Hi, inside Visual Studio code with the Figma plugin running and a file open: How can I refresh the file to load any changes that has happened in my Figma file? It seems to me the only way is to close file and reopen it. Also, how can I give feedback on the Figma plugin in VS Code? thanks,

Hello, community! I have created a component containing different states for a menu item. I want to have a small rectangle on the left side of the item that stays visible when the page is active but most importantly to smart animate on hover over the other items in the menu. The animation is simple: the rectangle has a width of 0px when is not hovered and 10px width on hover. The problem is that whenever I hover over the item, the width of the rectangle is instantly 10px width and when I stop hovering, it is animating the width of the rectangle. If you’ve enabled the developer mode seat, granting view access to the respective email ID should allow users to access the code format in Figma. I’m encountering an issue with a plugin I’m developing where every time I try to save a generated file, it prompts me with the “Save As” dialogue box. I’m wondering if anyone has encountered this problem before and found a solution to bypass this dialogue box? Since I’m still getting the hang of Figma, I’m not sure if this is a common issue or if there’s a specific workaround for it. I’ve tried searching online for solutions, but haven’t had much luck finding a clear answer. If anyone has any suggestions or tips to bypass the “Save As” dialogue box while running the plugin, I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks so much for your help!

Hello! Is it possible for other people other than you / the owner of a FigJam Template file to publish the changes with the template to be available for the rest of the Org? Upon reading this Help Center article I am under the impression that it’s possible, but I tested it initially with a colleague and they couldn’t seem to see the same button to “Publish changes” or something which was something I could see on my end. I made sure to invite them to the file as well and give them can edit privileges. Even after refreshing the file, they couldn’t seem to publish, only I could (since I owned the file).

Hello! I have a problem (maybe a silly problem ;-)) regarding a variant of a component. The situation is as follows: I want to open an overlay with a press on a button. The Button is a component with three variants “Default”, “Hover” and OnClick. This variants represents the states of the button. I have designed the interaction in the way that while hovering on variant “Default” the component should change to variant “Hover” and while pressing the variant “Hover” it should change to “OnClick”. In most scenarios this works (e.g. navigating to another frame). But when I want to open an overlay, after opening the overlay the component does not change back to “Default” and remains in the state “OnClick”. What have I overseen? Is there an issue in the component / a missing interaction? A Figma document that I have been working on and was already finished a week ago with no performance problems, but when I viewed it today it had too much lag in the smart animate of a navigation bar. What do you think is the problem that causes this? It also happens in both the desktop and browser versions.

Hi 👋, i am currently prototyping a website and I want to integrate the function that the page scrolls to a specific part when I click a button. Problem is that I also want to have a hoverstate on that button. I do know how to create the functions separately (Hover and scroll to) but how can I prototype it that it works together? Is there maybe a way to do it with components and variants? I would really appreciate it if you would help me with some advice:) Thanks a lot!

Perhaps a newbie question, but I have done a lot of searching and can’t find an answer. I recently purchased UntitledUI as a design system and I am ready to use it on a new project. When I update a component by adding a variant say, or changing a colour, I would like it to update everywhere it is used in one particular project, but I don’t want to update other projects that also use that same component. I can… Create instances from my design system then detach them in my design file. This seems to defeat the purpose of having it linked to a master if I want to make a change. Update the master component in UntitledUI, but then wont my customization affect every usage of that component in multiple projects? I don’t want that. My gut tells me what I want is a ‘copy’ of the design system that is local to each project. If that is actually what you are supposed to do, how is that done? Is there a ‘make a copy’ for libraries? I have been working on a mobile UI design project for a class for a few weeks now, and I created an interactive component that simulates a swipe gesture animation. It includes 7 variants, starting on “after delay”, then plays through all of the subsequent variants after delay as well to make it seem fluid then it fades out. I created this about 2 weeks ago and when I first created this, it was working fine without issues in a test frame as well as on the main frames of my project. However, a couple days after that when I went to resume the project, I cannot get the animation to play anymore on delay. I will paste the first variant of the interactive component, and when viewing it in a test frame it just shows the first frame as a stagnant picture and it does not shuffle through the variants like it’s suppose to, and like it was previously. Hi Figma community, I’ve just encountered this problem where the instances of rotated component appear without rotation when I drag them from the sidebar/search. For example, I have these sticky notes that I leave around the files. They are both rotated for 4°. I used to import the instances through “Shift + I” menu and they would always appear the same as their original components. Now, however, they appear almost the same, sans the 4° rotation and I can’t figure out why. Check out the video for reference. This used to work fine until… today? Anyone else having similar issues? I added 1 component to my library and when I open the review panel I see 2 items: one with the diamond - the component - and another with a file icon - same name. What is the second one?

I looked on the forum for this existing topic and it said the top most object has to be a frame to see the constraints panel for it. However, I have this autolayout as a frame for the top level and I don’t get the constraints menu on the right hand side. Any ideas?

Im working on an advanced prototype of a filter and im trying to change the state of an object with the click of a different object. Each object in the component “Checkbox Item” has the following naming: Hint=false, Selected=false, State=default, Indeterminate=false (unchecked) Hint=false, Selected=true, State=default, Indeterminate=false (checked) Hint=false, Selected=false, State=default, Indeterminate=true (semi-checked) Each of these object has 3 nested components/objects inside of it: Check box Text (this is not a variabel) Amount → this has a nested object inside it called #Count The idea is that when i press a checkbox, the #Amount boolean is set to True/False (based on state) and the #Count variable goes up + or - 1. Hello, I just came across this weird thing. I have a file where i use three sections to organize the components that are due to be reviewed, the approved ones and the discarded ones. Those sections would grow and shrink pretty much like an autolayout frame, so when i drop an item into them a blue line helper would tell me that i will place the new object in between the existing objects. Then upon dropping the section will acomodate the new content. Today i created a new file and created the same sections again. but then there is no longer an option to set them to “hug” content. I use Linux so there is not an official desktop app for my platform and I don’t want to use the unofficial version at this time. I was wondering if there is a way to use fonts or font libraries that are not supplied by default in the online free version of Figma? Thanks

I have a component in my design system that doesn’t go away. I have updated this component, renamed it, unsynced the library, resynced the library, restarted Figma etc. and to no avail. This component doesn’t exist but it continues to replace the new one I’ve created. Please help. Anyone.

This is an issue in prototyping: Even if the ‘Reset Scroll Position’ box is unchecked (i.e., not selected), the prototype will still reset the scroll position unless all the frames involved have a ‘/’ (Forward Slash) in their Title. The position of this ‘/’ can be anywhere in the Frame Title, but without it it the prototype does not adhere to the scroll position retention. IMO, this is a Bug rather than an intended use case and should be fixed.

Hey guys, I’m trying to prototype a full working confirmation screen for a banking app using a PIN code. I found a pretty nice video but there’s an issue - I can’t have the #code2, #code3 and #code4 spaces work, the rest is doing great, but when I type the first number, it keeps switching the number, it doesn’t move to the next code space so I can type the full 4-digit code. The guy says - the one in the video - that adding a ‘change to’ interaction will stop the loop and permit to move to the next space but it doesn’t. I’d appreciate so much if someone can help!
