Cannot transfer files from one Plan to another due to missing admin privileges

We need to copy all files from one Plan (e.g. Plan A) to another Plan (e.g. Plan B) but cannot find the "Send a copy" option in settings. We are a guest on the Plan A, and the only admin there has left the organization, preventing us from initiating the transfer. Hence requesting to find a solution how we can copy all the files from Plan A to Plan B Account or would like to be connected with a specialist to resolve this issue.

We have also raised a ticket # 2217800  for our problem but no one has responded to us, Requesting to kindly help.

Hi @Gayani_S ,

Thank you for your quick reply, really appreciate it.

We were successfully able to copy the files by following the below instructions that you provided

If you only have one or two files to move, you can save a local copy of each file and import it into Plan B.

  1. Open the file and go to Main menu > File > Save local copy.
  2. In Plan B, drag the downloaded file into the file browser.

Thank you so much. The Ticket # 2217800 can be closed.

Regards,

Application Manager

Hey @Application Manager, I’m sorry you haven’t heard back on your ticket (#2217800) yet. I’m escalating it internally now, someone from our customer support team should be in touch with you soon.

“Send a copy” is only available to admins, and you’ll find it in the folder settings. Guests can’t be given admin access, so you won’t see it as a guest. If Plan B is an Organization or Enterprise plan, the person receiving the copy also needs to be an organization admin there. You can read the full steps in Transfer a folder or team to a different account.

If you only have one or two files to move, you can save a local copy of each file and import it into Plan B.

  1. Open the file and go to Main menu > File > Save local copy.
  2. In Plan B, drag the downloaded file into the file browser.

Can you check whether you see ‘Save local copy’ in the File menu on those files? If you only have can view access and don’t see it, someone with can edit access may have restricted copying, and that’ll help our team find the right route for you.
