I’d like to suggest the ability to expose fill properties—specifically image and color fills—as editable component properties in Figma. Use Case: In designing components like cards, avatars, or thumbnails, it’s common to have a placeholder image or color that needs to be customized per instance. Currently, to change the fill, I have to drill down into the component’s layers and manually adjust the fill, which is time-consuming and prone to errors. Proposed Solution: Allow fills (both image and color) to be exposed as component properties, similar to how text and instance swaps are handled. This would enable users to change fills directly from the right-hand properties panel when selecting a component instance, streamlining the workflow and improving efficiency. Benefits: Simplifies the process of customizing components with different images or colors. Reduces the need to navigate into component layers for simple fill changes. Enhances consistency and usability in design systems. I beli
Hi Figma Team, I need urgent help with two files that I have apparently lost all edit privileges on, although I created them from scratch. I now get the “This is an unassigned draft file - Ask any admin to move it into a different project.” message. I really don’t know what I could’ve done wrong, and I can’t find any indication that this was created in a different project or team. If so, how could I even tell or know who to contact? as far as I know I’m the admin on these files. Please help me out! these are very time sensitive. Thanks in advance
Hi Figma Team, I’m encountering an issue after a recent update where “Copy as PNG” (Cmd-Shift-C) no longer works for images, frames, or groups up to 4096 x 4096 px—which was previously the maximum import size without resizing. Before the update, I could copy a selection as a PNG, paste it into Photoshop for edits, and then (ensuring it stayed within the 4096 x 4096 px limit) paste it back into Figma – either replacing the original or as a new variant in an image component. Now, attempting this results in the attached alert. Was this an intentional change, or is this a bug? Would appreciate any insights—thanks in advance for looking into it! Best,Steve
Please add YAML to FigJam code blocks. Others languages are also welcome in addition to this.
I use the Scale options a lot and 9 out of 10 times I know exactly what size in width or height I want to scale to. I also use Tabs a lot to navigate through options whenever possible. In the new UI when I click K and open the Scale options the first focus is on the 1x multiplayer and the Tab goes through the alignment box, it takes 20 tabs to go from the multiplayer 1x option to the Width input. In the old UI, I click K to open the Scale properties, press Tab once and enter my Width… I believe that most users will agree that the Width and Height inputs should come next after 1x in the tab order. (I am not even sure what that alignment box is supposed to do exactly , I have never used it.)
Please, Figma, listen to your customers. We don’t want UI3!
What I can’t stand the most is that the panels of the new UI can’t be attached to the edges. They leave some gaps, wasting the space to display the main design and operation area. And visually, these gaps are also distracting my attention. The toolbar at the bottom also interferes with the main operation space, especially if its color is the same as my design draft. By the way, is it just for the convenience of novices to move it from the top to the bottom? If someone who uses Figma more frequently, he will use shortcuts instead of mouse clicks to trigger these functions. So I hope that adjustments can be made in time in the official version of UI3, otherwise these redesign will seem like a subjective conjecture of someone who doesn’t use Figma much.
When working with multiple shapes, you currently cannot edit the anchor points of multiple shapes at once whether they are unionized or not. At my studio, we are working on incredibly complex UI for vehicles, and products, and this feature would be much appreciated, and would greatly increase the speed of our workflow.
We need to pay the annual subscription and are considering using a credit card. Do you know if any fees apply with this method, or is it more convenient to use another method, like a bank transfer? Thanks
Hey! I was watching Figma like the pros: Figma like the pros - Christine V, Eugene F, Femke van S, Helena Z, Joey B, Molly H, Rusmir A - YouTube Molly was showing how to hide the collection (with “. or _”) from the color menu, but that feature doesn’t work for me. If I want to use Primitives and Alias tokens I have to scroll trough long lists of variables. And Color scoping doesn’t seem to work for me too. Am I the only one? Cheers from Latvia 🙂

Hi, I just noticed that my team subscription has tripled without my awareness, likely due to past invite links I shared with others. I wasn’t aware I needed to manually remove those people from my team. I’ve now gone ahead and removed everyone, but it still shows 5 available full access seats. I only need one full access seat and want to make sure I won’t be charged extra for the additional ones I no longer need. Could someone please clarify whether there’s a way to remove these available seats, or confirm if I’ll be charged for them? Thanks so much for your help! ________________rn, I see “6” on the People page of Figma, but after i click into “Manage ”, there is only one user (my own account) .
Figma doesn’t have a native way to export variables for devs, so I rely on 3rd party plugins. I even wrote some myself to get around this basic missing feature. Plugins that I used in the past have now stopped working. I’ve also tried some new ones. None of them work. Plugins load, but pressing buttons to fetch variables and export variables don’t work Even some plugins that I developed myself stopped working. When I run them, I now get console errors that weren’t there before. Why Figma doesn’t have a native way to export variables is beyond me. Too busy with Figpals, I guess. We have a deadline to hit, and now I need to manually export hundreds of variables for my devs. Very much not ideal. Is this a known issue?
I have an Accordion component and would like it to have a border of 1px solid lightblue on all sides, and a thicker border-left of 4px solid darkblue. How can I achieve this in Figma? How can I set different thicknesses and different colours on the borders of an object?
I set IPhone 16 as my prototype device, hence "On Tap" turns into "On Click". However, now, when I play my prototype, even when I tap anywhere other than the element I chose for a specific animation, it changes to the next frame! It's as if the animation wasn't needed at all :( How can I fix this?
