Not really sure how to log this because I don’t think it’s a question, and it’s not really worth having a conversation around, but I’m noticing this ‘dead space’ on the effects and stroke panel. I’ve restarted my Figma file + app multiple times but it doesn’t change anything. The only thing that fixes is it if I scroll up in the right panel… as if there’s an imaginary square blocking me from clicking the `+` button. Video for reference You can see if I hover here, there’s no hover state (it’s not letting me click it): But if I were to scroll or add a stroke, I can add an effect: The video will show you a better idea of what I’m talking about lol, but I’d like to flag this. This isn’t working on my other computer, so it’s confusing but also annoying.
As already mentioned here:🔗 https://forum.figma.com/archive-21/make-figma-free-for-open-source-projects-21667 It would be awesome to have an open source plan with more features — like unlimited public design files or access to some of the technical features from the Professional plan. ✨ Maybe a good compromise could be a discounted plan — like $10/month — that includes variables by API and similar tools. 💡For open source developers working in their free time, the $20/month Professional plan is already quite a stretch — and $90/month for the Organization plan is simply out of reach. 😵💫 All of this is just for public design files anyway — which helps promote Figma itself. 📢For private projects, I totally understand the need for stricter pricing. 🔒
before 🤗 Previously, you could generate a [no expire] token now 😔 If users rely on tokens to access the figma open api, forgetting to replace expired tokens can cause serious problems. The expiration date of the limited period will cause the figma token to no longer have usage value.
I have been designing for set-top boxes for several years now. And it is very convenient to do it through the transmission of the screen to the TV. But, there is no official support for Figma Mirror for TV sets. Many times I wrote to support and asked, but I always got the answer that there is no support. The most interesting thing is that Figma Mirror works perfectly on Nvidia Shield or Google Chrome (last generation) set-top boxes. You only need to put the app through aptoide. But with each time figma mirror refines the functionality for the phone, which severely degrades the functionality in TVs. For example, last year, after another update, the Remote Control for prototyping stopped working on the TV. It was very convenient to make a prototype, connect the buttons on the remote, and control the app. It felt like you were really using an out-of-the-box app. But it doesn’t work anymore. The second example happened with the last update. There was onboarding, which doesn’t allow you to
Very low performance speed in Figma Make when the thread reaches large sizes (currently 230+ iterations). All actions in the chat area occur with a significant delay (typing, scrolling, etc.), making it impossible to work. However, the prototype itself works well within FM. Has anyone encountered this? What could be the cause? Could it be related to the power of the laptop?
Is it possible to have all comments within your click-and-drag selection area move? Currently, if comments are pinned on an actual frame, they’ll move with it, but it would be nice for comments outside of a frame to move as well as sometimes I like to leave comments right outside my actual design (sometimes a bunch of comments can get in the way and be distracting when designing or reviewing designs with others). In another example, when I’m organizing my page, clicking and dragging to select a group of items in figma should move everything in that area (think maybe a few components, groups, frames, scattered comments outside of frames moving all at the same time). Would make this process lot more easier and efficient instead of having to move outside comments one at a time! One more nice-to-have is if the “undo” feature works on comments too to remove comments you didn’t mean to put or put it back from where you last moved it.
Figma Buzz is currently in beta. For those who are using it for experimentation there is a bug that does not allow us to insert our project files within Figma Buzz dashboards. The bug only allows shows public files from the Figma community but does not show your own local files, making it impossible to import. Workaround: to make the choice menu appear to select our local content to use in the dashboards just close the “templates” window by clicking on the “X” and reopen it again. This will reset the “templates” side panel and reappear the submenu for choosing local files
As editor and maybe also as viewer I want to be able to see where specific components are used. So I’m basically talking about way to find instances of a component across files. There’s a plugin called “Instance Finder” but unfortunately it’s just working within one file not across. For huge design systems with multiple files and different designers working on it this is far from ideal. This idea is not new but since the other topics are closed I guess I need to open a new thread. See: Searching for component instance in a view-only file Ask the community I am a manager of the design system library in my org and I am trying to find instances of components in other designer files via the Org Libraries options, to see how components are being used. Clicking on a component takes me to the design file, but it doesn’t link to the frame where the component is used, which is what I would expect (even if it’s used in multiple instances, I would want to see at least one of them). So I have to m
Hello designers and Figma experts, I’m facing a problem with using Hindi fonts in Figma. I’ve installed proper .ttf/.otf Hindi fonts on my system, and they work fine in other apps like MS Word and Photoshop. However, when I apply the same font in Figma: The text doesn’t update to the selected Hindi font. It often defaults to some basic font or doesn’t reflect the change at all. 🔧 Things I’ve already tried: Restarted Figma and my system. Tried different Hindi fonts. Checked if fonts are installed correctly. Using Figma desktop app (also tried browser version). ❓Has anyone faced the same issue? Is there any workaround or font recommendation that works well with Figma for Devanagari/Hindi? Thanks in advance 🙏— Mohammad Sufiyan Subhani
Dear Figma Team, While using Figma, due to the account team setting, after transferring the files to drafts, I accidentally deleted the entire team, and all important account files were lost. Could you please help restore them? I would be extremely grateful as this is very important to me. Thank you,
When using auto layout some of the images/modules can be located at an odd X or Y orientation such as 102.03. When this is the case the image exports as an odd number, it appears to be 150px tall in Figma but on export becomes 150.5px. The position of an element should NOT affect the size of an image on export. This is causing major issues for our team and having to manually edit each image or drag each image out of layout to save out.
I'm trying to figure out how to create those icon cards in FigJam, it looks like the UX has changed. Previously, I could drag an icon and place it inside a card-style component. But now, when I drag an icon onto the canvas, it just shows the icon with text below it - not the styled card I'm aiming for (see example below). I can still copy and paste older icon cards I created before, but I can't seem to change the icon within them anymore. When I try to replace the icon, it just swaps the whole card out for a plain icon instead. Has anyone figured out how to create or edit these icon cards atm? Icon Card that I want to use/create/modify Trying to change the icon (used to work like this) What it changes to now...
I see that the Code Connect feature is currently only available in the Enterprise or Organization plans, which only support annual billing. This is quite a significant expense for my team. I need to be cautious before committing to this feature without experiencing it first. Could I request a trial opportunity before paying for it? Additionally, is there any plan to include this feature in the Professional Team package? Thank very much~
Description When I update a font family variable in my design system (e.g., changing FontPrimary in the brand collection), the text on some pages doesn't visually reflect the new font. The change does apply, but the new font only renders after I double click or otherwise interact with the text. Until then, the old font appears on canvas. This issue seems to affect styles that use font variables indirectly through alias collections and text styles. Steps to Reproduce Create a font family variable in a brand collection (e.g., FontPrimary = DM Sans). Reference this font variable in an alias collection that defines type scales. Apply those variables via Text Styles across multiple pages in the file. Change the value of FontPrimary to a different font (e.g., Inter). Observe: some pages update correctly, but others still show the old font. Double click on text on the affected pages — it instantly updates to the correct new font. Expected Behavior All text styles using the updated variable sh
