie font not showing up, clip content not working, etc). Anyone else having the same issue?
Hi We are are on professional Annual plan, 2 members went on Maternity leave, so If I downgrade them to view only, will I save the money from the 2 seats or is it lost forever unless I reassign them? Thanks in advance Andy
