Hi, I had the pro plan but now is on the starter. Why is free editing restricted and must require a paid professional plan but enabled free editing in my other “founder’s team’ workspace?[Moderator note: The title of this post was updated from “Free Editing” to “Editing locked after downgrading from Professional to Starter plan” on Jan 11, 2026.]

When attempting to create an alias for a variable, the Create Alias panel opens behind the Variables panel instead of appearing in the foreground. As a result, the Create Alias panel is partially obscured and cannot be interacted with, preventing alias creation. ReproducibilityYes, the issue is consistently reproducible. Hello Figma Team,I’ve been trying to verify my student status for the past three months but haven’t been able to complete the process. My university does not provide a university-issued email ID, so I submitted the required documents instead. Unfortunately, my verification was cancelled, and after multiple attempts it now shows “limit exceeded.”Access to the student pass is very important for my academic and design work. I’ve already contacted SheerID, but they were unable to resolve the issue. Hello Figma Support Team,I recently noticed an additional charge on my invoice under "One-time charges and credits." It appears that this was caused when I mistakenly assigned a team member as an Editor, which automatically added a paid seat. As soon as I realized this mistake, I quickly reverted the member back to View-only mode. Since this was an unintentional action and the additional seat was never actually used, I kindly request if the related charge can be canceled or refunded. I understand that Figma charges automatically when a seat is upgraded, but I would greatly appreciate your understanding in this case, as the change was accidental and corrected immediately. Thank you very much for your assistance.  Best regards,   

Hi everyone,I have colors defined as variables in my project. Is there a way to edit the assigned token in the variables directly from fill?I can't find such an option. So now, to edit them, I have to go to variables and find the token in the collection. In my opinion, it's a workaround.

Hey Figma Community!!!My company is switching our design system to use Untitled UI Figma Library (Variable version). I’ve managed to apply our colors using the variable panel but now I’m tackling the font and how boy I’m struggling… If you’re familiar with Untitled UI, they’re using Inter as their body typeface. Inter has all the font weight you can imagine, including Semi-bold. In their component lib, they are using the Semi-bold font-weight A LOT. My company font only has Regular, Medium and Bold (no italic) and it’s been perfectly fine. My issue is as follow: I was able to replace the tape face in the variables by just renaming the Value for font-family. BUT since Untitled UI used Inter and specifically Inter Semi-bold in a lot of places in their components these instance now have an interrogation point when it calls to semi bold… Is there a way, in the Variable panel or the Styles to tell the document that every text layer currently using semi-bold needs to switch to medium?The onl

I recently started using FigJam, and while I really enjoy it, I am missing one important feature: the ability to upload images from the mobile app.This limitation is quite inconvenient for me and makes me hesitate to purchase a paid account. Hi fellow Figma users, I have registered and am a student of an ongoing bootcamp. While every one of the students has full access to the bootcamp Figma files, my access keeps getting changed into view only. The admin of the bootcamp has been in touch with Figma multiple times and they approved my account, but I still get the same problem, and the issue has not been resolved. We are half through the bootcamp, and I only had full editing access for the first week. This is very frustrating, and I cannot participate in any of the group activities. I also have no way of contacting Figma directly to solve the issue with their assistance. has anyone experienced similar issues? @dvaliao @Celine_Figma

Like thousands of other students, I tried to activate the Education plan to use Figma for my studies.Your verification partner, SheerID, first blocked me with a generic error: "Verification Limit Exceeded."I followed the support procedure ("Get help") as instructed. The response I received was an insult: a SheerID agent informed me that my request could not be processed and that my "ticket has now been permanently closed."With no explanation, no reason given, and no way to appeal.I am now stuck in limbo: I am a real student, eligible for the Education plan. Your external partner has blocked me and "permanently closed" my case. As a result, I am unable to access the tools that are essential for my education.  I’m having this afterimage and resolution bug on the desktop app   Every component leave this afterimage that fades away after 1 or 2 seconds (sometimes they don’t)  This problem started today (01/08)  It’s occurring only on my desktop, on my laptop it’s normal My Pc specs: Processor AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D 8-Core Processor Video Card NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3070 Operating System Windows 10 RAM 32 GB

What does the figma dev package offer, the one for $15, does it give 3000 AI credits and how do I track my AI credits to know my usage and know how to use the credits wisely. 

I have upgraded to professional . I still cant work on any of my projects i think they are in view only mode. I am the only one on my team so just looking to work on my own stuff 

After receiving an email notification titled “Subscription renewal reminder” for my annual subscription for two full seats totaling $384.00, I downgraded the seats to view-only in order to cancel my subscription.Despite this, I was invoiced $384.00 today even though the seats had already been downgraded. This is an error, and I should not have been charged.Additionally, there is no clear way to contact support, the billing system is extremely confusing, and there is no straightforward process to downgrade or cancel a subscription.I am requesting a full refund of $384.00.

When in either the app or browser based Figma app, I am encountering a bug when I attempt to select one or more items. When making the selection, the selection bounding box, flashes on and off making it difficult to see what’s selected and not selected. This seems to happen consistently after I have been working in the app for a while. Refreshing in the browser seems to fix the issue but for the desktop app, i have to restart it.

Hi I’ve tried three different prompts within figma make but when it’s done doing it’s magic the preview area isn’t showing anything. Just a blank page. However when I open the code editor I do see code. Am I doing something wrong here or am I missing something?

Hi guys, would love to get your help.I am trying to create a component (demonstration below) of a square in figma that when you hover your mouse on it it shows a picture in the square, and then i entered it into a a different component that repeats itself in a frame (like a square grid).I want that when you tap on that component, it changes the variant state of the Squarescreen which is a differnt component. Saw a youtube tutorial and the problem it created was that when i tapped on it it only made the hover state of the component freeze so it looks like it just made the picture stay there but i want it to change the state of the variant in the squarescreen. any help please?
