I recently received a message stating that my Figma Education Plan has expired, even though the Education Plan is supposed to last for two years, and I have only been using it for one year.Since my circumstances have not changed and I cannot afford the premium plan, I reapplied for the Education Plan, but my request was rejected with giving this meesage: You’ve already used up your free access to the Figma Education plan.Upgrade your plan to keep creating and editing unlimited files, or create a new Professional team.Is there a time limit for accessing the Education Plan?I can't afford the premium plan so plz allow me to use educational plan as there are my bootcamp project that I can't view or further work on.

I work a lot with branches. I also set all kinds of annotations for developers there. I use different categories in the annotations to be able to categorize them better.If I then merge the file, the categories are reset and the annotations no longer have an categorization. Can this please be changed, it is quite time consuming to add all categories again 🙈

Is it just me or are the text search buttons in FigJam (when searching via Ctrl+ F shortcut) behaving exactly the opposite way from what to expect?To illustrate, this screenshot shows what I am referring to:When clicking on the “down” chevron, I’d expect to go to the next search result (3 of 57). Instead, what happens is FigJam jumps back to the first search result (1 of 57).Likewise, when clicking the “up” chevron, I’d expect to get to the previous search result - instead, FigJam navigates to the subsequent one. I cannot see how this would make sense, as intuitively, I would associate a downward pointing chevron button with “next” and an upward pointing chevron with “previous”.It seems to be a bug - please fix!

Hello!My team is working in Dev Mode, and we have noticed that measurements and annotations occasionally can’t be deleted. The measurements are only removed after reopening the file.Is there a known fix or workaround for this issue?

I recently, or better, had since a year of trying to fix it, the issue that any font i downloaded did not work. (Exept for the sega logo font, which isnt on my pc.) draging in the file does nothing. Restarting, reinstalling everythinf including fonts and the desktop program / font-into-figma-shover in various ways, downloading diffrent fonts did not work, manualy installing fonts did not work, and yes, i did restart, shutdown and start, and updated figma in a year. So, since i now KNOW that the problem is not coming with a clean instalation of figma and is not caused by me. i recently also found out that a bot answers the questions after that by leading to a help article that explains you how to install fonts, not troubleshoot, just installing. the troubleshooting page for the issue that has been “solved” and the answer pointing this page out was “most helpful” (figma closed the thread by sending the user to an irrelevant page) was about Adobe fonts not showing up. i have the same issu

When exporting Frames (that include text) to .pptx, the background or decorative shapes—such as rounded rectangles or masks—are often missing in the exported file, leaving only the text.This results in a significant loss of visual fidelity and breaks the intended layout.I strongly suggest that, at minimum, the entire Frame should be exported as a PNG image to preserve its original appearance.This issue has caused major difficulties when using Figma to design presentation slides, and I hope it can be addressed or improved soon.

Hi everyone, I’ve noticed something over the past few weeks that feels like a UX regression, and possibly even a bug.Before, when working with elements like a button frame, I could add properties like Fill, Stroke, and others by clicking anywhere in the gray area of that section on the right panel. I didn’t have to aim precisely at the small + button or the label. It felt smooth and natural, and helped me move quickly.Recently, that behavior changed. Now, I have to click directly on the + button or the property label. Clicking the gray area does nothing. It may seem like a small thing, but over time it creates micro-friction. When you add that up across many interactions, and for many users, it becomes a noticeable slowdown.One reason I think this might be a bug is because the Export section still works the old way. If you click the middle gray area there, it triggers the export action. That inconsistency makes me think the change in behavior might not be intentional.If this is just a

Hi everyone,Previously in Figma, I could select multiple parent layers (e.g. instances with the same structure), press Enter, and then Tab through their child layers in sync. This was extremely useful for making consistent edits across similar components or groups.However, I’ve noticed that this behavior has changed recently. Now, when I select multiple layers and press Tab, it only highlights the first selected layer instead of allowing me to tab through the children of all selected layers simultaneously.Has this feature been removed or changed?Is there a new shortcut or setting I need to enable to restore the previous behavior?Any help or workaround would be greatly appreciated!

Hello awesome Figma makers, I’ve just upgraded to a pro account with full seat, but do not see the AI option in both iOS app and browser.  In browser, there is an icon which looks like AI, but it seems to be a menu navigator only. I’ve also enabled AI in the admin settings.  thank you 

I’m not able to select into the text layer to make text edits. I’ve read previous discussions from a few years where people have experienced the same thing. It might have to do with the mouse tracking speed change, but I tried adjusting that as well. Would anyone have updated solutions? Thanks!

Material theme builder version 20, released in May 2024, is not operational. The plugin generates theme colours but does not update them in any project files other than the original kit project. This means that if you had any work using Material 3 kit, you are not able to update the theme since May 2024. It is not possible to do any theme-related M3 work with a custom theme since May 2024. Themes in any project that people had done in Material3 UI Kit cannot be updated anymore since May 2024. There is no other Material theme builder plugin. We are hostages of the situation. There are tens, if not hundreds, of reports on the M3 DK page and on the Theme Builder itself page where it has been ignored since early 2024. It appears that version 20 of the plugin was released untested, and the development team was immediately reassigned or disbanded. Nobody from the Material team reads bug reports; nobody responds. I am building a tag component and for now it has 2 sizes. I am using an avatar component inside. For the S size tag I need avatr with size 16 (set as a variant property) and for the tag size M I need to set size 20 avatar. Previously I have done the exact same thing but for some reason when changing the size of the avatar inside the size M tag it gets changed inside the size S as well.  Because I’m rebuilding the components (avatar and tag) I have the absolutely the same setup with the old components and there is no such behaviour. The avatar is the same just split in different variants and the tag has color and other variant adjustments.In the same tag I’m using an icon component with simillar size setup (with variants) and changing the size in one of the tags does not translate into other variants. It only happenes with the avatar. I tought it might be because of the aspect ratio since it’s new and I added it to the new avatar but turning it off doesn not change the behaviour.

Two problems exist.First, when creating two drag events in Prototype, it appears on the screen that both have been successfully created, but when retrieving information through the REST API, you can confirm that only one is obtained.Second is the Actions of Node type. This is represented with a DestinationId of null. Then how can we know where it navigates to? We can find out through another property called transitionNodeID, not interactions. However, since it's a string type, if there are multiple Actions of Node type in an interaction, this cannot be properly represented and only expresses the destination of the first Action.

I’ve accepted the team invitation a few months ago but something was wrong as i have to request access to every file i wanna see.I asked my boss who said i should have full access and showed me the admin panel where i was listed as having a seat on the team.I have double checked the email, its my company email so i should have access for sure. When i look at my home dashboard theres nothing that tells me I’m part of my team, it says my account is free version. As per the description. After logging into your account and clicking on the question mark on the bottom right (both desktop and web app), the menu pops up with options. I subscribed to the Professional Collab seat. My email, my name, my Figma account, my team, my project, yet everytime I want to create a design file it has “request” beside it and I can’t edit design files. It says “I can only view and comment on this file - ask to edit”. Why do I need to ask permission to myself?! And eveytime I send a request to myself the notification says “requested.seat.full seat.my team - adds 1 seat at $16/month”!How can I fix this?

We’re experiencing an issue with the #get_image tool in MCP. While it appears to retrieve the image successfully, the image does not render correctly in the actual implementation. This issue did not occur in the early stages of using MCP. Has there been any known issue or update related to this?  

While working on a file, when I collapse all layers (OPT+L), it seems like Figma starts syncing the file, which makes it extremely slow for a few moments. I didn’t have this problem in the past.

Hello,we have a huge issue with slots in our design system. From one day to the other, without any reason our slots in components are treated like they have been overridden (e.g. border color, bg color, ...). Those styles are then inherited to swapped components. You can be 100% sure that we didn’t customise the slots and all components have been tested extensively before, so why do they now have overrides? Where do the come from? What has changed in Figma?The only solution is to go through all components in the system and reset the slots. Honestly Figma should save time not add additional work on our shoulders … Hope you can help us to find out what is causing this issue in Figma and how we can prevent such things in the future. Attached you find a file showing the problem.ThxHarald

I understand the limitations of support for Starter accounts, but I'm reaching out again because this is not a minor issue — a critical file I worked on for months has disappeared without explanation! It's not in Trash, wasn’t deleted, and no team was removed. The file simply vanished, and I’m left without a trace except for a screenshot of the design. This is deeply frustrating!I had been seriously considering upgrading to a paid plan, but this lack of support in a time of real need has made me lose trust in your platform. I’ll now be exploring other providers who offer more reliable service and accountability.Please escalate this message internally. Losing user data without any accountability is not acceptable.

Previously, clicking on the blank area could directly fill in the color. Now, I have to click the “+” button, which greatly reduces the interaction area. What was the thinking behind this? Can it be changed back?

Hi, I just noticed an issue with merging a branch to main file. I am trying to merge as usual, the main file updates for few moments but after that if reloads back to the state before merging. The branch is not taged and not archived. I tried to create merge branch on another file and new branch on the same file and both merged with out a problem. So not sure if this is a problem with size of the file or branch, some conflicts (none pops up), or with whatever else. Anyone had similar issue or know the solution? Thanks in advance, Cheers,

When you create a navigation frame link you see a list of the pages you can link to. Often you might have some template or alternative designs on the PAGE to keeps nice links for easy swap in/out, but unforunately you then get this:Contact Contact - Simple Version Contact - Column Version Contact - Alternative Simple Contact - xxxas you an see there could potentially be dozens of frames to link to all starting with Contact. Start typing is gone?Previously you could start typing, e.g. “CON” and then it will select the first match, however, I’m not sure when it happened but you can’t do that anymore, as soon as you type the charcters, those are now interpreted as commands, so you might might end up changing to drawing mode, or jumpin to the parent component becuase of the hotkeys you pressed. Add a search/filter?If we can’t have this type to filter behaviour back, please at least add a filter search box at the top of the page selection, so we can at least filter by CON - which will show
