i am suggesting to allow us to select multiple components from the stage and publish all or selected, beside the option to create variants coz after some updates and modifications, publishing from the library window becomes a challenge. some updates i don’t want to publish. sometimes it’s hard to follow the naming as well. and i believe as designers, visually it is easier for us, since we know where and which components we want to publish on the stage. i see this very similar to the new create component update in the new UI. you are allowing us to select multiple frames and select if we want to create a single component or multiple ones at once. to visualize, maybe something like this. and of course there is the publish changes option, which could follow the same approach, or a drop down like the component creation. anyway, the main idea is selecting from the stage to publish. does that make sense?
Right now, tying layer visibility to a variable means if the boolean is false = layer is hidden. It’d be great if we could invert this functionality (boolean is false = layer is shown) on a per-layer basis as I need to show some layers and hide others depending on the state of the variable. Anyone else run into this?
Hello, could you please clarify why the annotations stopped working? They seem to have disappeared from the bottom menu—only comments remain now.
Hey Figma Team, Community. I love the new variables system and the ability to change appearances. However, I came across a reoccurring problem in the last weeks: People with only view rights, are not able to change the appearance of a component or frame. This was something we designers weren't aware about. Is it possible, or maybe already in scope to allow people with view rights only, to change the appearance mode? I think this might really help and keep files slim and clean without making lots of copies and changing appearances modes. Let me know your thoughts, thanks Jonas
I’m trying to publish an bugfix update of our plugin, and the Publish plugin window displays the error “Please enable two-factor authentication to publish this plugin”. Our company uses SSO, and does not have two-factor enabled. The support page at https://help.figma.com/hc/en-us/articles/360042293394-Publish-a-plugin-to-the-Community says You need to have two-factor authentication enabled to publish plugins, including publishing updates to existing plugins. You won’t need to use two-factor authentication if you sign in to Figma via SAML SSO or Google SSO. But I can’t find any further information about how to publish the update without enabling two-factor.
Issue Summary I'm experiencing a strange issue related to variables and component instances in Figma. The behavior of variables differs depending on whether they're attached directly to objects or used within components. Details When I attach a variable (string, color, boolean, or number) directly to an object (e.g., text or rectangle) or its properties (e.g., layer visibility), everything works as expected. Updating the variable's value immediately reflects on the object. However, when those same objects are part of a component and the values are defined as properties, the component instance does not update when I change the variable values. Additionally, behavior becomes inconsistent in the component instance: changing the value of one variable (e.g., a number) can unexpectedly trigger updates to other properties (e.g., string, boolean, or color) — especially if those variables were changed previously, before modifying the triggering variable. Environment The issue started occurring
Hey Figma team, I wanted to report a problem that’s been bugging our team for the past few months. We have an Icon Library in our design system, as well as a separate glyph library. These icons are used in different sizes across the product (16px, 24px, etc.). The master components of each icon and glyph contain elements which are all set to ‘scale’. However, within our larger components, whenever we want to swap an instance of an icon with a different one from our library, the scaling (of dimensions, stroke width, and border radius) is not properly applied, resulting in a broken view. One example is: We have a nested icon component scaled to 16x16px; We replace the instance with another icon from either library (original component of which is 24x24 but all elements set to scale) and expect it to scale properly to the 16x16 dimensions. However, the swapped icon appears broken in terms of the scale of elements inside, stroke width and border radius; We have to resort to a workaround lik
Hi, Im a single designer, with no team, and I have few files of UI Kits, so to be able to use them and for the instances to get component updates do I need the Pro plan ? isn't there a way in the free plan ? Or just the copy and paste way ? -- Kind Regards
Hello! I desperatly trying to find out, why the IOS Assets (or components) can not be seen in the Prototype but in the figma file. What am I doing wrong? Wether if I copy and paste the assets to the frame or inserting it, i dont see anything. Is there something to activate or something? Im am using a windows laptop, freshly updated, drivers are updated. It’s so frustrating. In Prototype Mode In Figma File
Due to school graduation, the school email account is disabled. In this case, I would like to ask if it is possible to recover and transfer the project file to another account through authentication, etc. I really hope the file is recovered. This is an account I created for recovery and I want to recover to this account. Previous account information and authentication are available as much as possible.
Yesterday, as always, I went into the iconify plugin and it stopped displaying icons, only a white screen. I've been rebooting everything and it 's still a white screen , please help
Greetings, I have a problem, 1.5 months ago I was in the team and there was a project, and now it has disappeared from me and the creator! В удаленных файлах ни у меня, ни у создателя нет.Два месяца назад, проект 100% был! I don't know what to do now!
I-ve been using a plugin to remove the background of images directly in Figma. After the last update I found out that an option to Remove Background from the Figma UI was there. Fig 1 But after using the Drop Shadow Effect on an image with the background removed using this method, I found out that it is not correctly reading the transparent pixels. Fig 2 I tested the previous plugin I was using to remove the backgrounds and had no issues applying the Drop Shadow Effect. Fig 3 Fig 1 Fig2 Fig 3
