Similarly to how in a Git repo we can block any changes to be committed in the main branch, it would be nice to allow the same behavior in Figma. New changes should only come from the merging requests of branches.

I think this is a must right now with big teams managing design system files. Without a strict internal process, edits can be very invasive with little to no way of controlling it. I get that teams should figure out a way to manage that, but having this requested option would significantly make things easier.
