For whatever reason, I have a client where one of the designs on the team is unable to use the text styles in the design system I’ve created. When they choose a style to apply, it just does nothing. If there was a style applied already by another designer, it just remains at that one. If there was no style to begin with, it just doesn’t get applied. Typography variables for font family and weight also appear crossed out (see attached).

One other team member had this issue, and it was because they didn’t have the font installed, that was fixed by installing it. But this member does have the font installed, and yet they are still having issues. Any ideas?

I had the client send over their font file, and I installed it in place of mine. They no longer have the issue.


Their font had an additional weight that I didn’t have in mine. Seems like this has something to do with it, either a mismatch in weights available or just the fact that the font was a newer version.
