Is it just me or the “Paste to replace” feature has been removed ??

Hello there! I have a simple issue but I cannot find the answer out there, and the thing is I want to make a square shape with two diagonals crossing trough the center and reaching the corners, but these lines always go beyond the square corner. How can I edit this? Thanks!

Hi, I created a color library with the naming convention “palette/color”. It was all added fine until I realized I could neither edit the hex codes nor see the hex codes without detaching the instance. Right-click option is also disabled for some reasons. Basically it is acting strange. Has anyone else faced a similar problem? And if you could please help with resolution, that would be great.

Hello everyone! Some fonts problems here. Figma shows some weights that don’t exist in Google fonts. (Old topic about Roboto and yes, I’m using Roboto) Even if I install it manually, I see weights like semibold, that is not really available. I also have some files where I can use the Roboto as a variable font (and it’s not). On Figma the weights are much darker than the original one. I read this thread that says it’s ok. Sorry to post it again, I read some threads about these topics from last years, with no clear solutions though so I hope there are fresh eyes and ideas now 🙂 So questions are: Do you have the same problems with Roboto or other fonts? Is there a way to use my installed font instead of the one found in Figma? And how can I see if I’m working with the right one? There was (a bug opened here), how can I see if it’s fixed? How, as designers, deal with that big difference of rendering between Figma and the web? Thank you 🌷

Trying to migrate a very graphic slide deck from illustrator to Figma. I have no problem copy-pasting vectors, but bitmaps are just pasted as an empty frame 😦 I’m afraid I’ll have to export all assets as png first and then import them into figma, but that takes up considerably more time than just copy-pasting 🫠 Is this normal behavior or anyone else having this problem? Is there an easier workaround??

Figma stopped showing project cover previews. Now it’s just a lot of black rectangles.

The case scenario I got is having a block of text that is my title and underneath I got a series of images. If I just use Wrap on the main frame the images won’t stay on the same line. Therefore I created a sub-auto layout with just the images but then they don’t stack anymore when I resize. See pics Thanks to whoever understand why it doesn’t work

Hi everyone, I’m working on a plugin, and when I select an art board, I want to make its image, display it in my plugin UI, and send that image data to the API. I have data in the form of a Uint8Array. It needs to be converted to an image, which I found is possible if it’s in base64. I am trying to export and save an SVG file. Hi everyone! could someone help me with this, when using the siter.io plugin in Figma i get the browser error code: out of memory and i have used several browsers now. I have made sure to use incognito mode, closed all tabs and even restarted my laptop, and i have disk space on my laptop too, can anyone help me find a solution to circumvent this…i feel like i’ve tried everything

I’m creating a dropdown and linked it with the overlay box. So far so good. But this option box has a drop shadow. When running the prototype, when clicking on Select, when the options box appears, it loses the drop shadow. I already checked “clip content” in the box and nothing. Any idea how to make a drop shadow overlay appear?

Hello, So, I had an issue where I owned over 10 emails. I changed my email on Figma - so I thought - however, after deleting my emails, I’ve gone to log back into Figma and the email is still attached. I own an agency also, and all my team are still on this account, which I don’t want to delete as we have a lot of client work there. How on earth can I get back?

I want to be clear on my plugin community page that my plugin does not use external network resources. However, when I put “none” in the allowedDomains array in my manifest, I get the following error: Refused to create a worker from 'data:application/javascript,...' because it violates the following Content Security Policy directive: "script-src 'unsafe-inline' 'unsafe-eval' figma.com". Note that 'worker-src' was not explicitly set, so 'script-src' is used as a fallback. So, hmm, I guess technically worker scripts are considered external network resources? Though I am loading the worker script block from another script block in my ui.html source. So it’s all local. I don’t know why the plugin runtime considers this an external resource. And there doesn’t appear to be a way to specify such resources. Sadly, for now, it seems I need to leave my network access as unspecified. Has anyone else experienced this? Or found a workaround? Hi all! I have just learned how to create dynamic elements, in this case, a check box! Im super hyped 🙂 I want to see if its possible to change one variable (X) when another variable (Y) is togged. Like in my example below: I have a drop down menu with checkboxes. When I have checked 1 or more boxes, I want the component showing nr 3 (the value of checked components) to become True and also change the value based on the amount of checked boxes. Im an old Flash guy and this was something that was widely used back then. So my question is - is it possible to do what I wrote above? If yes - I will squee IRL! 💕

With recent update, we can access superscript property of text layers via getRangeOpenTypeFeatures. However, in most situations I encountered, superscript content is only very small portion of a paragraph. getRangeOpenTypeFeatures will give figma.mixed for text block which contains text with and without superscript at the same time. To accurately get which portion of text is superscript, we need to iterate characters one by one and check for SUPS: true. However, there is getStyledTextSegments which enables batch query of styled text (e.g. font name, font size) and returns an array of properties. It would be great we can access some API which is similar to this?

Hey Figma community 👋 Question: I have multiple layers in 1 frame, most of which are vector shapes. I have one specific area I want to mask so it can be reused numerous times across our team, if I make the whole frame a component though I seem to be unable to paste images into the mask. Does anyone know why? I have found a solution but I’m not sure it’s all that elegant 😬 The solution: (1) Layers to frame (2) Frame to component (3) Select component from the assets panel, detach it, then paste it inside the mask. This works but I feel it is breaking a lot of Figma conventions. Keen to know if anyone has a better way. 🙏 😊

we have used variables to style an object in figma (e.g. colors as fill, or numbers as auto layout and radius properties). when copying properties using ctrl+alt+c, its expected to style new object with variables, not static values. but figma uses detached variable values to style new object. This behaves right when using styles, but variables cannot be copied correctly. so its annoying to set each value manually.

The review & update library action seems to be in a loop. I have a seperate library file and made some changes. I published the changes and when I open my project-file see “component update available : review / dismiss”. I click on “review” and “update”. The popup-screen closes, but after a second the same “component update available” dialog is shown again. This keep on going … so it seems to be in a loop. How can I fix this problem ?

Feel like this should be simple but I cannot figure it out. I have a card component with an image inside, I just want to duplicate the card multiple times and change/replace the image of the instance. (The images are already inside my document) File for reference:Figma – 28 Aug 23

After replacing my ssd with a new m2 drive I had to reinstall my Windows OS, when I installed Figma for desktop I found out that all my plugins are gone, I tried the browser app, the same there. I rebooted my pc and booted the old Windows OS from the old hard drive and suddenly my plugins are there, both in desktop and browser version, why is that? I thought Figma plugins are attached to my account not my windows, is there a valid way to import them from the old windows install to the new one ?
