Question

Why don’t connector lines work properly with frame instances?

When using FigJam connector lines to map user flows in a Figma design file, I can attach either end of a connector line to any element within a regular frame. However, when I manage each UI screen as an instance of a screen component, I can no longer attach the connector line to any element inside that frame instance.

A component instance is one object. Connector ends can snap to children of a plain frame, because those children are real layers. Inside an instance they are not targets, so the end snaps to the instance bounds and stops there. Hold Cmd while you drag the end if you only need it stuck to a point on that instance. It will not follow a button inside the instance when the layout changes. For a flow, connect screen instance to screen instance.

Yeah bro, I’m still looking for the most effective way to annotate designs completely for free.
