Question

i want some refund

I am writing to request a full refund for a recent subscription charge of $27 that occurred on 2026-03-08.

This charge was entirely unexpected as I no longer have a need for the service and had intended to cancel the subscription prior to the renewal date. Unfortunately, I overlooked the cancellation process, and the subscription was automatically renewed.

Since the charge, I have not used any of the paid features. I would greatly appreciate it if you could review my account and process a refund for this transaction.

Thank you for your time and for providing such a great tool. I look forward to your positive response.

Hi @ljellen — welcome to Figma Forum. I’m glad we got in touch.

I’m not able to access or share account-specific billing details in this space, but I did check in with our Product Support team. I can see they’re taking a look at your request under case: 1783458, and they’ll follow up with you directly once they’ve had a chance to review the details.

While you’re waiting, this guide may help provide a bit more context around how charges can appear during plan changes. For example, if seats are added before a downgrade or cancellation takes effect, those can still be prorated and reflected on the final invoice: Upgrade or downgrade your plan → Downgrade or cancel your plan.

Please keep an eye on the email inbox associated with your Figma account for their reply. They’ll be able to review the specifics and help you from there.

Hey @ljellen, I’m stepping in on behalf of @Tom Reem to help here!

I’ve taken another look at your support ticket (#1783458), and just to clarify what happened: your subscription was upgraded when you began using features that require a higher-tier plan (like editing design files). That upgrade triggered an adjustment charge, and your subscription then renewed on that upgraded plan for the following billing cycle.

Because the upgraded plan was actively used, and the renewal went through as part of that continued usage, the charge isn’t eligible for a refund under our billing policy. Payments for Figma subscriptions are non-refundable. See more in Figma's Terms of Service.

To prevent seat upgrades, admins can set seat approval settings to "Manually approve seats" so all upgrade requests require manual approval. Additionally, admins can downgrade users to free View seats to restrict access. Adjusting these settings ensures new seats are only added with explicit admin approval, preventing automatic upgrades. Hope this helps, let me know if you have any further questions!
