Yes, Figma has an Education (Student) plan, but the AI tools availability is limited compared to paid plans. Here is a clear explanation for students Figma Education (Student) Plan Price: Free for verified students and educators Gives access to many Professional plan features like design files, collaboration, and Dev Mode. What students can useStudents can use tools like: UI/UX design in Figma FigJam for brainstorming and collaboration Dev Mode for developer handoff Plugins and templates Team collaboration in design projects These tools help students learn UI/UX design, product design, and digital design
We are transferring design token names to variables in Figma. Token names are by necessity quite long (they cannot be shortened without losing meaning). Examples: dimension-action-padding-vertical-with-label-l dimension-action-padding-horizontal-with-label-l dimension-action-padding-gap-with-label-l When I click into an input field eg. auto-layout/vertical spacing I cannot differentiate the variable names in the list because the window is not rescalable. See image. I need to be able to see the full names. Preferably immediately without needing to hover over each item in the list. Thanks keep up the exciting work on variables guys and girls!
Hi everyone 👋One thing that has always bothered me about Figma’s native PDF export is that it converts all text into outlines. TrueText PDF fixes that.Select one or more frames, hit export, and get a PDF where every word is selectable, searchable, and copy-paste ready — just like a Word doc.https://www.figma.com/community/plugin/1608786203490497687/truetext-pdfFeatures:• Selectable & searchable text in exported PDFs• Pixel-perfect positioning — text overlays match your design exactly• Bold and mixed-style text fully supported• Multi-page export — select multiple frames and export as a single PDF• Drag to reorder pages before exporting• Sort pages by name
Right now, we're limited to the parallax effect, which is a bit outdated; I'd like something newer. Currently, other websites use Scroll Trigger in addition to GSAP code, but I'd still like to see it in Figma.
It would be extremely useful to have a native Sync Side-by-Side Tabs for Live Comparison in Figma that allows two files to be viewed next to each other within a single window.
Hi Figma Team,I’m writing to request an improvement to how annotations are handled on the canvas. Currently, when adding multiple annotations to an area, they automatically stack and bundle together.Because we cannot move or manually reposition these annotations once added, this bundling creates a massive cluster that completely obscures the artboard. It makes it incredibly difficult to actually see the design elements we are discussing.Could the team find a solution that allows users to move the placement of annotations? Being able to fan them out or drag them away from crucial design details would drastically improve legibility and our team's review process.Thank you!
The library we are using in our company can be modified by several people in the team. When I want to publish changes to the library, sometimes I would see changes I didn’t make. Or sometimes it was a change I actually made that had an impact on another component, but it’s difficult to understand right away given that you can’t have a close look at what has changed exactly (the preview is so tiny!) It would be great to have some kind of before/after preview each time I hover one of the components in the “changes” list. It would reduce the risk of publishing wrong components that are not well built. Because right now I always have to ask my team if they have touched anything in the library which is getting tiresome to be honest. Thanks ✨
I'd love to have the option to remove a library, especially if it's an older or deprecated one. It would help keep our files up to date and avoid accidentally using outdated components. Thank you! 🙏🏼 I want to remove this library. :(
Hello!About desktop app.Could it possible add a copy of the project tab (like 2 copies of the same tab in Chrome)? Really often necessary to see all Pages from one project (Tab).
Flow chart process mapping is good. Adding line jumps would make it great!
Dear Figma employees, Thank you for your incredible hard work on a software that has confidently made me leave InDesign and in many ways Illustrator in the dust. (even though Adobe is your owner now...) Any hopes for a Lock Guides feature in 2026?
For instances where a user is creating a flow chart and the text formatting bar isn’t needed, can there be a way to either hide it entirely (similar to hiding UI) or being able to pin it to a location (like its attached to the Tool bar)? Having it open all the time when you’re clicked on an object can be frustrating when trying to see if you have a connecting line or to read an object right above it.
I was super pumped to start using grids for my layouts until I learned of one fatal flaw that killed my excitement :( The inability to set a row height to hug is simply a deal-breaker for me. Also no variables support for gaps? really?
I see we can double click the edge of a section to match contents, which is truly so lovely. I would like that to be taken a step further: a one-click option that causes a section to resize itself according to contents without further intervention, functionally in the same vein as the Figma auto-layout feature. When in Figjam, I want to focus on thinking and planning. Repeatedly zhuzhing layout is such a relentless distraction. It would be nice to be able to check a box on a section that says “Manage yourself, please!” So I can keep scooting. That’s all! Thank you for your time, and such a nice app!
We need a way in the REST API to get a list of Team IDs. A previous post (Suggestion: API endpoint for :team_id) was moved to ‘share an idea’ and then marked as solved, so I’m reposting sans solution, in hopes that we can get some votes. With the new library analytics API, this feels more relevant than ever. I want my users to pick the team their library is in from a list, and then pick the library file from a list of files. Trying to get end users to figure out how to get the library file ID is needlessly complicated to start taking advantage of the new API, when I could set up a system to let them pick it from a list. Almost all of the endpoints require a Team ID… (or require a file ID, the list of which requires a project ID, which requires a Team ID… etc.) So adding a Team API would unlock improved usability for almost every other REST API endpoint. Let’s make it happen.
I’m using Figma Make to leverage my company’s internal design system. I’ve made some progress, but I’m still running into issues with it properly consuming our system. Right now, Figma Make creates its own set of design tokens or references tailwind tokens to create lookalikes of our designs. I have spent a lot of time adding code context to our variables in our design system library, but these seem to be ignored by the figma Make llm when it generates the designs.I have our system’s components loaded into the private NPM registry. I have the styles and token packages in there as well. There is no reason it shouldn’t try using them first, and I’ve even told Make how to consume them (in several different ways). It seems to prefer tailwind/radix regardless, which is no longer acceptable, and is causing additional churn cycles for our teams.Instead of trying to force tailwind/radix to look like our design system (and repeating this process for every new Make we make), I’d like Make to alw
We’re attempting to use Figma make with our internal design system and I’m running into several issues regarding context provided to Figma’s coding AI models:Our design system has around 80 components that all need guidline files in the guidelines directory according to the Make documentation. I’ve created these files with AI connected to our internal MCP server. 80 or so files. To get these files into Make, I had to create them manually one-by-one and copy/paste the contents in for each make. Theoretically I could do this with a template Make file that everyone starts with, but this is cumbersome regardless. Here is what I’m requesting:Ability to push guidelines to a figma make project without needing to copy the project. I have like 80 files representing different components that needed context. (generated from our MCP/Cursor) Ability to push our codex packages from our engineering MCPs so they can be consumed as context within figma make. Ability to connect Figma Make to a locally-r
I often duplicate existing mocks to work on feature updates. Deleting previous annotations one by one is extremely tedious. It would be helpful if the tool could recognize when a frame has been duplicated and then allow bulk clearing of annotations.
Hey folks, first of all I love the new variable function. Within the setup of spacings I want to reference my base value (“8”) and do calculations, e.g. (spacing-base)*2". This works fine and the value is calculated properly within the input to add a new variable. But I expected not that the calculation string changes to the absolute value. With this behaviour I loose the connection/ reference to my base value and the calculation is some how obsolete. Does anybody feel the same? Will there be an update? Thanks
It would be great if, when I insert a component from a Figma library in Figma Make, I could use Figma Code Connect to retrieve the actual design system code linked to that component.
I often need to paste screenshots into Figma from mobile devices of various sizes. We work at the pt/dp scale, so it would be awesome if there was a setting someplace where you could have Figma try to determine the proper pt/dp size of the device/display from which the screenshot came and then automatically resize it to match that.Example: I drop in a screenshot from an iPhone 16 Pro onto the canvas. As of posting this, Figma sizes the screenshot to 603x1311, but based on the original dimensions of the image, it should be able to determine (or do a best guess) of which device it’s from, and then resize it to the proper pt values of 402x874. Half of this info is already stored in Figma’s roster of frame sizes (i.e. when creating a new frame, you get a ton of device choices with the proper pt sizes), so I have to imagine this is possible to pull off. Obviously not with 100% accuracy...but currently my workflow requires me to resize these screenshots 100% of the time! If someone knows of
I’m wondering - why do we need the instance swap property? Usually our components have variants therefore the nested component property is a better option. In my opinion, the nested properties should appear automatically once I place a nested instance of one component inside another.
Can a remark function be added to personnel management to write remarks for each member's name?
1. Describe the problem your experiencing and how your idea helps solve this If I add an image to figma and then resize that image I would like to export it at the original resolution. Maybe if there was even a button to resize the image to the full size. 2. Add as much context as possible (screenshots, Figma files, mockups, etc.) **3. Ask questions to bring the community into the conversation ** (e.g. Does anyone else experience this? Is anyone using a plugin or workaround to help solve this?, etc.
Vertical text is pretty common for east Asian text like Japanese and Chinese. Can you make this a feature?
