Maybe there’s a workaround I’m not aware of — any help would be appreciated.I’m trying to create a card component with text and an image. The tricky part is the image: it should be flexible and support different aspect ratios across component instances.In the main component, I use an image placeholder for the visual. However, when I swap that placeholder with a real image in an instance, the image always conforms to the placeholder’s dimensions instead of preserving its original size/aspect ratio. I tried different auto-layout options but nothing worked.I’m looking for a way to build this so that the image resizes based on the card dimensions and it’s own aspect ratio, rather than forcing all images into the same fixed size. Another possible solution (and probably a better one) would be for the image to always fill the card width, while the height adjusts automatically based on the image’s original aspect ratio. Is something like that achievable with components and Auto Layout? Here’s

I’ve just started to use Figma Slides, I want to be able to change the colour of the pasteboard surrounding the slide but unlike in Figma Design, I can’t see an option to do this. Is it not available in Slides? 

I have created a set of wireframes to simulate the user interface of a scientific instrument we are developing. Wrestling with yet another gap in basic Figma functionality.I’ve inherited a design file w/ an extensive set of variables -- lots of tokens, primitives, etc. I just want a single, top-down view of how the variables were organized and their values. Basically what you can see (but can’t print or export) from the current variables table view. Can’t do it, even with plug-ins -- I get variable NAMES but not values if the values are other referenced variables. AND THAT’S WHAT I NEED TO REVIEW!This should be a basic management feature. Figma is deferring too much basic stuff to plug in developers which puts the onus on users to 1) do additional research into plug-ins and 2) learn the ins/outs of plug-ins of varying quality. If someone has a solution I haven’t found yet, LMK. Hi everyone,I have colors defined as variables in my project. Is there a way to edit the assigned token in the variables directly from fill?I can't find such an option. So now, to edit them, I have to go to variables and find the token in the collection. In my opinion, it's a workaround.

Hey Figma Community!!!My company is switching our design system to use Untitled UI Figma Library (Variable version). I’ve managed to apply our colors using the variable panel but now I’m tackling the font and how boy I’m struggling… If you’re familiar with Untitled UI, they’re using Inter as their body typeface. Inter has all the font weight you can imagine, including Semi-bold. In their component lib, they are using the Semi-bold font-weight A LOT. My company font only has Regular, Medium and Bold (no italic) and it’s been perfectly fine. My issue is as follow: I was able to replace the tape face in the variables by just renaming the Value for font-family. BUT since Untitled UI used Inter and specifically Inter Semi-bold in a lot of places in their components these instance now have an interrogation point when it calls to semi bold… Is there a way, in the Variable panel or the Styles to tell the document that every text layer currently using semi-bold needs to switch to medium?The onl

Hi fellow Figma users, I have registered and am a student of an ongoing bootcamp. While every one of the students has full access to the bootcamp Figma files, my access keeps getting changed into view only. The admin of the bootcamp has been in touch with Figma multiple times and they approved my account, but I still get the same problem, and the issue has not been resolved. We are half through the bootcamp, and I only had full editing access for the first week. This is very frustrating, and I cannot participate in any of the group activities. I also have no way of contacting Figma directly to solve the issue with their assistance. has anyone experienced similar issues? @dvaliao @Celine_Figma

What does the figma dev package offer, the one for $15, does it give 3000 AI credits and how do I track my AI credits to know my usage and know how to use the credits wisely.

Hi guys, would love to get your help.I am trying to create a component (demonstration below) of a square in figma that when you hover your mouse on it it shows a picture in the square, and then i entered it into a a different component that repeats itself in a frame (like a square grid).I want that when you tap on that component, it changes the variant state of the Squarescreen which is a differnt component. Saw a youtube tutorial and the problem it created was that when i tapped on it it only made the hover state of the component freeze so it looks like it just made the picture stay there but i want it to change the state of the variant in the squarescreen. any help please?  

I have a problem. Last month, I was mistakenly charged for an extra seat. I removed it, but I was billed again. I don't need six seats; I want to pay for five. Please issue me a new bill for five seats. Remove any random options that could have arisen due to someone's mistake and would have resulted in a price higher than five seats. Hello, I have a problem with emojis. It’s impossible to add them in project.I’m on Windows 10 and I use the desktop app. When I open the emojis window, whatever the one I select, it does not appear in my frame or layer’s title.How can I fix this ?

I’ve been designing data tables using components and variants. My setup is as such: Cell component is nested in a Row component, Row component is nested in a Table Component. Cell component has a text property and 2 variants for mobile/desktop. Row component has 2 variants for mobile/desktop. When I change the row component to the “desktop” variant, which also switches the Cell component to its “desktop” variant, the text property gets reset by to its default, and I have to key in all the Cell text again. Is there any way to avoid this? Thanks!

I can't go back to a specific point in time or restore.When I restore to a previously saved location, Safe Mode pops up. After confirming and going to the restore point, it takes a long time to load and then asks me to refresh. When I restore again, Safe Mode pops up and the above message repeats.I need to restore. Please help!

I’m trying to build a coverflow carousel like the one in this community file:  Though I’ve copied over step by step and same prototype settings, I’m unable to interact with it like above (i,e., it doesn’t slide with the cursor; it just smart animates into the next screen). The only difference is that the community file contains only an image within the frame, while I have primarily text in auto layout. How can I correct it? 

I've set up Code Connect CLI in Figma to create mappings between Figma components and my component library. The mapping works correctly when accessed through the local MCP server - I can retrieve all the component mapping information as expected. However, when I switch to using the remote MCP server, the same request returns only an empty object {} instead of the mapping data.

When editing in Figma Buzz, I can only see this button that says ‘Edit Content’. But my coworker can see an additional option to ‘Change Layout’. We’re working from the same template file; why don’t I have this option? TYSM

I have run into an issue where all of my figma slides have a pink hue overlay. The center of the slide is a darker pink while the border of the slide have a light pink color.  This appears regardless of the slide format or template I use.  The color is even present on new slide files.  However, the color is not there when in presentation mode.  Please see attached file for an example.  Seems like there should be a simple solution.  I am using figma in the safari browser.  Never seen this problem before.  Thanks for the help.

Are there any keyboard shortcuts in the Figma Home screen to navigate quickly, similar to how they work inside a file (Slides, Design, Site, etc.)?I love using shortcuts in Figma—I'm still learning, but I feel very comfortable with them. However, while navigating the Home screen, I tried to use the Search field to find a file and felt a bit limited. The 'Tab' key doesn't seem to work. I’m mentioning this because in Notion, you can use Cmd + K to search for any page instantly. I’d really appreciate any help or tips! Thanks!
