Is there any way to get around this memory limit issue?

I was trying to clean up a file and move some older stuff to an “archive” file. I accidentally used cmd + x and cut the frames I wanted to move. Now when I try to paste them, Figma hangs for a minute, then the frames all show up as if the paste worked, Figma is unresponsive for a moment — then I get an “Open this file in recovery mode” modal, and when I do so all the pasted content disappears. I’ve tried using a new file, restarting Figma, and wiggling my nose in every direction during the paste… Any idea how I can get these frames out of my clipboard and back into Figma? Is there some way I can paste the data into another app and attempt to break it up into multiple pastes? It’s not even THAT much stuff, but I guess it’s just a teeny bit over the line for what Figma can handle. Any advice would be greatly appreciated

Cursor Pointer Hand on Hover

When presenting interactive components with a hover state, the cursor sometimes shows the pointer hand on hover and other times does not. Curious if I’m experiencing a bug or missing a setting. Thanks!

Iterate styles with figma make and figma design

Is there a way to iterate something I created with figma make on figma design? I already arrived to a good result but I can not take the results I have to a user flow on a figma design page :(

Figma Make works slow after many iterations.

Very low performance speed in Figma Make when the thread reaches large sizes (currently 230+ iterations). All actions in the chat area occur with a significant delay (typing, scrolling, etc.), making it impossible to work. However, the prototype itself works well within FM. Has anyone encountered this? What could be the cause? Could it be related to the power of the laptop?

Forced light background in Dark mode in Figma

I am stuck with UI in dark mode and Figma background in light mode making the sections all dark but background ssuper light. It is jarring to say the least.

Figma serious slow performance

I’m struggling to configure projects in a way that lets Figma keep components synced between designs and the design system without destroying its performance. Is there any way to improve Figma’s performance while working with components? I watched their video, and they didn’t mention anything about addressing this issue. It feels like we’re being pushed into a setup that will be costly to change later on.

Cannot access unpublished variables and modes in a figma plugin even when using REST API

I have a foundation figma file with unpublished and published variables and collections. I am trying to apply such variables to another file with two ways: Importing the foundation file library to the file i am working on. With the command await figma.teamLibrary.getAvailableLibraryVariableCollectionsAsync(); i do get only the published collections so i do not have access to the unpublished ones. Using figma rest api endpoint GET /v1/files/:file_key/variables/local i get all the variables and collections but i cannot import the unpublished ones in my working file, so i cannot apply unpublished variables to the working file’s nodes. Is there any way to apply unpublished variables to a file through figma api? the weird part is that through figma ui the user can apply unpublished variables. Something goes wrong when trying to do so via code.Thanks in advance!

Turn off notifications for specific project (Oct 2023)

I have searched for this answer in the forum, but haven’t been able to my situation represented yet - so here goes: I am a design manager who needs access to all projects in my company, but do not want the notifications for all projects. Currently I am unable to find, either within the Mac desktop app or the we app, where within a specific project there is an ability to turn off notifications (currently getting both a pile of emails, as well as Slack notifications in our generic Slack integration- not channel specific). Any help to turn off one project notifications would be greatly appreciated!

Measurement Indicator Will Not Go Away

I can’t seem to find a way to turn off the red measurement tool. If I go to View > Hide UI it does remove it, but it also removes other side navigation components that I need available.

I couldn't transfer projects from an Organization-level account to a Professional-level account.

Hi everyone, here’s my situation: I have two Figma accounts, one on the Organization plan and one on the Professional plan, using different emails. I want to transfer (or copy) projects from the Organization account to the Professional account, including the Design System, and keep component links intact. However, when I use “Transfer” option under Settings from the Organization account, the Professional account doesn't receive any in-app notification. When I click “Review Request” from the email, it says “The transfer request you received has been cancelled by the team or organization that sent it. It's no longer available.” Even though no one canceled it Any idea why this happens or the best way to transfer projects to different account that keep all the components intact?

Text showing fairly random glitches

Hello. We’re having issues with text glitches. Some random characters are showing small glitches. Random because it’s an unpredictable inconsistency depending on who knows what - size, settings etc? Sometimes making a small adjustment like character space or vertical trim resolves the glitch, sometimes not. There appears to be no consistency with the issue and no catch-all solution, so it makes for a very impractical situation when using the font at scale. The font in question is Adobe Clean - it is activated via Universal Type Client at our company. They’ve tried removing and reloading, in fact we’ve been through all the suggested solutions inc “Recompute Text Layout in Selection” and “Regenerate All Instances (Slow)”, and toggling all settings in Type Settings > Detail. Some things work in some situations but it’s too random to be practical. The issue also remains when exporting content with the problematic text. Two examples attached. Any help or advice welcome.

How to interact "Figma Make" prototypes on mobile?

How can I view Figma prototypes on my mobile, or is that currently only for web desktop? When I copy the share link and open in on my mobile, it opens up in a very small view and completely unusable on phone.

Transferring a project to a different organization

we have a client that wants us to transfer an entire project including all versions / libraries / comment threads over to their account. seems easy to do within an organisation - less so between organisations. exporting the file and re-opening it and saving it on their side is not an option at this point. any help greatly appreciated.

Navigation bar's scroll position - Stick and first on top NOT WORKING

Hello Brains Trust, I am stuck. I am trying to get a navigation bar's scroll position to stay at the top of a frame (a prototype website) as one scrolls down. I want the nav bar to be visible at all times, even when scrolled all the way to the bottom of the page - but it just won't. I have done every step recommended: Select the navigation bar instance in the Home frame. In the Prototype tab, select Sticky from the Position menu. Open the Auto layout settings, and make sure Canvas stacking is set to First on top. It is at the highest layer order within the frame It is fully inside the frame, with all appropriate properties enabled I have tried every configuration of ‘Overflow Behaviour’ and nothing works (none, horizontal, vertical, both directs etc.) Yes, it is in a frame, not a group. If I disable auto layout, the problem persists. I have applied the ‘First on top’ to the Main component. On one frame is kinda half works but flickers over and under layers. Useing variables for hover

Hi, I was trying to use variables to change the hover color of a button, but the problem is I can select the color of the base button using the tokens, the change to field only allows for hex colors; I can’t point to the hover token. It works for a single mode, light or dark, because I can just put the hover hex color, but that’s not great when using light and dark.

Can't get align middle to work

Hello! I’ve run into an issue: initially, the text and input elements were perfectly center-aligned with each other. But after I started editing the text field, it shifted upward, and ‘Align middle’ no longer works. What could be the problem? I’d really appreciate your help!

"Anyone with the link" is not showing even though public sharing is enabled

We are on the Organization plan. We have “Public link sharing” enabled. When we attempt to share publicly, there is no “Only those invited” or “Anyone” option. There is only “Anyone in the [organization]”. I contacted support but the AI bot just keeps telling me to enable “Public link sharing”. Any suggestions would be great.

Frame height isn’t reducing to zero when all items are hidden with a boolean property

I’ve created a component with elements that can be toggled on/off using boolean properties. They each work individually however when the subhead and body components are both toggled off the frame that they’re housed in doesn’t reduce it’s height and subsequently the white space from the frame remains at the top of the component. I’ve double checked and the frames within this component are set to hug contents for height. Open to workarounds but the one’s suggested in this feature thread (such as a 0px line being added) don’t remove the padding between the frame and the rest of the component.

Show/hide a layer using a checkbox (on/off) and variables

Hi folks, I’m trying to create a prototype which allows me to toggle a layer visibility on and off using a ‘Hide’ checkbox which sets a boolean variable (applied to Blue box layer appearance ). In the file, I can hide the blue box when checkbox toggled on, but I cannot show the blue box when toggled off. Here is prototype: Show hide layer Am I missing something really simple here? Moving Figma site to different hosting or platform on the later date

EDIT: in the title I meant to say “Hosting or platform” not “hosting domain”. Figma Sites sounds cool and handy, but I’m a bit of the fence regarding lock-in. What is official Figma stance on moving the website elsewhere for one reason or another. Who own the design? Who owns generated html and Javascript bits? (There is a little bit of React application going on, for what I gathered from browser DevTools.) Will Figma Corp be so generous to allow to download the project folder to take it to VS Code? I’ve noticed that DevMode tab is missing from Sites UI, does that mean devs are not welcome?
