Weird bug - I just entered to a new company and I can’t edit a lot of projects even having a Admin’s permission

Admin rights don’t give you superpowers: other editors still can make projects and files in the team invite-only or view-only. This topic was discussed in detail here: Team owner can't edit project, feel free to join the discussion.

How can I know who in the team can give me access to a specific project?

I’m woorking in company that is moving from amsterdam to sao paulo, so it is very likely that the person who created the project had already left the company

In this case I would recommend you to reach out to Figma support team via support@figma.com or the support request form regarding this issue.

FIGMA please please when are you going to fix this. As an admin I can’t give people access to files they need. The owner is on holiday, ill, … FIX THIS!!!

Was this ever fixed? I feel Figma at the very least needs to respond HERE in the thread.

Hey Jake! Welcome to the community.

I checked on our backend, @Vitor_Levy_Alves has filled out a ticket to the support team and his case has been resolved.

For visibility here, here is the response that may also help you:

’ As a team admin you would be an editor by default on all files in the team, except for those that are in View Only or Private Projects. In these project types, all users’ team-level permissions are ignored and you would need an explicit invitation to edit.

Here’s more information about these projects from our Help Center: Private and view only projects

If this doesn’t help, feel also free to reach out directly to the support team so they can have a deeper look at your permission’s right by filling this form: here

Be sure to use the email associated with your Figma account, a link to the file affected, and share the file with support-share@figma.com (with edit access), so they can take a closer look.
