It would be great if the professional plan offered more than 4 variable modes. Right now I want to set up a mode for each component size-- XS - XL, 5 sizes all together-- which puts me over the 4 limit for pro, but well under the 40 limit for enterprise, which is a quantity I will never need. And there’s no use case for enterprise at all for a team our size. I think 10-12 modes for pro would be perfect to give small teams like mine room to grow before we reach the scale where an enterprise plan would be worth consideration.
The Annotation and Comment tools have their own cursors, but the Measure tool is the same as the default cursor (Move tool). I cannot count how many times I was confused and frustrated why I couldn’t move or edit an element, only to find out I was still using the Measure tool instead of the Move tool. Please give the Measure tool its own unique cursor!
Sometimes you need to be explicit when calling out a measurement where two elements are touching each other. The current dev mode measure tool does not allow you to explicitly measure a distance of 0. This is a required measurement for proper dev handoff and keeps us from using this feature.
Currently, in prototype the cursor appears to be either ‘pointer’ (for everything) or ‘hand’ (if a click interaction set up on an element). I would like to be able to change this to a text cursor, when hovering over an input field in my proto. Affordance is a very important part of UI so surprised theres no way to do this? Of course can hack it by adding an image of a cursor, but then you end up having that plus the actual cursor on screen & it makes things worse. Should be an easy feature to add and would be very much appreciated!
I am using theming. I am creating a theme for each one of my brands. One of my brands site background color is not a solid hex, however it is a linear gradient. I am not seeing any way to do that within the variables. Is that possible?
Hi everyone! Here is my setup: I have a main icon component that has all the sizes and the colors available. There is an instance property on the main icon component where designers can select which icon they want (basically a nested component) The nested icon component that is selected changes size and color depending on the settings of the main component Problem: We are adopting a new icon library I went into the icons that already exist and replaced the .svgs I created new icons Now all the instances of icon are not obeying the color property set in the parent and need to manually reset and reconfigured. This is hugely manual and annoying... is there something I can do to avoid all this effort, and why is this happening?

I use Figma in view only mode for work and for no reason now when I hover over a property variable the actual value of the variable doesn’t show anymore. I’ve only seen one other forum post talk about this from 9 months ago and the figma rep said it was fixed in an update. I restarted my laptop and installed figma desktop, but the problem persists. Does anyone know if there is any fix to this.
When i move my design elements/frames/etc., I expect all the pinned comments to move with them – but they don’t. instead i’m left with a bunch of floating comments (that are not attached to anything), which requires me to manually re-read each comment and move it again to its correct place. this is frustrating and time consuming. but what’s worse is when another user forgets to move the comments after they move the design elements, so when i return to the Figma file it’s very difficult to decipher the floating comments because they are not pinned to anything so i have no idea what they’re referring to. please keep Comments pinned to design elements (so moving design elements automatically moves comments).
Hello, can anybody help me with this issue? I have several .fig files, and whatever I try to import them, it’s “Unsupported file format”. I tried Import from “Create new” dialog, I drad and droped , the same result. Please, how to fix it? Thank you !
My Educational plan expires in 2 weeks, but I won't have money to actually buy one until 4 weeks, or even more. What I wanna know is what happens after it expires? Do all my files just sit there the way I left them until I can buy a plan, or is everything deleted or changed somehow? Will I lose any files that are over the file limit for the free plan? I won't be doing any changes to the file, but I just gotta make sure they stay there until I get the money. Thanks
Hi team, I’ve began using Figma Sites this week and having a consistent issue of my previews not loading at all, either on the desktop app or on Browser. This is persistent and ONLY affecting Sites - I am having no issues with previews in Make, etc. I have Reset and Restarted Figma, uninstalled and redownloaded the app too, to no avail. Is this a common issue or is there something specific going wrong here?
We have Figma integrated with with SSO and SCIM for provisioning access to all employees, while also granting Dev Mode access to a few of them, but we usually end up getting tons of random Dev Mode access requests from in-product options, which are misleading, since we can’t automatically grant people access without opening a support ticket first to ensure the SCIM permissions are correct. How to turn that in-product option that offers people to request Dev Mode access off, so we can stop inducing people to request it outside of our IT support loop?
