screenshot from Figma standalone appHi all, I’ve been attempting to learn Figma on my own for a year or more. I’m still stumped when it comes to how to tell my developer about padding and margin and special characters. I’d like the dev to use the … ellipsis special character but the best I could do in Figma is to tighten the letterspacing of three period characters, and leave a comment on the board. I’ve read here on the forums that designers are unable to communicate margin without an invisible spacer box?I have laid out this tiny card view which could show up as a card on its own, or have a active state with the yellow highlight ring, or have a photo under it. For now, I’ve turned the card alone into a component. I stretched the text box of the number id 593052… to touch the blue border  and added 4px paragraph indent. (because when i originally built it, i moved the blue selection box of the text 4 pixels over from the edge.) I don’t have a way to indicate padding for the right edge

My education plan expired, so I paid for the pro plan, but all the existing files are gone...The email address is the same, and there is nothing in Draft or deleted files.I don't have any special emails..What should I do in this case?I can't even connect to the pygma link I wrote before

Hi there! I discovered slots are now in open beta and I'm really excited to get started with it. However, in my design system I previously used the Slot Editor plugin. How I'm looking into how to migrate that. I've checked the migration docs Figma offers but I don't think it applied to my use case.For example, we have a fold component which structurally looks something like this:in which the "Content <slot>" is what we use for the plugin.Just turning that into a Figma slot doesn't work, as updated instances lose their slot content.Anyone found a workaround for this? Or will it require an entire rebuild and check of all instances (Which are a lot) ?

Hello. Macbook Air resolution is 2880. The size of the layout in the Figma app is 1920. If I zoom to 100%, the layout doesn't fit completely on the screen, is that supposed to be the case? Thanks

Hi guys, I’m experiencing very annoying Coil Whine from my PC Desktop whenever Figma animations are active. I do not hear this when watching YouTube videos, or when playing large Movie files (eg; 4K 60gb .MKV’s using VLC). Appreciate this question maybe a specific PC/GPU/Power Management issue, but hoping somebody in the Figma community has also experienced this, and may know a solution. It’s very distracting when trying to work, and this is on a relatively new and powerful PC system (Intel i9 14900KF, RTX 4080 Super, 64GB DDR5 Ram, Win 11). Thanks in advance 🙇

Figma’s help article indeed says that Gemini CLI cannot write to canvas with remote MCP server.  Was wondering when that support would be added?  As a heavy user of Gemini CLI, was hoping to not have to constantly switch to Claude Code when I experiment with designing!Much appreciated.

Hi, so i wanted to make a navbar animation, but i cannot make the navbar responsive AND animated AND fixed in place (so it moves down when im scrolling). I am going insane, heres the problem below. The problem is that because the navbar is not inside hero section i cannot make this animation and i dont know how else i can do it while containing both animation, responsivness and it being fixed in place - desperate design student.

I’m creating an interactive dropdown component. I’m using variants. When the dropdown opens to display the menu items either it pushes the elements below it (using auto layout), or the menu opens behind the other elements. I have Youtube videos, I have followed other questions in the community and elsewhere and nothing seems to fix the issue. I have tried changing the canvas stacking to ‘First on Top’, I have tried clip content, I have tried ‘Bring to front’. I tried using overlays but then i’m not able to display the selected option. How do I fix this? I would really appreciate any help!

Then in March 2026 my invoice climbed to €57.86, and this month — April 2026 — I was hit with a €627.28 charge.Here's the full breakdown:1 Full seat: €20.00 15,000/mo AI credits: €351.00 Billing adjustments (AI credit updates): €143.16 Taxes: €113.12 Total: €627.28I want to focus specifically on that €143.16 "billing adjustment", because I find it the most opaque part of this invoice. Figma describes it as "charges for updates made since your last invoice, prorated from the date of change"— but I have no idea what change triggered it, when it happened, or how the amount was calculated. Hi,I am asking because it’s really hard to find anything on this - everything on stacking is top / last idea.So is there a way to have initial stacking changed on RWD window resize?And I don’t mean the prototype, but the design phase.I guess even with variables - you can’t differentiate variables on manual window resize of a frame/component? I mean I have a list of features + image and I do it odd/even:text + imageimage + texttext + imageimage + text so when I resize the window, it’s not stacked:textimageimagetexttextimageimagetext(because folding works like that)but instead, just like you can do it in e.g. Bootstrap with one classfor mobile stacking elements exchange positions, so that it’s:textimagetextimagetextimagetextimage? Sorry if there’s something about it but I know Figma has problems on window change features (without setting e.g. “mobile” manually) and most topics are about the obvious stacking ideas.Cheers,

Hello Figma community,I need urgent help regarding a serious issue with my files.Today (24 April 2026, around 11:00 AM PKT), I was transferring all my projects from my Education account to my personal account.Education account: (redacted by the moderator due to PII)Personal account: (redacted by the moderator due to PII)I invited my personal account, transferred ownership of all files, and confirmed that everything was visible in my personal account.After that, I removed the Education account’s access and later deleted the files from the Education account (including permanently clearing the trash).However, after this, all files disappeared from both accounts.Before deletion, I also saw a warning that the files were still linked to an Education plan/workspace.These files include:Internship workPersonal UI/UX projectsPortfolio workThis is very critical for me.Since this happened very recently, I want to ask: Is there any way to recover these files from backend backups or via support esca

I get that I can use “after delay” but if the user sits at the top of the page longer than the delay, when they finally scroll to the object, the animation has already finished. Is there a better way?

I’ve been playing around with Codex & today I installed the Figma plugin in order to try out some of the new features & skills such as creating a file, creating a design system, etc. Everything went well, I was able to log into my company Figma account and verify that all the skills were present. However, when I attempted to use some of these skills, I was told that I only had read only access.After this, I attempted to troubleshoot by quitting out of both Figma and Codex, uninstalling & reinstalling the plugin, turning on dev mode & enabling the local MCP server inside of Figma (I was using the remote server before), but nothing seems to work. Based on what I see in the instructions, it should theoretically work out of the box, so to speak.Has anybody encountered this problem before, and if so, how did you fix it? Perhaps I’m doing something wrong, or if there’s a flag that needs to be enabled on the administrative side that will let me use these skills? If there isn’t

I’m trying to publish some changes to my site and I keep getting an error message saying “Update attempt not successful” - has anyone else encountered this?

I have a component for form options that on some occasions needs a tooltip. The problem is that if you set the text layer to Hug, the text will not wrap for narrow content areas. And if set to Fill, it pushes the icon component. I really just want it to function like html <p> My text label <span>[icon]<span></p>Because of this issue, designers need to detach the core component just to add a tooltip (and the they use the incorrect icon size and style). Or they are just slapping the icon and moving it over the component just so it ‘looks’ like its at the end of the paragraph. This is frustrating me to no end. Figma is supposed to be a tool to create web interfaces, yet the most basic of web features, inline-block text isn’t possible to accomplish. Is there a hack?
