Question

Can a Weave MCP run be restored into an editable Canvas workflow?

Hi everyone!

I'm using Figma Weave with Seedance 2.5 Reference through the official Figma MCP integration in Codex.

My Canvas workflow is connected to an Output node and exposed as a Tool. The agent can pass updated prompts and reference files through MCP and successfully generate videos.

However, the Canvas and the Tool view I have open in my browser still show the previous setup. I cannot visually inspect or edit the actual inputs used for those MCP runs without replacing the prompt and reference files manually.

I understand that creating and editing Weave workflows through the official MCP is not currently supported.

Has anyone found a practical way to:
• Open an MCP run in the UI with its exact prompt, reference files, settings, and output?
• Restore or duplicate that run into an editable Canvas?
• Keep the agent's runs and the browser workflow aligned without manually rebuilding the setup?

Would using a separate workflow or published Tool for each scene help?

I've already emailed Weave support, but I'd also appreciate any working approaches from other users.

Thank you!

A follow-up after watching your tutorial, 'How to Save Nodes, Settings & Groups in Figma Weave':
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8hmCpfQCrAk

Could the Saved feature also be used from Tool view to save the actual setup of a completed Tool/MCP run, then drag or import it into an editable Canvas?

Specifically, we want the reference files and prompt supplied to that particular run, its model settings, and the generated output—not just the original workflow defaults.

The latest generated output is visible in Tool, but the reference inputs still show the older individual images rather than the updated character sheet supplied through MCP. Publishing with Create tool and then using Update tool did not bring those run inputs back into Canvas.

We understand that Update tool publishes Canvas changes to the Tool. Is there a reverse operation such as 'Save run as workflow', 'Restore inputs to Canvas', or duplication with the run's actual inputs? If not, is there another supported UI, API, or MCP workflow for this?

Any confirmed approach would be appreciated. Thank you!
