Is it possible in Figma to create a prototype where, when a user clicks on a text field, the label smoothly animates and moves up to the top border of the text field, mimicking the floating label effect commonly seen in form designs? Additionally, I want other text fields in the form to reset to their default state (with the label inside the text field) when they are not active. I’m particularly interested in achieving this functionality using interactions with onClick triggers and conditional logic, especially when managing multiple text fields within the same form. Any guidance or tips on setting this up would be greatly appreciated.

I’m trying to create a Figma prototype of a form with specific functionality. This is a multiselect form that exists out 6 of the same instances. This component this instance comes from has 4 states: Default Active Hover Disabled What I need to happen is that when a user selects ‘No preference’ all other selected options need to be turned off (aka set to ‘Default’). What also needs to happen is if ‘No preference’ is set to ‘Active’ and another option is selected, the ‘No Preference’ option needs to be turned off (aka set to ‘Default’). In short, ‘No preference’ can never be used in combination with any of the other options but the other options should be selectable with each other… Anybody can help me figure out how to get this working?

Hi Figma Friends! I was wondering if anyone has had any ideas or workarounds when dealing with the dev-side of things for color variables. Currently we have a primitive color collection that is cross referenced with our semantic colors collection. Inside of the variable collection interface, we use groups to keep things organized and easy to use for our designers, but it seems like on the dev-mode side, Figma is translating the group names to individual variables. So for example, we have a variable called “bg-neutral-primary,” which is inside of the “Backgrounds/Primary” group in our semantic collection. In Figma, this is great because the group name appears as a heading above all the variables in that group and since the variables themselves have a predictable naming structure, we can quickly search through them in the color panel. However, in dev-mode the variable name becomes “–Background-Neutral-bg-neutral-primary” which is too long and less than ideal. It also prevents our devs fr

Anyone having Font Awesome Pro issues after the April update to their plugin? Now I can only insert in a svg of an icon, and cannot treat it like text. Updated to the latest Font Awesomes locally, restarted, can see the new free and brands, but not the pro.

I have 360 variants in my button component. How can I select some of them quickly based on my preferences? For example I’d like to select only the variants LARGE and ICON-ONLY. Is there a trick? Currently I select them manually that’s cumbersome and risky.

Hi all, Long time user of Figma and am currently experiencing a strange issue. When I open a file from the Figma Desktop app or from a Figma/FigJam file link, the file will open as usual in my app, but then Figma will also open in my safari browser (default browser set by my employer) and will continue to open over and over again, creating an unlimited amount of tabs every 15 seconds or so. It is only opening to the main Figma home dashboard. Has anyone else experienced this and/or have a fix?

I have a component that is an auto layout. I would like to add an auto layout even earlier but I can’t do that. I could make an auto layout inside the component but I would have to copy all the settings of the first one into the new auto layout and then delete them from the initial one.

I think my question is not clear client downloaded the app opened the file on his phone meanwhile i cannot see his name or if he is in the file while i work on the desktop version of Figma I also asked if there is a way to work in private without people seeing me all the time thanks

I will try to explain the problem that I and my dev team are facing right now. It is mainly about texts that are used in designs and building designs for native apps. Figma decided to use an approach that would be optimal for designers who work and build for different platforms. How texts are presented in designs required some kind of compromise described here Link which in general makes sense but is irrelevant to how typography should be built for native apps. Line-heigh that is implemented in Figma position text by adding from the top and the bottom of the text block the same amount of space. And in code, it doesn’t look the same. So we cannot use my interpretation of the typography that describes each font by font size and line-height. On iOS for example our devs could use lineHeightMultiple but because Figma respect different logic the differences between design and reality are far from the pixel-perfect world. I’m working as a contractor for a company and they shared their Figma files with me. They said I’m labeled as a viewer and, as such, should be able to comment (but not edit) the file. However, when I try to comment it says “comments editor unavailable”…anyone know why? I just emailed Figma support and they directed me here because I have a “Starter” (aka free) account…could that be the reason why I can’t comment?

Hi, I am trying to copy a project from one team to another within the same account. I am the owner of both teams. I have a large number of files and I need to copy the project (create a duplicate) for one of my other teams. I have tried the “Send a Copy” feature when I right-click the project on the team screen. It prompts me to enter the URL and the email address (mine) of the team to which I want the project sent. I entered the URL (and did not receive any error message). Then, I enter my own email (because I’m the owner of the team). No error messages, as seen in the attached screenshot. However, when I go to click on the “send” button. It remains grey (unavailable) and will not allow me to click on it. I can’t seem to figure this out. I have already read through this forum discussion, but I am not seeing the same features when I try to follow the recommended “solution.”

Hi, I ofen open our app design on my phone to check if everything looks good. But when one screen is on the end of the file I need to click through all screens. Is there any solution to group screens to jump directly to a specific flow? But I do not want to link every screen, because its too much work and not necessary. In addition, you would have to check whether you need to add links again if you make changes. This is not useful for our app with its enormous number of screens. I just want to group the screens. And if I click on the right of the screen, it goes one screen further to the right and if I click on the left-hand side, I go back one screen. Thanks!

Hi there! I am working on a reusable interactive dropdown component and I almost have it perfect. I am having an issue where the dropdown options are not on top of the other elements in my frame. I have tried: Bring to Front Auto Layout → Canvas Sticking → First on Top Neither of these options seem to be working. Was hoping someone might be able to help me out Thanks in advance!
