I’ve built a hero component with an autoplaying background video. It has a button in the bottom corner that needs to be able to play/pause the video on click. My problem is that when i try to select the video, it’s greyed out and not selectable. Anyone know why this is and if there’s a way around it? I have the Starter Plan but no Figmal AI button. According to the Figma website all paid plans come with Figma AI. I tried contacting support but they told me to ask here for some odd reason. So hopefully a kind soul can inform me if Figma AI is only available in higher tiers (if so, I wish Figma had said so in the first place).Thanks in advance!

Reproduction:1) Parent frame with horizontal auto layout holding chips which have rounded edges Clip Content: OFF ✅ Looks fine on Canvas and Preview on all screens (@1x and @2x) 2) Parent frame —“— —“— Clip Content: ON a) ✅ Canvas looks fine b) ✅ Preview looks identical on @2x high-res display (internal screen, MacBook Air 15’’ 2024) c) ❌ Preview has rendering glitch on @1x normal-res display (external 24’’ display) The top few pixels of the container are “shaved off”. As a consequence the top of chips are also shaved off, and they appear irregular, not regularly rounded anymore. Suspicion: Some sub-pixel rendering or anti-aliasing function has rounding errors when clipping. Screenshots (from my @1x display): P.S.: I take “Search before you post” very seriously, and found no existing bug report yet. But can say so only with limited certainty as your forum search is currently very limited and needs better search to foster more productive feedback/involvement.

Hi there,I tried to change permission settings so that a prototype could be shared out to a client, but I kept seeing the red banner “An error occured...”. After further investigation, I believe it’s because this file has branches, because I didn’t encounter this problem on other files without branches.Can you have someone look into this please? Using branches to have different versions of prototypes is crucial to our workflow. Prototypes for clients, vs internal often have different things that are interactive, so that the narrative can be controlled.In the end, I was still able to conduct the user testing session, but had to ask my participant to create a Figma account, which isn’t ideal.Thanks.  

Hi,I’m testing out the beta auto layout grid and I’ve come across something peculiar and I was wondering if anyone else came across this issue? Is it possible to put text over a background shape? Auto layout does not like this for some reason, it shifts the shape up or down in the grid.I also tried to apply horizontal auto layout and that does seem to work in terms of sitting above the shape however when I adjust the webpage frame that part isn’t responsive. See attached a few example images. Please let me know if anyone has had the same issue and how they were able to resolve this?Thanks  

I'm trying to create a student account. I started studying for a Bachelor's degree in Creative Industries at the National University of Rafaela in Argentina. But when I select a higher degree, only a few universities appear as options, and I don't know how to continue with the process.

I’m creating a presentation slide deck that has several Figma prototypes embedded in it. The prototypes are in different devices frames (laptop, tablet and iphone) with the device frame being set in the Figma file. Placing these into Figma slides, it will only retain the device frame from the most recent prototype. So if I place a prototype with a laptop device frame, and then later place one with an iphone device frame, it changes the previous desktop frame to also be an iphone frame. 

When we upgrade from Professional subscription to Organisation subscription, Where i can find plan change details/settings details? in my account it still shows professional subscription and it is not upgraded to organisation, payment was done by my company

I’ve been a Figma supporter for years, but their new billing system is broken and unfair. I made a simple adjustment ONE DAY after my renewal date to adjust our team’s plan based in the new pricing model, and now we’re being charged for both the old and new seat, with no way to fix it. Here’s what happened:✔️ My renewal hit on March 16 with 5 full seats.✔️ On March 17, I downgraded 3 of those to developer seats since develpers don’t need full editing access.✔️ Figma says my billing locked at renewal, so now I have to pay for both the full and developer seats.✔️ Even if I switch back, I’m still charged the full amount. There’s no way to adjust it without extra fees. Figma support stopped responding after 20+ hours. So… anyone here working at Figma who can escalate this?

Within figma, is there any chance we would see support of the flex property “direction:ltr or rtl” for layouts with wrap enabled. Just wondering if anyone has any info on this before building this functionality myself for a plugin I’m working on.For folks who want to know the difference. I attached the image main below from an HTML / CSS context. This is primarily used for languages and layouts which are read right to left (RTL) such as arabic, urdu, farsi etc..  

Hi everyone, I'm having an issue with a deleted file that's in the trash. Although it's not permanently deleted, I can't restore it or move it back to drafts or even deleted it permanently.When I right-click on the file, no window appears. I also tried logging in from another PC or accounts, but nothing changes. I was the admin of the file.

Hello :)I'm working on a software prototype to kinda simulate a Google Chrome (or any Webbrowser) tabbing system with some add. extras. The crucial bit is:- Opening tabs.- Closing tabs.- When opening a tab, it should add it to the top (eg. like google chrome does with new tabs).- When closing a tab, the other open tabs should move all to the left (so there is no empty tab space)(eg. also like google chrome).- Each tab is a different page with subpages and menus.- Within a tab, you can open/close further tabs within. (So it's kinda like a second level tab navigation).This might be a figma overkill (especially the secondary tab level, open/close history), but worth a shot if anyone ever has tried something similar. I guess nested components of each tab is a good start?I've successfully simulated it with loveable, but need a figma prototype now. Thanks a lot in advance :)

Hey, I’m building on a Figma plugin. I’m trying to change the Figma file name if the user types the name & submitted from the plugin. I’m currently using this function. figma.root.name. but it’s still not changing the file name. It still keeps as untitled. Please help me if we even have that capability. 

I understand it’s Pride Month, but this feels a bit too on-the-nose. I can’t find a setting to turn it off.

新版的UI，auto layout后还是变成了Frame why??

When I drag the mouse to select multiple items., or even just click once and try to drag/move an item, Figma is just selecting all the comments and moving them instead of what I’m trying to move. I have to double click an object and then move it, and I can’t select anything by dragging the mouse.I have restarted and updated Figma multiple times. I’ve used this in terminal as well: rm -rf "$HOME/Library/Application Support/Figma" It’s still doing the same thing. And only in this one file.

I have some video files I want to add to my website, but a lot of interaction features have been simplified and none of the videos play. Wondering if it could be a bug of some sort? Already troubleshooted as much as I could, clearing cache and tried placing every video in its separate frame. Possibly would like the videos to play on hover although I don’t think it’s a feature yet. 

Hey there! I'm trying to share a slide template to Community, but I get this error every time I try: "Can't publish empty template. After the recent UI3 update, the Auto Layout controls (direction, spacing, padding, etc.) don’t appear in the right sidebar in the Desktop version of Figma — even though Auto Layout is applied.Everything works fine in the browser version. Is anyone else experiencing this issue?

Hi Figma team, Earlier today, my team accidentally purchased the DEV subscription with annual billing, but what we actually need is Full Access, not just an additional DEV seat. Is there any way to change the subscription to Full Access instead? We’re happy to cover any additional cost related to the price difference between roles. I’d really appreciate your help with this

I built an app nav with multiple sub components and am running into an issue when I’m interacting with the sub-component variants. The app nav menu items can either be a singular nav item or a nested nav item with additional sub-nav items contained in it.When I modify the variant to have a nav item be nested and in a selected state (showing the sub-nav items), the container hugs the content and pushes the other main nav items down. If I were to switch the sub nav state back to default or toggle off the nested nav item and try turning the selected state for the sub nav item, the container no longer hugs the content and the sub nav items overlap with the main nav items below. I’m trying to figure out if it’s the way I built this component or a bug. All the of the content in my sub-components are build with Hug content heights. I’ve included a video of the interactions I’m explaining and a screenshots of the subcomponents I’m using.

Hello. I have this problem, text styles are constantly flying off in [redacted by moderators] and line spacing is decreasing, while the root components themselves remain intact and if you go into the version history of the file, everything is fine there too. What should I do

For example, I want “->” in a text field but Figma changes it to “→” How can I prevent that?I’ve tried disabling spell check but it didn't work.
