After last update, I cannot use Figma for desktop anymore :(It wasn't told it was going to happen, and now I am looking for a downgrade for an older version.Is it possible? How could I do that?Thank you!

Hi everyone :-)I’m trying to prototype a menu that stays fixed in the bottom-left corner while scrolling, but stops (or “sticks”) right before reaching the footer so it doesn’t overlap.In real code this would be a simple position: sticky with a stopping boundary, but I can’t find a clean way to reproduce this behavior in Figma.What’s the best way in Figma to simulate a sticky element that stops before overlapping another element (like a footer)?Any tips, alternative workflows, or plugins that could help?Thanks in advance xx

The Figma Universe is a feature rich universe with many possibilities and does only work with architecture mindset. So for UX Designers for example, but they are complaining a lot anyway… There are so many learning curves and concepts which do not show any usability, obvious logic or intuitive workflow, if you do not take some lessons. I tried to find a summary, video or help documentation, which are there but have lose ends… So the figma dschungel is good for specialised Architects, but there are thousands of alternatives meanwhile, most of them are just small AI Apps which have solutions to certain parts of a workflow, like wireframing ect… The more easy way is Canva and the Affinity Suite, which is for free now...

i’m developing a plugin to help product manager and developer to share information with figma.the information will bind to figma node. and the information maybe  some rich text content.for user experience we need to store the information temporay in user’s local machine. but figma.clientStore has the limitation of 5MB peer plugin. so, my question is how can i store data more than 5MB  I tried indexeddb but i got err looks like figma plugin can not use it.

Hi,Our team has been creating multiple pages using Figma Make. However, we realized that all the pages are in separate files, and we can’t figure out how to connect them with Prototype mode.We want to: Combine several Make pages (Landing, Dashboard, Courses, etc.) into one Design file. Add Prototype links between the frames (e.g., from the Landing page to the Dashboard). Is there a way to convert or duplicate Make files into regular Figma Design files so that we can use the Prototype feature?

Hi all,My team is trying to connect Figma and GitHub's Cloud Coding Agent (not GitHub's local VSCode coding agent). Our end goal is enabling the cloud coding agent to access Figma MCP tools like  “get_code”/”get_design_context”. Since there's no public plans yet on any direct connection between the two, I have questions about potential alternatives:Are there any plans or current capabilities for Figma MCP to support a PAT or API based authorization? This would be incredibly useful for apps that don't use Oauth like GitHub's Cloud Coding Agent. In the past, when you created Colour Styles and Text Styles, you could (along with identically named components) swap them out for each other by using the “Swap library” functionality in the Libraries panel. That functionality still works, and is great. However, Variables don’t seem to swap over in the same manner, which makes some sense as they’re not detected by the “Swap library” panel currently. Is there any way you can switch out Variables in batch when swapping libraries so they update everything eg colour, padding margin, booleans etc, or am I unable to use Variables for anything outside of local styling for now? For context, I’m creating a design system for a white-label product that can swap the associated branding on the fly depending on the target client. Naturally, colours, fonts, logos etc need to be switched out, and they work fine with the older method of library definition, but Id like to be able to specify padding, margins and other similar properties

Hi guys!I’m working on an app where at the last minute the font was changed. It was easy to swap… only the new font (Cooper Hewitt) has a wildly different vertical placement in the bounding box. See how it aligns close to the top: For the app launch for dev this was a relatively easy solve, as you can adjust the vertical alignment. But moving forward with the project I could really do with the Figma designs not all looking misaligned!Vertical trim seems the only option. But the paddings within my components were based off of the previous untrimmed font. Which means I would need new spacing measurements, which is bad as then the devs would need to redo all those, or ignore my new measurements. Hi,I'm trying to build a prototype using Figma Make from a number of screens I have.For example, I have a project with a large number of screens, and I want to create a prototype for it. I started with 3 screens.Normal screen (closed menu), a screen with a pop-up, and a screen with an open menuEvery time I insert screens into Figma Make it changes my design completely.When I try to be specific (for example, make the buttons in a system of hover and selected states) Figma Make deletes all the screen content and makes me a style for 3 buttons... I want a prototype with style.When I ask to restore the content that was deleted for me, it returns, but without the previous request.When I tried to simply insert one screen, it finally uploaded my screen as it is. But all the buttons are distorted, out of the frame. Everything is messy :(I have components, I have titles, I have layer names. It seems like I have what I need.What am I doi

Recently figma updated rate-limits, and i need orientation/insights on how to handle the implication of that in my project.So, our project used figma REST API to extract a JSON and images from design journeys on figma. Using that, we validate a series of internal rules on how to develop screens journeys for our organization.The thing is, this solution is used by a lot of designers , and they dont have the dev mode or a seat that allows them to make more than 6 requisitions/month (and they need way more than that).The only solution for that would be run the application on a personal token that has a higher seat? Or is there a way that i can upgrade the rate-limit of the application itself? All designers that use this application making a seat-upgrade would bring us much cost. I’m trying to understand if i have any alternatives here. I saw something about the API Tier having different rate-limits. Is that something i can work with or change? Maybe ch

I’m feeling like an idiot. I’m on a professional plan, but I can’t find any invoices in my email and I can’t find anyplace in the Figma site to download previous invoices. This should be easy…been looking for 15 minutes and can’t find anything.

When I started prototype, all text layers changed into placeholder, and it keep glitching. I don’t know why :/Does anyone encounter this issue? 

Day 1 using FigmaI just want to use Figma Slides right now … and trying to get used to it vs Keynote.I understand how to hide the whole UI.But I want to hide JUST the right hand margin of slide - as the working space is so small compared to Keynote - which is an issue working on a 13inch laptop -anyone help please?Thanks 

My Mac runs 11.7.10 and can’t update to 12.  I have just updated to the latest version of Figma app which now tells me it won’t run on my Mac. Is there any way I can get back to my previous version or am I now going to be forced to buy a new Mac?
