Figma Text formatting issues

Hello community,

We are experiencing a recurring typography-formatting issue in Figma that is affecting our production workflow.

Observed issues:

  • Superscript text automatically reverts to normal text.
  • Bold text changes to Semibold without intentional user intervention.
  • Text formatting appears to change unexpectedly in existing design files.

We need your help determining whether this is a Figma product bug, a font-related issue, or a file-level problem.

As this affects production deliverables, we request that the issue be investigated by the relevant product engineering team and that we receive a clear root-cause analysis and recommended resolution.

We can provide affected file links, screenshots, a screen recording, and reproduction steps.

Please confirm receipt and advise on the next steps for investigation.

  • Please share the file where this is happening. You can share it with us by adding support-share@figma.com as a Viewer. This will not affect your seats or billing.
  • Please share a short screen recording showing the formatting changes, including what triggers them.
  • Does the issue occur after editing text, applying styles, or reopening the file?
  • Also, does this happen across multiple files or only specific ones?
