At least 2 or 3 times per day, I will be going back and forth between applications and when coming back into Figma, the pinch-to-zoom on my track pad will not work. It works perfectly on every other application (even while it isn’t working on Figma). I haven’t been able to recreate the issue with a specific sequence of events. It seems to be haphazard.


Who else is experiencing this? Has anyone been able to recreate this issue? It’s not a trackpad or MacOS issue (since the pinch-to-zoom still works perfectly alongside when Figma isn’t responding to it).

Bonkers that this is still an issue. This is absolutely related to the Figma application.

I’m having the same problem. Both Figma and Adobe apps. Very Very annoying.


This still works on the latest version for me

Been experiencing zooming issues more frequently since the latest update. It will stop zooming in/out while using touch pad for sometime.

I also have this problem. Reported the issue on October 11 in Apple’s Feedback app, but clearly they haven’t gotten around to it yet. Very disappointing.

And to people who claim it’s a Figma-specific issue, I can telly you that it also happens in Affinity apps, Adobe apps and in macOS’s own Preview app.

Don’t know if it was the recent update, but I am experiencing this issue very frequently now. Almost every 10 min the pinch and zoom will stop working. Extremely distracting and annoying!! Pls Hellpppp. command zoom allows me to zoom, but doens’t always resolve the issue.

I am so bothered that the solve for me was to turn it on and off, as you suggested. How does a system break like this?? lol

Wow its been almost a year and no fix for this issue

The solution doesn’t work for me. But what I usually do is open and close the lid of my Mac. Just put it to sleep and open it again.


I don’t know if it is a healthy solution for the Mac, any opinions?

Same issue, disabling and re-enabling pinch to zoom in Settings doesn’t always fix it, only Figma is giving me this issue, zooming with trackpad works in every other app I’m using.

Been having more of this issue lately. Before it used to be once a day, but recently it grew to a few times a day. Really annoying.

I don’t encounter this problem with anything but Figma.

It happened after I installed macOS Ventura 13.1. Not sure if related.

Still happening here as well, several times past few days. 😦 I’m betting Figma’s hands are tied.
