Dynamically reduce text font size or scale to fit parent container?

I need a single line of text to fit within a container without wrapping, breaking the boundary, or truncating. I need the text to get smaller when it gets too long to fit, either by reducing font size or overall scale. The text is dynamic, so I can’t reliably tell how long it will be to pick an ideal font size. Things I’ve tried: Standard left and right with top and bottom constraints, but if the text becomes too long, it wraps and breaks the boundary or truncates. Using text auto width with scale constraints, but the text just grows outside the boundary. Using text auto width then wrapping it with an auto layout, thinking the layout could hug the text and use scale constraints to get smaller, but hug resizing and scale constraints are mutually exclusive. Is there any way to do this dynamically?

I’d like to remove the available seats

Navbar doesn't stretch

 Hello everyone,I'm trying to create a sticky navbar for my portfolio. I have a main frame with Auto layout set to a vertical direction. I've placed my navbar frame inside this main frame and set its position to Absolute position.I also went to the Prototype tab and enabled Fixed position when scrolling for the navbar.The problem is that the navbar sticks to the top-left corner, but it does not stretch to the full width of the page. It's leaving a blank space on the right side.I know that Absolute position takes a layer out of the Auto layout flow, and I've tried to set the navbar's constraints to Left & Right, but it's still not stretching as expected.My main frame is 1440pxwide, and I need the navbar to always fill that width while remaining sticky.Has anyone encountered this issue or found a working solution? Any help would be appreciated!

Can't find 'Auto Layout Panel'

Hi dear community, I have no idea how to catch those panel.After create a auto layout and choose the , those panels should appear sometimes will appear and sometimes I can find it no where, I don’t know in what case the panels will be show?

PDF export - text not selectable

Hi all, I created some designs that I exported as PDF. I have two problems with the result: The text is not selectable (I tried Mac’s Preview and Safari). The files are rather large (1MB for an A4 size design, no images or vectors, just a few text bozes. Any ideas how to overcome this? (I would try to avoid bringing it back my design to Sketch.

How do I turn this off??!!! (pink adjust auto layout spacing).

This auto-layout frame is a child/inside a basic frame that I should be able to move things around in.  How the heck do I turn this off when I hover over to click and drag. all I want to do is drag the group/autolayout over a bit manually and arrows in this small space are producing too large of a move. this comes up for me a ton and it’s insanely annoying. I can’t click and drag without it also changing the auto layout spacing.  if I want to change that I will go to the tool sidebar and do it myself.  I don’t need this pink stuff trying to do it for me just because i’ve hovered over it.Also, FYI - I couldn’t even screengrab it through the OS, because this literally happens on hover, so I snapped it with my phone - hence the bad photo, apologies.

❓ Is it currently impossible to sell a Figma plugin—yes or no?

Hi all (and hopefully someone from the Figma team),I’m writing this post after spending days trying to figure out whether it is currently possible to sell a Figma plugin, and I’m honestly shocked at how contradictory, confusing, and out-of-date the information is across the official documentation and forum posts—even posts by Figma staff. I’m not alone in this confusion. Let me lay out what I’ve found and where the contradictions lie. 🔒 1. Official documentation (as of now) says the Community Seller program is closedFrom the official documentation on selling Community resources:“Note: We are not approving new creators to sell paid files on Community at this time.”This implies that unless you were already approved long ago, you can’t use the built-in Stripe-based seller infrastructure at all—meaning you cannot charge for your plugin through Figma in any official way. 🌐 2. Normally the library files show a little icon in the lower left of the tile thumbnail image that looks like an open book. One of my files is showing a new symbol I’ve never seen before and I don’t know what it means. Anyone know?Symbol I haven’t seen before.

How to revert the last change figma make provided?

Hi,Using figma make and designing a mobile app with the help of AI. It was going well but I didn’t like the last change made and asked for a revert, but didn’t revert the last changes properly, only some of them. is there any way to work like versions? so i could revert a change quickly without losing anything?Thanks in advance

Why are Colour thumbnails not appearing in colour library dropdown?

I’m having an issue in my Figma Design file with colour library for past few days. Inside the colour library dropdown, the colours I have added from my Design System are not showing any thumbnail. I can see all the colour variable created in the Design System but none of the groups are showing colour thumbnails. Once I switch from grid view to list view in the colour library dropdown, I can see the complete list of all the colours and they are working correctly. But I’m still not seeing the colours thumnail associated to the variables. I’m attaching screenshots to give a better context of what the issue is. Any idea what I’m doing wrong or any suggestions to resolve this?Not able to see the colours in colour libraryCan see the colours in list view but colour thumbnail is still not visible

Education Plan Verifying Issue

I received the message 'We have successfully verified your education status!', but I didn’t get the 'Welcome to the Figma Education Plan' email, and nothing has changed in Figma (I still don’t see the Education Plan features after verification).

Help making Jira MCP save images on filesystem

Hi everyone,I’m experimenting with running the Jira MCP server locally in VS Code alongside GitHub Copilot. My goal is to download a design image from Jira and use it with another tool to compare it against a screenshot of the built feature.Here’s the issue: My agent seems able to fetch the image (I can see it being used in the chat context), but I can’t get it to actually save the file locally. With Playwright MCP, I can easily take a screenshot and save it to disk, so I know saving works in my setup. What I’ve tried so far: Following all the available configuration steps. Adjusting the prompts to explicitly ask Copilot to save the file. Testing with Claude Sonnet 2.5, Gemini 2.5 Pro, and GPT-4.1 inside Copilot (same results). Has anyone managed to do something similar: downloading/saving Jira design images via MCP with Copilot?What options or workarounds should I explore?Thanks in advance!

Component overrides get broken after library publish

We’re experiencing a random problem with component overrides in our design system which consists of multiple library files. Our components use an atomic structure, where small individual components are combined (sometimes with overrides) to create larger components. The problem we’re facing We’re using some components in a design file and they have overrides applied to them. When a new library update is published, taking the new updates in the design file breaks our overrides. The component properties/variant selection is intact, even the value of the overrides are intact, however the instance would either loose border radius, or have its alignment changed or the layer name resets to the original name from the atomic component. This happens to some specific components, and not others. And this also happens randomly, sometimes some components break, while others don’t. We tried recreating the whole library from scratch with a few components to see if the problem persists, and unfortunat

Using Plugins with Figma Make and exporting design only

Hey everyone,I’ve been using Figma Make to build my website and noticed that it generates a lot of React code with many components. I have a few questions: Is there a way to export or download the entire project as a .zip file, instead of manually copy-pasting the code into my local environment? Since I don’t need all the React code, is there a way to export only the design, or better yet, convert or export the Figma Make project into a Figma Design project? In Figma Design, we can use plugins like Builder.io — are plugins like that also available for Figma Make? Would really appreciate any guidance from anyone. Thanks!

Connecting to a Figma template via API

My marketing agency has a proprietary content creation platform (we control all aspects of the backend, etc.).  After written content is created, we typically copy and paste the content to a Figma design template. Via an API connection, is it possible to create my written content and simultaneously have it populate in a Figma template? Or even populate as comments? Currently we use the batch import functionality in Figma Buzz but now I'm interested in directly connecting a Figma template to our platform. Is this API connection possible? Thanks!

icon colors visible in both figma modes dark and light?

my icon set looks ok only in figma app interface LIGHT mode. But, when I switch via CMD+K “use DARK mode”, my icons are the same color (kind of black) as figma app interface bg color! I could make them gray, but this is silly. there must be a better solution i guess?

Figma Make versioning limits

Hi team, we have been prototyping some fairly complex web app concepts, and just wanted to understand what happens as we get into really high version numbers (e.g. up version 95 in the one I am looking at right now) – would like some understanding/reassurance of the limits before we really start orienting our prototyping process around Figma Make.Is there a limit on how many prompts a single file can have? Are there any risks in having a file with very high numbers of versions? I saw another post saying their file stopped being able to iterate at version 900 because of how large the prompt was getting (with all the history). Is there a way to “fork” a new file, and this file effectively restarts at version 0 – I was surprised that duplicating retains all the previous versions.Slightly worried about the usage limits of roughly 80 prompts per month – I could do this in a morning!
