I am a current student at the University of Michigan and have been using the Figma for EDU for the last two years for my UX schoolwork. I was informed I needed to re-verify, and have been having issues with SheerID. They denied my request to re-verify and would not share reasoning why. I am a current Michigan (Ann Arbor) student and still have two years of school left. I believe I fit all of the qualifications for the EDU account, so I am not sure why I was denied. I need my Figma EDU account to complete coursework necessary for graduation, which is why I am hoping to understand what I can do to make sure I keep the EDU status.Thank you for any advice/guidance!

Our customer currently has two independent Figma Enterprise contracts/organizations. SAML SSO and SCIM are already configured and working correctly in the first organization. Hi Figma Support,We are investigating several ownerless files in our team and found the following documentation:Remove access to teams Files are missing after remove the member from the team Ownerless File – Can't Claim Ownership as Team OwnerBased on the documentation, we understand that files can become ownerless when the file owner is removed from the team.However, we noticed a different situation in our workspace:Some files are showing as Ownerless Files. The original creators of those files are still active members of the team. These users have not been removed from the workspace or the team. In some cases, the files were created directly within team projects.Could you help clarify:Besides removing a user from a team, what other situations can cause a file to become ownerless? Hello,I’m having an issue where my Figma Education verification has been successfully approved by SheerID, but the Education plan is still not available on my Figma account.SheerID Support confirmed the following:“Our records show that your verification request was already approved. Hello Figma Support,I’m contacting you regarding my recent billing.I was charged $51.10 on August 30, which was significantly more than I expected for my Professional plan.I invited another person to my file for feedback and review. They made some minor edits by adding text and images, but they are not someone who uses Figma to create or work on designs themselves. I understood this to be similar to reviewing or making minor edits on the Starter plan, and I did not realize that this could result in an additional paid Full seat.After seeing the unexpected $51.10 charge on my invoice, I realized that there was an issue with the seat assignment and removed this person from my team/seat.During this process, I also noticed that a Collab seat appears to have been added, which I believe may have happened accidentally while I was trying to manage and remove the seat. I have 6 Days left to verify my Figma Education plan, and I am unable to do so because I have currently hit the verification-limit reached warning, and even previously I would encounter a “We couldn’t continue your verification” message regardless of what browser I used.I have reached out to SheerID (both on their website form-contact page and through their Figma email) and also to the Figma Education email, but I have not received a response despite the extremely urgent nature of my matter (I am the owner/admin of my university organization’s Education team). Losing my Education status will be detrimental to everyone on my team.Please help me out. 

The problem is very simple. And it makes me go completly crazy 😂When I have various elements, I used to select all and auto layout them. but now it modify automatically the size of the element within the auto layout frame. I don’t know how to keep them when I’m creating an auto-layout.  

 Hello, Figma Support Team.I am writing this to request an urgent refund for the amount of dollars recently withdrawn from my account.(I had previously canceled the Figma Professional subscription and restricted team members from making any further payments or upgrades. Also, whereas it was previously paid with a small amount, this time it was paid with an absurd amount, which I cannot accept and cannot payHowever, on (September 4, 2026), (66.00 us) was charged without my consent. As a student currently living on a tight budget, these unexpected expenses are a significant financial burden for me. Since I am a member of the education plan, I do not need the paid subscription service, so please urgently refund the full amount that has been charged without authorization.

If I created a Figma make file in the team’s personal drafts, then got removed from the team and later re-invited, how can I recover that file? I asked an admin to move the now‑orphaned file into a team‑owned project folder where I have edit permissions, but when I try to move it into my personal team drafts, I still can’t. The only way to move it is by copying the file first. In this scenario, how can I move the original file directly?

Hi,I'm running into a bug and would appreciate your help. I moved some files from one team to another (I'm the owner of both teams), and since the move, the files aren't displayed anywhere, they don't show up in the destination team and folder when I browse it. I can still find them through search and open them from there, but if I right-click on the file and choose "Show in folder," it takes me to the folder they should be in, but that folder appears completely empty.I own both teams, so this isn't a permissions issue. It seems like the files still exist and are individually accessible, but they've lost their visible link. Thanks in advance for your help! 

I created my Figma account with a Professional license this morning. When I create files inside folders, they don’t appear in the folders themselves — I can only find them in the Recent tab.I’ve tried moving the files from one folder to another, but nothing changes. My coworkers are experiencing the exact same issue: they can see my files in the Recent tab, but not in the folders.We also tried deleting the folders. Figma tells us that they contain files and that those files will be deleted if we delete the folder.However, when we try to move a file from the Recent tab into a folder, Figma says that the file is already located in a folder.Has anyone experienced this issue or knows how to fix it? Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Open the comments panel and click on a comment. If the comment thread is long and doesn’t fit the vertical height of Figma window, it forces the open Figma document to scroll upwards to accommodate the full comment thread, which causes the UI to shift upwards with the top part cut off, and an empty space of equivalent height displayed at the bottom of sidebars.The frustrating part is that the scroll is locked, so I cannot scroll back down to fix it. The only immediate fix is to reload the page.

I’m experimenting with refactoring a loading spinner component to use the new Figma Motion features, to leverage the new motion variables (duration and timing). Previously we had animated the loading spinner by creating a looping rotation using prototype interactions.I’ve set it up to rotate 360deg with a duration of 1000ms. I’ve dragged the motion timeline to 1000ms. Previewing the animation on the master component works as expected.However, when I add an instance of this component in another Frame, Page, or another Figma file the motion timeline changes to 2000ms. The spinner is no longer continuously spinning, it pauses in the middle.How can I ensure that all instances have the set 1000ms timeline duration?

However, there are libraries that I need that are not shown on the list even if I search for them.Are there any settings required on our library files for it to be used in Make kits?

I have a button component that I had built a long long time ago before Figma changed how variants worked / a lot of the new functionality was built that made them more flexible.This component is set up where I have a skeleton for a button with two sizes and a bunch of possible toggles (for icons, labels, etc), a second component which includes that skeleton as an instance which has all of the state / color variants, and a third icon-only component with specific dimensions for each size to keep them square that has the main button component with the skeleton instance nested within it.My issue is when using the icon-only button and changing the variant of the underlying button component (e.g. to change the style), and then changing the size of the icon button, the skeleton instance resets, undoing all overrides to the skeleton. This only happens when changing to a different variant of the button component - if I use the default button variant and make changes everything works fine.I’ve i

When driving a FigJam file through the Plugin API via an MCP integration, I hit three reproducible problems in one working session. Filing together since they all stem from Plugin-API-over-MCP reliability.1. Cross-page reads return empty. Reading a page's children for any page that is NOT thecurrently active page (e.g. figma.root.children[n].children where n is not figma.currentPage) returns 0 nodes, even when the page clearly has content. Only the active page reads correctly. This makes it impossible to reliably inspect or verify content on other pages.2. Cross-page clone/append fails silently. Calling .clone() on a sticky and appendChildonto a different page produces no visible node and throws no error. The operation reports success but the content never appears on the target page. Recreating nodes from scratch on the active page works; moving/cloning across pages does not.3. Edits don't reliably persist / possible transaction rollback. I have a component for a quote box with two variables (large and small). The quote text box has a text property applied (so that if I change the copy, it stays the same when I switch between variants). I did have the text in the large one set to a larger text style than the small one. But now, when I try to edit the text, it changes the text styles in both versions to match. I want to be able to have the text that is in them linked, but not the text style.This has been an issue since the latest update.

Hello Figma folks!We have a large design system, and a part of that design system is a separate detached library file that houses ONLY variables.We have three variable collections: spacing (margins/paddings), border radius, many colour variables.There are two obvious bugs:First: a library that has no components will not be visible in many of Figma’s panes. In the example below, there is one more library added to this stack, but it’s not visible. I have to create one dummy component for the entire library to become visible.  With one dummy component added:  This looks like an obvious bug. Libraries should be visible regardless of what they have inside of them.  Second: when we do somehow manage to get this library visible, the number (#) variables in it are not usable by other Figma files. They simply cannot fetch/use them. For example, this is what’s in the library file, you can clearly see Border Radius number values being defined: However, any of the files that consume this library c

When I invite a new user to a Figma team and give them access to the entire project and its folders, the folder contents are not displayed consistently.Some folders appear completely empty, while others only show some of the files. In some cases, all files are visible as expected. The user has editing access to the team/project, but they still cannot see all of the files and folders they should have access to.As a workaround, I have to manually invite the user to individual folders again, even though they already have editing access at the team/project level.
