Question

RELEASE.json is out of sync with actual Figma.zip version

Hello Figma Support Team,

I am writing to report an issue with the macOS desktop app update mechanism. It appears the version metadata file on your update server is outdated and out of sync with the actual installer payload.

Currently, the endpoint used by package managers and deployment tools to check for the latest version: https://desktop.figma.com/mac/RELEASE.json (and the mac-arm equivalent) ...is reporting the latest version as "126.10.13".

However, the actual installer file downloaded from: https://desktop.figma.com/mac-arm/Figma.zip ...already contains the updated application version "126.11.7" (verified by inspecting the CFBundleShortVersionString inside its Info.plist).

Because of this discrepancy, auto-update scripts and MDM tools (like Installomator) that rely on RELEASE.json to verify if an update is available are failing to trigger the update, as they incorrectly believe the app is already on the latest version (126.10.13).

Could you please escalate this to the engineering/release team so they can update the RELEASE.json file to reflect the correct version currently hosted in the .zip payload?
