Right now our team is designing for multiple screens basically a webapp , So I was wondering whether there is a simpler way to create design a design and reflect the same to bigger screen size. ( for eg - creating a web app design and reflecting the same to the website ) without any major work. Is it possible? Thank you in advance for your help.

I’m hoping to set up variables and expressions for my icon toggle button, so the outlined icon I swap with my placeholder will automatically go from outline to filled and vice versa when the icon button is selected or unselected. In my current setup, if I swap the default outline icon with something else, the outline icon is kept as a preserved override, even when I change state from unselected to selected. For example, if I swap my outline placeholder with an outline heart or an unchecked checkbox, how can I setup variables / variable prototype interactions so that when my toggle button goes from unselected to selected, the nested icon will go from outline to filled? Any help is much appreciated.

I have been uploading my jamboards to FigJam. After uploading them all I noticed I had random markings all over my slides. They look like leftover pen marks from when I wrote on my jamboards. However all of my jamboards are erased. Some of them allow me to take all the markings on the page and delete them. Some force me to select each individual mark of which there are tons and delete them individually. As a teacher I do NOT have time for this. And Jamboard expires soon. Does anyone know a fix so the uploads come out correctly? Thank you

Hi! I’m trying to create a dropdown button and it’s composed of the main button and a trailing button that behave seperatly from each other. When I come to change the size, it keeps overwhiting to the default color BUT when I go into the nested elements, the selected variants are the correct ones. I checked a lot of stuff in the community and tried having each componenet in an auto-layout frame and named all the layers similarly. Is this a bug? Here is a video showcasing the problem.

Hi. We have encountered a situation where we need to transfer copies of project files to a client. We need all changes in our source libraries to be updated in the client’s copy of files too. Does anyone know how to do this?

I’m going to design a UI app for iPhone, but I’ve found; On Figma, iPhone-14 dimensions are 390x844, but when I screenshot from my phone the dimensions are 1170 × 2532. What dimensions are correct? What dimensions do you start to work with as a professional mobile app designer?

Hi! I am having an issue with reseting the blinking component state. It only blinks once when I click in the first dropdown. The second time it’s not blinking and remembering the last state of the blinking component. Here is the link.

I have a question: I have several components in the vertical auto layout. The very top component has a drop shadow. The issue is that it’s not respecting the order, and the shadow spreads blow all the components instead of on top. I am trying to simulate z index(es) with shadows.

Hello! It’s been a while and I haven’t received the UI 3 update even though I joined the waitlist about 1-2 days after it was announced. Most people have got it despite when they joined the waitlist but I have not, is it because of my plan?

Is there a way to manually transfer ownership of a team/project after that member has left the company. We may be able to get access to their figma login, but ideally there should be a way to manually override within Figma?

My educational plan is expiring and I have since graduated. Prompt form Figma says to either upgrade to professional plan, verify educational status or since any teams will become disabled: retain view access to files by moving them to drafts. However it appears that there is no longer a drafts section outside of the separate teams- so if I have to move the files to drafts, I would have to move them to the drafts section of a team - but the teams are going to become disabled when the account is downgraded to started from educational plan! So where do I need to move the files in order to retain them for editing after my account is downgraded to starter pman from educational?

Hey all I have a Figma file that’s just functioning as Local Variables holder, which then is consumed by other files. I have 3 variable modes (Light, Dark, High Contrast) each has around 700 variables. So 700 x 3 in total. Initial publish was OK, but any changes I do now are almost impossible to publish. The system seems like it’s stuck, as I can always press the “Publish library” button. It always states there’s 700 changes, even tho I changed 1 colour variable. And when I publish it, it processes around 100 of these changes and then stops. Then I can push “Publish” again, but it just does the same thing again. Basically, it seems like it’s stuck publishing such a big colour library. There are no actual components in this file, just colour variables. What can I do? How do I bang it back into working?

What to do if there’s an issue with component overrides in Figma where updates to the master component do not automatically reflect in all instances. The master component was edited and saved, and while some instances updated correctly, others did not. Have you go through this situation? If so, what did you do? Any advice please…TIA

Hi! I have a problem on safari with the export of my illustrations in SVG. When one of my paths or objects has a drop shadow, it gets pixelated when displayed in the safari browser. The problem does not occur on Chrome and when my illustrations come from another software, I do not have this problem. Is it someone would have a small idea? Thanks 😉

Trying to use a local gradient color in a file for an illustration and when I try to load the local colors saved in the stroke style menu the entire sidebar turns white and is unresponsive until I reload the page. Using chrome due to personal preference. After reloading the page the same problem repeats. Browser up to date.

Why must developers have Full permissions to access Developer mode, which also grants them design editing rights? Is it possible to set these permissions separately, and when can we expect improvements to this feature?

Tell me how to see in the version history in which frames there were changes. For example, I have 150 screens in the file, several screens were changed yesterday. What screens were included?

A designer on my team did some select component refactor work. Instead of updating the master component they created a copy of the master component and made their updates on the copy. They deleted the original master component, and then the working branch was merged to the main library file. Now in library analytics it is showing thatselect has zero inserts anywhere across the org. Did deleting the master component, remove the analytics from the library? Even if the name is the same? I’ve tried to go back in version history to before the merge, but the library still shows select as having zero inserts. (version history should capture the component analytics as well no?) Can someone at Figma please explain if it is possible to retrieve the data?
