Hi, I need urgent help recovering a project file that suddenly disappeared. Yesterday I worked on it from my main device — everything was normal, and I closed the file as usual.Today, when I opened the same tab again (on the same and another device), I saw a message saying the file was deleted. I checked all folders, Recents, Drafts, and Trash — the file is gone.I also followed the official instructions from the Help Center (including checking the Trash and applying the "Created by: Anyone" filter), but still couldn't find the file anywhere. There were no sync issues while working, and I had full editing access — possibly even ownership. This project is very important and I need to recover it as soon as possible.I'm currently on a Starter plan and can’t reach email support directly, so I really hope someone from the team or community can help, or escalate this internally. Thanks in advance!
Has anyone found a way to have a color variable for bulk create in Figma Buzz? For example, I have an ad. I want to make 5 variations with different background images. I also want each ad to have a different font and button color. Do we think there will be an update down the road to make these edits in the google sheet for bulk create or will it need to be done manually after creation? Am I missing something? Thanks!
Maybe on confused on how the feature works. If the team is using for ideation and keeping the master branch clean for devs and clients. When it comes time to push elements from a branch to the master file, currently it pushes the entire branch. This is pointless. We don’t want all the ideation, all the options, all the throw away work, just the version that we moved forward with. Currently we need to make a new branch we call “to be merged” and we need to copy just the artboards that are approved into the new branch then merge from there. This feels like to many steps and is complicated on a team of 4 designers. Shouldn’t there be an option to select just the artboards, components, styles, etc that we want to bring forward and leave all the other work in the archived branch incase we need to go back and grab something from it in the future? Pushing everything makes the feature feel useless because you’re either deleting all your ideation or creating “merge” branches to make sure you do
Hi, why can I not change the shape of a picture anymore freely without using a mask? It was so easy to do before, where did that design option go? I would really love to use it in THAT simple manner (not masking pls) Also can we turn back the previous UI maybe?
I just upgraded to Profesional (full seat) so that I can, among other things, take advantage of the video feature — adding one to the workflow — and despite FIGMA taking my money and my profile now showing the blue “Professional” badge, the feature is NOT working. It’s still saying I need to upgrade. I tried the browser version and refreshed that at least 12 times, closed and re-started the desktop app at least 6 times and finally shut down and re-strted my Mac once...NOTHING! Worst of all, I submitted a support ticket (##1380952) and when completed, it showed me a summary at the end that said “Status: solved”. How can it be solved without anyone even looking at it or contacting me. So you take my money and then instantly tell me that my problem is solved? What a complete RIP-OFF!
When I use Figma Sites, fonts in the build view looks fine. But when I use Preview, some fonts default to arial. I’m using the latest version of Figma Desktop for Mac. Authoring View - Montserrat Semi Bold Preview - Changes to Arial Bold The fonts are loaded on my system.
I am stuck with UI in dark mode and Figma background in light mode making the sections all dark but background ssuper light. It is jarring to say the least.
I’m struggling to configure projects in a way that lets Figma keep components synced between designs and the design system without destroying its performance. Is there any way to improve Figma’s performance while working with components? I watched their video, and they didn’t mention anything about addressing this issue. It feels like we’re being pushed into a setup that will be costly to change later on.
We work in a large company with over 100k employees and have very strict rules on how to share content with clients. What we are missing are advanced sharing options for “only-view”. Sometimes, we want to share content as a ‘view-only link’ with the client to receive comments and feedback directly on the artboards. Other times, we want to share as a ‘view-only link’ but without the possibility for viewers to leave comments. This crucial option is currently unavailable for us, and it would be great if this feature could be added to the sharing options. Thanks! 👍
Problem: I love annotations, but having to select a category and property each time with my mouse is painful. It’s the main reason I have stopped using them - by creating my own annotation, I can just option + drag to create a copy of an annotation that has the category or property I’m looking for, and skip a step. But this is also not ideal. Solution: Let me add annotations without having to take my hands off my keyboard after I click on what I want to annotate! Suggestions: Default categories and annotations based off of what I just did Smart suggestions for annotations or categories Shortcuts for assigning categories or annotations Slightly more complex shortcuts for initiating annotations (such as: 1. Shift+t to go select the annotate cursor 2. Press and hold shift to duplicate last annotation category, then click 3. Press and hold option to duplicate last annotation property, then click 4. Press and hold shift and option to duplicate both ) After Shift + t, Click + hold to see cat
I have a foundation figma file with unpublished and published variables and collections. I am trying to apply such variables to another file with two ways: Importing the foundation file library to the file i am working on. With the command await figma.teamLibrary.getAvailableLibraryVariableCollectionsAsync(); i do get only the published collections so i do not have access to the unpublished ones. Using figma rest api endpoint GET /v1/files/:file_key/variables/local i get all the variables and collections but i cannot import the unpublished ones in my working file, so i cannot apply unpublished variables to the working file’s nodes. Is there any way to apply unpublished variables to a file through figma api? the weird part is that through figma ui the user can apply unpublished variables. Something goes wrong when trying to do so via code. Thanks in advance!
I have searched for this answer in the forum, but haven’t been able to my situation represented yet - so here goes: I am a design manager who needs access to all projects in my company, but do not want the notifications for all projects. Currently I am unable to find, either within the Mac desktop app or the we app, where within a specific project there is an ability to turn off notifications (currently getting both a pile of emails, as well as Slack notifications in our generic Slack integration- not channel specific). Any help to turn off one project notifications would be greatly appreciated!
We have a library of tokens with subgroups. token has a scope setting (like text tokens shouldnt appear in the list when user tries to select background color token etc) Scope setting works however empty groups are shown in teh dropdown (see screenshot, border tokens are not available): This behaviour is pretty annoying! Can you please hide grouping when no items available in teh group.
I just updated Figma today, and for some reason. in some frames that I work in I cant Drag select the objects anymore. None of them are locked and I can still click select them one by one.in other frames I can sometimes still drag select. If I rebuild the ‘broke frame’ in a new frame it becomes broken aswell. here is a video of the issue *Edit*There is a Huge Section just above these frames, when I zoom out more, I can select again. when the frame is too close to the section and zoomed in very close. issue happens again When moving the Fram further away from the frame everything works again
Right now in Buzz if you give someone a template and want to let them swap out an image, they can only Upload an image from their computer to “replace” the image, OR drag in an image from a library from scratch, but it won’t replace the existing image. Uploading an image from your computer is a good way to replace, but we want to give content editors a library of images to choose from that we curate. Ideally in this view there would be a Library icon, and then we could choose a photo from a Library to replace the image. This feels like a big miss compared to Express, which handles this much better.
