Figma Professional Team Account Limiting Users to 2 Active Logins — Need Help

ROAS Design Squad

Hi everyone,

We’re using a Figma Professional Team account, and recently we’ve started facing an issue where users are being kicked out, and only two users are able to stay logged in at the same time.

This restriction wasn’t there previously, and multiple team members were able to access the account without any issues.

Has anyone else experienced this recently? Is this related to a change in Figma’s login/device policy, or is there a recommended way to resolve this?

Would upgrading the plan or creating a separate account under a new email address be the right approach?

Any guidance would be appreciated. Thank you!

Is this a new Figma policy or a temporary bug? An official clarification would be appreciated.

Kartik_Gajjar

Same issue we are facing. Support portal is also down today.

Hey everyone, Celine from the Community Support team at Figma here. Thanks for pinging me!

From your description, it sounds like multiple team members are signing in with the same Figma account, which is why some are being logged out as others log in.

It's always a priority to us that you can continue your work uninterrupted. Figma may log out some older sessions if suspicious login patters are identified to prevent security issues or abuse, in line with our Acceptable Use Policy.

If multiple people on your team need access to Figma, the recommended approach is for each person to use their own Figma account and be added to your Professional team with the appropriate seat type (e.g. Full, Dev, or Collab), rather than sharing a single login. This is the supported setup and will help avoid users being signed out unexpectedly. Hope this clarifies!

@Kartik_Gajjar : Regarding your comment that the Support portal is down today, we aren't currently aware of a broader issue. Could you let us know what error message you're seeing here? Feel free to send us a DM with the email address you're using to access Support, and we'll be happy to take a closer look.

Emerge Digital

We are also facing the same issue, so earlier it was accessible on multiple devices but from today, it is not allowing, so please advise if this is a temporary change or  it will be like this and what action needs to be takeb

Hey @Emerge Digital , thanks for chiming in. Based on what you've described, this sounds like the same behavior discussed above.

As mentioned, Figma may sign out some active sessions when it detects activity that appears suspicious or inconsistent with our acceptable use policy, including potential account sharing.

If multiple people on your team need access to Figma, the recommended approach is for each person to use their own Figma account and be added to your team with the appropriate seat type, rather than sharing a single login. This is the supported setup and will help avoid users being signed out unexpectedly.

Hope this helps clarify things!

Dear Figma Support Team,

We are currently on a Figma Professional plan with an additional Full Editor seat ($192/year).

Recently, we encountered an issue where the user assigned to this Full Editor seat is unable to log in across multiple devices simultaneously due to a session limit (we require around 5–7 active sessions at the same time).

Since this seat is dedicated to a team environment where the user needs access across multiple work computers and testing devices, the current device restriction is creating a bottleneck for our workflow.

Could you please advise if there is a way to adjust or extend the simultaneous session limit for our account? If this is a strict policy constraint, we kindly request that your team consider allowing up to 5 or 7 active sessions per full seat in a future update.

Thank you for your time and assistance. We look forward to hearing from you.

Best regards,

여러 팀원이 아니라  개인이 멀티 디바이스로 테스트 하는 경우에도 세션 로그아웃이 되어서 굉장히 불편합니다. 버그인지 정책인지 알려주세요

We’re facing a similar issue since Tuesday as well, and when we confronted our account manager with it he wrote us that Figma “haven't historically enforced the Acceptable Use Policy with the same rigor we're applying now”, meaning that Figma changed the way it enforces its policy.

We’ve set a budget in advance for the annual subscription and the fact that Figma decided to change the way it enforces its policy in the middle of our contract, while not allowing us to adjust the number of seats we have or let us know in advance is problematic to say the least.

They way we see it is that If level of policy enforcement is decided on a whim and without notice, then it can be applied to pricing or account management terms as well.

Hey @Celine_ , how many devices or session can be active or login at the same time with one account?

Funny how it started at the same day they released their Q2 report, the one shown a massive spending on AI resulting in a 15% stock price drop

Thanks everyone for your feedback, we’ve shared it to our internal team as well.

@Menghorng_Eng To clarify: there isn't a fixed number of sessions we enforce against. Figma looks at a range of signals that can indicate suspicious or unusual account activity, rather than a single concurrent-session limit. So this isn't a dial we can adjust for a specific account on request.

@Celine_ I’ve been told this week from an official Figma rep that Figma “haven't historically enforced the Acceptable Use Policy with the same rigor we're applying now”, reffering to the change made last week.

This means to me that Figma can adjust the way it enforces its policies mid-contract, and if it can do it with AUP, it can also do it with other terms and policies i.e. pricing, data, ip, etc. this is troublsome.

HI @Celine_ ,

I understand the Acceptable Use Policy, but the use cases of some people are different. One of our seats used to be logged in to 4 different company systems on the same IP, so any team member could access all the projects and previous data for various reasons. But that account keeps logging out now. Which is frustrating. Obviously, not paying $192 for 4 different accounts just for project access.

On the other hand Claude works fine on the same IP on multiple devices.

They created the constraint out of the blue, just because they felt like it, and now are asking us to pay for it, without providing any real solutions. It’s a cynical abuse of power. We’re already testing other vendors, to make sure we’re ready when our contract ends. We can’t trust this kind of behavior,.
